We had a perfect Valentine’s Day dinner at the Deer Mountain Inn in the Catskills. The prix fixe menu offered excellent distinct options - especially the oysters, cacio peppe (pasta), duck, and grilled lobster, among the choices. Our personal server, Liz, is so lovely, knowledgeable, and skilled at her craft - we are so grateful! The cocktails are wonderfully mixed to optimize flavor and the wine choices enlighten the palate. Incredible atmosphere, drinks and food! We came here for our 2nd wedding anniversary dinner and we never wanted to leave! The service was attentive, and the rooms were glowing, still decorated with white lights overhead and in the chandeliers.We started with refreshing mixed greens and fritto misto (squid and rock shrimp) that minted in your mouth. What a hidden gem. Cozy, warm, speakeasy-ish. Staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. Innovative cocktail program and delicious food. Can't wait to come back in the fall and experience the grounds, but even on a rainy night in February, it was the perfect place to cozy up on a worn leather sofa by the wood burning fireplace with a deck of cards.
