“We have brunch at the city beer hall, pretty much every week. I am famous for having the same meal every time. The steak and eggs. The steak is always cooked perfectly medium rare. The eggs are sunny side up and delicious. Home fries and a side salad round out the perfect breakfast. My partner also always orders the same meal. Fried chicken with macaroni and cheese. When we go for dinner If you are a French onion soup fan I have a huge suggestion. The French onion soup is what I call a "destination dish " It is a delicious change from the norm. The service is always fast and friendly. The staff is knowledgeable. We have been customers here since the first week and will continue to be. The bar area, the dining room with its communal tables, the patio in the summer time. This has been our go to place for the past 13 years. Keep up the great work, the food, the hospitality, the overall experience is what a beer hall should be.“

“Mouth-watering and thoughtful menu with creative, nuanced and seasonal inspirations for both food and beverage options. I was very impressed by the shishito peppers, general tso’s chicken bites, french dip and the espresso martini. The apps were perfectly battered, crispy and flavorful. The French dip just hit so right- tender meat, savory au jus, warm, perfectly toasted bread. The fries were perfect- exactly what you’d imagine if you are craving fries! And the highlight of our entire night was our bartender Halsey. Her genuine care in curating our experience cannot be matched. She made great suggestions, interjected with playful humor, read when our group wanted time to chat amongst ourselves, and made a PHENOMENAL cocktail. I mean, the most serious espresso martini anyone could hope for without the overstated hipster flair. 10/10. Would go back just for her. Watching her interact with her other bar guests was also a treat- it’s easy to see how she can command the room & keeps a mighty fine bar! Will certainly be back!“

“It’s a nice vibe in there. Lots of different types of people and I like the layout of the place. My only thing is that it was really warm in the bathroom like uncomfortably so, but it wasn’t that big a deal, just something I remember noticing. Live music is fire ? I can’t speak on the food I didn’t get any but the mixed drinks were type strong . I would return. Bartenders were quick and friendly enough.“

“It started out a little rocky due to the hostess being confused on who was waiting first and yet they wrote down our names lol but me being me I took over to help and everyone was seated in the correct order. Our waitress was one of the best waitresses that I've had in my life! She was attentive to my children and myself. She laughed with us and gave us her recommendations. The ambiance is cute it has a boat vibe. The challah French toast was good as well as the classic breakfast but the turkey bacon is nasty for sure, I'm not sure what brand they use but they need not to use it any longer.“

“First, the good... The raspberry oatmeal pancakes might be the best stack of pancakes I have ever eaten. Incredible! Now, the not so good. Wait times on Sunday morning are over 40 minutes and because of the crowds the service is (was) subpar. Got my order wrong, no coffee refills, etc. So, plan ahead, prepare to wait and do not expect service that matches the food.“

“We just had a private party for 40 here and they really exceeded expectations across the board. The food was fantastic and interesting for a buffet line, the service from the coordinator/server and bartender was really excellent, the beer selection was world class, and it was a cool interesting old building. For food we had chicken parm (really good), a great braised (?) pork dish, a large salad that was artfully presented, and the green beans and asparagus were perfectfully lightly charred, everyone was commenting on them. Only downsides were the unexpected step down into the bar, & chairs up on tables in the unused front bar. They are really well organized for private parties with extensive menus and prices posted online. Very impressed“

“My boyfriend treated me to Yono's for Valentine's Day, and Yono's was probably one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had! We had their special Valentine's menu, which offered a 6-course tasting menu, and we decided to go with the wine pairings, which was an excellent choice. It was my first time experiencing the beauty of wine pairings, and I was amazed at how elegantly the wine enhanced each course - their selections of wines were *chefs kiss* The complexity, flavor, and intricacy of each dish were phenomenal. The 6-course meal featured chilled creek oysters, butter poached scallops, root vegetable potage, foie gras, filet mignon, and dark chocolate gateau--each dish was a masterpiece and so beautifully presented. My personal favorite was the foie gras. While Yono's is definitely on the pricey side, it's perfect for your fancy shmancy occasions. I'm looking forward to returning to explore their regular menu! “Voted best dive bar in Albany. They are proud of that title and their Irish heritage! Light atmosphere. Everyone seems happy. No drama. We had some cold beers and a basket of cooked to perfection fried foods which included mozz sticks, onion rings, fries, and chicken tenders. Enough to share with many. Great jukebox too. A good time was had by all in this little neighborhood bar. Cheers!“

“This is a very cool spot. The atmosphere can't be beat- it's somewhat of a "hidden gem" being tucked away on the second floor of building overlooking Lark St. Food has been phenomenal each time I've gone. Everything is packed with flavor and has a unique touch. Chicken fried rice, the short rib, and the meatball appetizer are a few of my personal favorites but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Albany and I can't wait to go back“
