“We had a family reunion up in Windham and had a gathering for 30 at Chicken Run. From the moment I sent an inquiry and Cathy got back to me things were handled professionally. Cathy answered all of my questions and kept in touch by email as well as phone calls and text. Upon arrival they could not have been more helpful, attentive and kind.
Our server Melanie was absolutely wonderful. We had her separate bar tabs for whomever was drinking, not easy to keep all of that straight but she did it with a smile. She could not have been more attentive and kind. We had the most incredible weather. They opened all the garage windows so we brought the outside in and some sat outside around the fire pit. It was perfect. When the Music started l, the singer oh my, he was fabulous.
Let’s talk about the food, we chose the most expensive buffet package because we wanted the prime rib. Well let me tell you, they did not disappoint. The amount of food was insane, and everything was absolutely delicious. Chicken, eggplant parm, ribs, prime rib, mac and cheese etc. The prime rib was an entire roast, I thought for sure it would be shaved in a shaving dish, but it was a carving station, that alone was worth the money.
I can’t say enough about the service, the owner being on hand to help and the food.
If you are thinking of having a gathering in Windham this is your place. Get the prime rib!!!!

“Photographer here! I photographed an engagement session at this location, and I can't say enough about how beautiful it is. We visited in the fall, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. The staff went above and beyond for my clients by preparing a cozy fireplace, a charcuterie board, and wine, and they even kept an eye out for their arrival to make the experience feel extra special.

I also had the chance to eat at the restaurant, and the food was excellent. When we entered the inn, we were welcomed with warm cookies, which was such a thoughtful touch. The interior is beautiful, with a rustic, antique charm that photographs incredibly well.

I hope my wife and I get the chance to stay here someday as guests. From a photographer's perspective, it's an amazing location for engagement sessions and a place I would happily recommend.“

only 4 stars because we waited about 20 minutes for 2 cups of coffee 🙃 & it didn’t seem like there was any urgency. we came up from NYC so maybe we’re just used to the hustle there. would skip if you’re on a time crunch.“

“We had dinner here twice during our stay at the Hunter Lodge. Both times we had the pleasure of being served by Stephanie, who was warm, knowledgeable, and very patient :) The first night, we ordered the smash burger and chicken sandwich, and our kids had the chicken tenders and kids hamburger. All meals were great, but the smash burger was the winner! There was also live music, which made the meal even more special. The second evening we had the fish and chips, kids mac and cheese, and the gnocchi (served pot pie style). Fries were hot and delicious both nights. Again, we were really happy with the dishes, and shout out to the team for keeping the restaurant open on a Monday (when it’s normally closed) because of the snowstorm. It made our stay that much more memorable!! Looking forward to coming back in the fall :)“

The server had a lot of tables but she was kind, efficient and thoughtful! We would highly recommend to visit if in the area. We travel full time and eat out ALOT- this was one of the best places we have been to!“
