Our girl Kristin did a phenomenal job curating our experience. She took the time to get to know each person in our group through thoughtful questions and really listened to our answers, which made the whole experience feel so personalized and fun. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and since we were from out of town, she even gave us some great local recommendations!

“Upper Depot hosted an informal get together for graduates of Claverack Elementary School this past Friday. The food, drinks, and staff were all awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to hold an event at this facility in the future, or just have a beer or drink (and some food) after a long day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.“

“My husband and I had our 90-guest wedding at the Vanderbilt on 6/8/24 and it could not have been any better. We found the Vanderbilt on Airbnb when looking for a unique wedding venue, visited it in January of 2023, and booked it instantly- didn’t even see another venue. As stated in previous reviews, Henrietta made the planning process as easy as possible. We communicated mainly via email, but she allowed us to come to the space as often as we needed (I think between both of our families we were there 3 times). She also provided a list of vendors that previous wedding parties had used at the Vanderbilt, which I used for our planner, tent company, shuttle company and photographer (all great). When it came time for the tasting, we were provided with an extensive menu of food and drinks curated by Matt. We were blown away by the food. As the wedding day approached, Henrietta was easy to communicate with and flexible. She helped us plan a thorough rainy day plan B, and was the bearer of good news when she called me 2 days prior to tell me the weather looked good and we were going with plan A. The weekend of the wedding was incredible. Our families stayed in the 8 rooms upstairs Friday and Saturday night. Henrietta and Matt were in early on Saturday to get everything prepared. Their team was incredible. After the ceremony, Henrietta greeted us with champagne and a congratulations. When cocktail hour ended and we realized we were so busy that we didn’t even eat our appetizers, Henrietta put together a plate for us and brought it over. I’ve heard from a number of guests that the food was the best they’ve had at a wedding, and I agree. It’s important to note that the staff was also FUN to have around. Bartenders and servers interacted with guests and kept the energy light and fun. The next morning, Matt prepared a great breakfast (much needed) for those staying at the Vanderbilt, even including some leftovers of our banana pudding dessert from the night before. Now let’s quickly talk about the space. The Vanderbilt Lakeside is the most unique space I’ve ever seen. Each room has its own personality and is decorated meticulously and beautifully. I only had to bring in decorations for the tables, as the venue itself was already perfect. The deck was a perfect fit for our 90-person dinner. The lawn, outdoor bar, and lawn games were a hit for those who wanted to chill out rather than dance. The Bar room was the perfect size for our musicians and a dance floor. The rooms upstairs are clean, all about the same size, and all have their own bathrooms to make for a comfortable stay. Overall, I cannot recommend the Vanderbilt enough. We’re racking our brains for an excuse to host another event there. Henrietta and Matt are incredible to work with!“

“We were out and about in Hudson today and we were a little hungry so we stopped into kitties and I had probably one of the best egg sandwiches I ever had. I highly recommend the egg sandwich with sauerkraut. The vibe in there was very comfortable iced coffee Was nice and strong. They had a great bakery selection and a lot of local products. So if you’re coming out of the train station in Hudson, I say swing by kitties you won’t be sorry.“

We had a smashburger and fries, the deviled eggs, and the hand cut chicken bites which I loved and were served with the tastiest ranch sauce I've ever had. Will definitely come back again next time we're in the area.“

Our waiter customized a sandwich on the menu to accommodate my spicy food preference and it was so good! It will be what i order every time i go back! “I recently attended a conference at The Wick in Hudson, and it was an excellent experience. The event was exceptionally well organized, the food was delicious, and the venue itself was beautiful.

I had the opportunity to see one of the guest rooms, which was comfortable, modern, and inviting. The lobby and bar area create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and make a wonderful first impression.

One of my favorite parts of the visit was learning about the hotel’s history. The Wick is named after the building’s original use as a candle factory, and the artwork throughout the hotel beautifully reflects that heritage. I appreciated how the developers preserved the building’s history while transforming it into such an elegant and welcoming space.

Whether you’re attending a conference, hosting an event, or planning a stay, I highly recommend The Wick. It’s a wonderful blend of Hudson’s rich history, thoughtful restoration, and outstanding hospitality.“

“Giving this place five stars because I ordered an iced coffee and the barista filled the cup with the appropriate amount of coffee and milk and then added ice. Instead of filling it up with ice first and a splash of milk. Which means you have to spend seven dollars on a coffee that you can drink in one sip. Which is what most places do! I appreciate you!“
