“Ok, Poured Candle Bar has EXCEEDED my expectations! I honestly thought it was going to be one of those places where you just pick your favorite scents, they mix it all together, and you hope for the best that it comes together and actually smells good lol.

Our girl Kristin did a phenomenal job curating our experience. She took the time to get to know each person in our group through thoughtful questions and really listened to our answers, which made the whole experience feel so personalized and fun. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and since we were from out of town, she even gave us some great local recommendations!

“Clever and creative mixture of Japanese and American. Lots of flavor. The chicken wings were some of the best I’ve ever had. One of the owners came around and checked on every table to make sure everyone was happy. I do have an issue with restaurants that include the gratuity and on top of that imply that’s it’s appreciated to tip more. Didn’t love our server basically explaining how all the added taxes paid for the food, kitchen staff and servers while also mentioning additional gratuity is welcome. It’s a tad expensive. The restaurant is located in an old textile factory so the acoustics are terrible, it’s very loud but I still really enjoyed the meal & I recommend checking this lively restaurant.“

“The Juice Branch has amazing smoothies, bowls and sandwiches. Everyone in our family loves eating there including our kids (who are 1 and 4). George who runs the place is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet and gives the place a great welcoming vibe. The smoothie menu has dozens of options but our favorites are the Showtime and the Downtown Stroll. I also recommend whatever wrap they are currently offering with oyster mushrooms.“

“If I lived in the area, I would be hanging out here constantly! This is a welcoming, airy, beautiful place! Plenty of room for kids up front, plus an XXXL table which I imagine draws many folks for writing and drawing workshops! As you make your way to the food counter, you see many unique local artworks for sale and enjoyment. The large back part of the room is designed as a wonderful space for music and poetry readings, with a small stage, great natural and interior lighting and comfortable seats. We missed the Monday morning music, but we just needed a quick snack and respite at the time. Many have reported on the great food, which we will return for! We loved our coffee and our peaceful time there. Cafe' Joust is open on Mondays, as is the amazing Magpie Books which is just down the street.“

“Our adult children, from Brooklyn and upstate, and I, were excited to plan a surprise birthday luncheon for their Dad and my husband. The atmosphere was nice enough, and our server, Cat, was outstanding! The drinks were nice but they ran out of a beer we ordered by 1:30 pm on Saturday. Otherwise, aming a party of six, we had 4 beers, 2 Juice Bombs, 2 Health Margaritas, a glass of Chardonnay, and 3 other drinks...a total of 2 drinks per person. To start we ordered a plate of raw oysters and deep fried artichokes. Both choices were fine. We also ordered 3 Salad Nicoises which were a huge disappointment and should have been renamed, A Small Smattering 0f Tiny Greens With A Hint Of Dried Tuna, Whole Intact Garlic Clove, a 3 Discolored Green Beans Marinated in Vinegare with 2 Baby Potatos. If you were envisioning a classic Salad Nicoise, buyer beware. A 3 ounce portion of seared medium rare tuna or oil packed canned tuna, together with hard boiled eggs, Nicoise olives, and tomatoes with vinagrette were missing in action. The salad appeared to have been pepared with an eye to the least amount of preoaration“

“The food is great. I ordered a veggie quesadilla and it was delightful. Full of cheese and veggies and cooked perfectly. Salsa and sour cream on the side. Prices of things are quite decent.

I also got a red velvet muffin, which was tasty but on the dry side.

Went in and ordered take out and it was about a 25-30 minute wait. Next time I'll order ahead if they take orders like that.
Their breakfast menu looks good too, so I will be trying something off that menu in the near future.“

“Just ordered their steak sandwich special to go. Unwrapped the sandwich and was surprised by the large size, at least a foot long. The roll was fresh, meat was tender and well appointed with dressing, caramelized onions, cheese, arugula, tomatoes, etc. The sandwich was delicious! Definitely worthwhile!!“
