“While passing through for a short visit to the UAlbany campus, we researched some healthy and affordable lunch options nearby. We are so glad we found Simone's! This place is so cute on the outside, and fast, affordable, and delicious on the inside! The portions were huge, the food was fresh, and the prices were competitive with chains like Chipotle or Panera. 5/5!”

“Delicious locally made ice cream with a good vegan selection. We had an ice cream flight which was perfect to try 5 different flavors. Each one was better than the next. Ended up buying salted pretzel & raspberry chocolate chip in pints to take home. The owner was lovely to chat with and super friendly.”

“There is no friendlier bar in the Hudson Valley, no exaggeration! Sarah Gray has pulled off the rare feat of creating a place where long-time locals and transplants hang out together, in what feels like your best friend’s living room. Michael and Jenny are brilliant bartenders and make every single person who walks in feel special. The southern comfort food is delicious, the antique store in the front is a perfect place to perch with a friend or catch the live music most weekends. You will feel like your life became an episode of Friends when you walk in and pull up a seat at the bar and start meeting all your neighbors. Can’t recommend this place enough!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“I needed some dessert for a last minute birthday dinner. I have never been to or even heard of The little Bake shop but with a quick Google search they were the only ones that were open a little later in the afternoon. I decided to stop in to see if they had anything I could bring and I was able to buy an entire raspberry cheesecake and freshly made creampuffs. Everything was absolutely incredible! fresh, creamy and delicious not to mention the prices were very affordable! I will definitely be back!”

“My pizza was baked just how I like it - no brown cheese. As I use a cane, the young man who presented me with my pie went above and beyond and carried the pizza to my car and placed in my car for me. Griffin’s is a go to place for me because their food does not disappoint.”

“On the very sad and sudden loss of our Dad, we needed to find accommodations for a private family gathering on a Friday night that was reachable by family and friends. I reached out to Aaron and was told they would make their second floor at Patrick Henry’s available to us during a very busy weekend. The generous food offerings were delicious and appreciated by us all. The staff was beyond professional and kind - even reaching out to my Mom to offer their sincere condolences. Poppy made sure that all our needs were attended to and offered additional options if some of our guests wanted to stay a bit longer than we had planned. Britney was kept very busy at both the bar and making sure all the dining tables were well tended to - and she even remembered our Mom from her days at RCS. We all look forward to returning to the beautifully revitalized downtown area and gorgeous hotel for a celebration in happier times in the near future.”

“Best Chinese food in Greene county.
Also, the woman at the counter has always been very sweet and even remembers many peoples names(including my own, and she learned mine years ago after just stopping in a few times)
The food is the purest, realest Chinese food around. It isn’t the weird gel-chicken that a lot of places tend to have.
Average prices, even some on the lower end, quiet service and a big menu to choose from.
I always turn back to this location every week for Chinese. Give them a try and you really will not be let down, if you are, it would be quite the Anomaly.”

They did their job, did it well and made you feel welcome!!
I just want to make sure they were both recognized! They absolutely STOOD OUT!
Thank you to Puppy & Kick you made our day even better!”

“We ordered takeout from this Italian restaurant several times and had the dinners delivered to the James Newbury Hotel nearby. The portions were large, tasty and well prepared. Delivery was quick. We enjoyed the chicken and veal dinner choices and the salads. The staff was friendly and helpful on the occasion we stopped in to place our order for a later delivery time. They were accommodating to us with food allergies and made sure we stayed safe. Thank you Danielle for your help and upbeat attitude.”

“My partner and I booked a last-minute reservation at Aviary on a snowy night over the holidays, and it turned into one of the highlights of our visit to the area. The staff was warm and welcoming, the vibe lively and pleasant, and the food delicious. The menu was inventive and the portions plentiful, and we felt like we were lucky to have picked this spot. Recommended, next time you're in the area.”

“We were out and about in Hudson today and we were a little hungry so we stopped into kitties and I had probably one of the best egg sandwiches I ever had. I highly recommend the egg sandwich with sauerkraut. The vibe in there was very comfortable iced coffee Was nice and strong. They had a great bakery selection and a lot of local products. So if you’re coming out of the train station in Hudson, I say swing by kitties you won’t be sorry.”

“Via Cassia in Hudson is one of those restaurants that people whisper about. The kind of place that consistently lands on “best restaurant in America” lists and books out weeks in advance — for good reason.
Chef and co-owner Gaetano Arnone, alongside his wife and partner Meigan Arnone, brings serious pedigree to the Hudson Valley. Arnone’s time as Chef de Cuisine at Babbo Ristorante and Executive Chef at Otto immediately caught my attention. Babbo, in my opinion, was the first Italian fine-dining restaurant in New York that truly made fine dining feel cool — sophisticated but unstuffy, with interiors and food that worked in perfect harmony.
So naturally, I was thrilled when I finally cleared the waitlist and secured a 7pm reservation.
After a full day exploring the Hudson Valley with my brother, we sat down excited to dive in. Unfortunately, my body had other plans. Something I ate earlier in the day decided it wasn’t staying put — and I found myself sprinting to the restroom before our first appetizer even arrived. Not exactly the Via Cassia experience I had envisioned.
We quickly pivoted, packed up our salad and pasta dishes to-go, cancelled our entrée, and called it a night. I left the server a $50 gratuity for the trouble and walked out deeply disappointed — mostly because I knew I was missing something special.
The silver lining? The food we took home was fantastic.
The Insalata Via Cassia with Radicchio Castelfranco, Trevisano, toasted almonds, and Parmigiano Reggiano was vibrant and beautifully balanced. The Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Peperoncino with roasted garlic and Calabrian chilis was simple Italian cooking at its best — bold, clean, and deeply satisfying. And my brother ate the Bucatini all’Amatriciana with guanciale and pecorino was exactly what you want from the dish: rich, comforting, and perfectly executed.
So yes — technically my Via Cassia dinner ended before it even began. But based on what I tasted, I’m convinced the hype is real.
Next time, I’ll arrive a little hungrier… and skip breakfast and lunch entirely.”
