“My husband and I had our 90-guest wedding at the Vanderbilt on 6/8/24 and it could not have been any better. We found the Vanderbilt on Airbnb when looking for a unique wedding venue, visited it in January of 2023, and booked it instantly- didn’t even see another venue. As stated in previous reviews, Henrietta made the planning process as easy as possible. We communicated mainly via email, but she allowed us to come to the space as often as we needed (I think between both of our families we were there 3 times). She also provided a list of vendors that previous wedding parties had used at the Vanderbilt, which I used for our planner, tent company, shuttle company and photographer (all great). When it came time for the tasting, we were provided with an extensive menu of food and drinks curated by Matt. We were blown away by the food. As the wedding day approached, Henrietta was easy to communicate with and flexible. She helped us plan a thorough rainy day plan B, and was the bearer of good news when she called me 2 days prior to tell me the weather looked good and we were going with plan A. The weekend of the wedding was incredible. Our families stayed in the 8 rooms upstairs Friday and Saturday night. Henrietta and Matt were in early on Saturday to get everything prepared. Their team was incredible. After the ceremony, Henrietta greeted us with champagne and a congratulations. When cocktail hour ended and we realized we were so busy that we didn’t even eat our appetizers, Henrietta put together a plate for us and brought it over. I’ve heard from a number of guests that the food was the best they’ve had at a wedding, and I agree. It’s important to note that the staff was also FUN to have around. Bartenders and servers interacted with guests and kept the energy light and fun. The next morning, Matt prepared a great breakfast (much needed) for those staying at the Vanderbilt, even including some leftovers of our banana pudding dessert from the night before. Now let’s quickly talk about the space. The Vanderbilt Lakeside is the most unique space I’ve ever seen. Each room has its own personality and is decorated meticulously and beautifully. I only had to bring in decorations for the tables, as the venue itself was already perfect. The deck was a perfect fit for our 90-person dinner. The lawn, outdoor bar, and lawn games were a hit for those who wanted to chill out rather than dance. The Bar room was the perfect size for our musicians and a dance floor. The rooms upstairs are clean, all about the same size, and all have their own bathrooms to make for a comfortable stay. Overall, I cannot recommend the Vanderbilt enough. We’re racking our brains for an excuse to host another event there. Henrietta and Matt are incredible to work with!“

“Upper Depot hosted an informal get together for graduates of Claverack Elementary School this past Friday. The food, drinks, and staff were all awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to hold an event at this facility in the future, or just have a beer or drink (and some food) after a long day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.“

“We were out and about in Hudson today and we were a little hungry so we stopped into kitties and I had probably one of the best egg sandwiches I ever had. I highly recommend the egg sandwich with sauerkraut. The vibe in there was very comfortable iced coffee Was nice and strong. They had a great bakery selection and a lot of local products. So if you’re coming out of the train station in Hudson, I say swing by kitties you won’t be sorry.“

“We had a hard time finding the place at first. but we're glad we did. :) Good beer, good vibe and the food was delicious. We had a smashburger and fries, the deviled eggs, and the hand cut chicken bites which I loved and were served with the tastiest ranch sauce I've ever had. Will definitely come back again next time we're in the area.“

Our waiter customized a sandwich on the menu to accommodate my spicy food preference and it was so good! It will be what i order every time i go back! “I stay at The Wick frequently, multiple times each month for work travel, and have received nothing but the highest level of guest/ customer service from the staff here at The Wick. Of note in particular is Maria. Maria always has a smile on her face and greets guests with a warm and inviting welcome. She isattentive, extremely hard working, and makes the BEST cocktails at the bar. She socializes with guests all while being prompt and efficient. Of note as well is Carly. Carly is kind and has always gone the extra mile to accommodate any requests I may have. Both Maria and Carly demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and greatly contribute to the success and high quality of this hotel. If I owned my own business, I would 5/5 want employees such as Maria and Carly on my team.The Wick is very clean, and has comfortable beds with up to date modern decor. They also allow dogs if traveling with a furry friend.Being away from home frequently isn’t easy but staying at The Wick has made it easier, especially thanks to Maria and Carly.As a Marriott Bonvoy member I highly recommend staying at The Wick if traveling to Hudson.“

If you are a fan of motorcycles, coffee,good food, and bench racing check them out. We really enjoyed our time there and got to meet Ian and had a great chat with him. We will be back!!“

“My coffee maker broke so I swung in here in a bad mood, with a mask AND sunglasses on. Despite looking like a complete weirdo, they were very nice to me and provided a delicious nitro cold brew. Man is wolf to man? Perhaps, but barista transcends such earthly complaints.“

“I think Starbucks of the old ruined us all for how we think a coffee shop should “feel”. Coffee is above average here, but a little inconsistent. Overall vibes inside are no bueno. Grab your coffee and go. If it feels like they forgot to make it, remind them, because their system is to have no system. Food is hit and miss. The breakfast sandwich is a 10/10 though.“
