“An amazing gem in Belmont. I can’t recall ever having a more tender chicken than I had here. The portions for the main dishes are enormous so they’re worth the price. The staff were kind and attentive. I’m looking forward to trying more dishes and I highly recommend Cafe Vanak!
Vegetarian options: The menu offers an impossible version of some dishes and there are grilled veggie options as well.
Parking: There’s a small lot behind the cafe, and street parking seems reasonable.“

“I expected more than corned beef out of a can from the description on the menu. The home fries were cold. Good sized portions and the service was adequate. We chose another breakfast place for the next day. Great location, though, in a walkable neighborhood .“

“While visiting MA I Checked out DAVES.. chicken was spicy & good , tried daves special with fries. Medium tasty spice definitely ruled over canes with the spicy breaded chicken. Daves sauce was comparable to canes. Great experience ! If your not into cabbage, just ask to hold the dressing“

“Ordered delivery. The spicy chicken with hand pulled noodles. Omg that was tasty! Also the beef samosa was awesome. Good prices and delicious food!“
“I ordered the dry fried noodles and the small plate chicken. The service was quick (took 10 minutes). The food was nice and I enjoyed the fried noodles more than the chicken plate. It would have been better if the chicken plate had boneless chicken pieces. Quantity was also good but I felt like the price is too high. Overall a decent place that I would probably come back to try the other things on the menu.“

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café. “Zam Zam is probably the only place in greater Boston that has done Pakistani cuisine properly. The Biryani and Chicken Karahi is the best anywhere in this region. Haleem and Nihari are also very good. My only suggestion is, please add aloo to your biryani.“

“We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“

“During my trip to Boston, I visited a Pakistani and Middle Eastern restaurant that instantly felt like home. The owner, who I believe was also running the place, was incredibly friendly and served us with genuine warmth and hospitality. We ordered classic Pakistani dishes, and the chef also Pakistani prepared them right in front of us, which made the experience even more special. The flavors were just like back home, and after five days of traveling, I finally got to enjoy a sip of proper desi-style chai and I absolutely loved it! This place is a gem for anyone craving authentic taste and heartfelt service.“

“Pretty standard halal cart food, but it's chipotle-style, where you can choose your own ingredients. Interestingly, chickpeas is one of those options, which isn't normally seen with the halal cart food. They have all the standard options like chicken, lamb, combo, platters and wraps.“

“Wow! This unassuming stall in the 88 Food Connection is home to some really excellent food. We thoroughly enjoy the lamb pilaf and beef noodle soup. The chefs are also very nice folks and we're happy to support this place.

“The food was AMAZING!! Our server was quick and checked up on us frequently. If you are looking for quality Indian food I highly recommend coming here and having their pani puri! 100000000/10 would pay millions to come here for the first time again“
“Quality is that of what I would imagine an authentic street-side indian vendor would resemble. Prices are definitely fair for what's offered in comparison to more "upscale" indian restaurants. This is more of a bare bones, no frills type of place. As mentioned, it could easily be popped out of a street-side shop in Mumbai and implanted in Boston . Been going here for last 10 Years and love the quality and authentic indian food here !!“

“Delicious, authentic food. I grew up in Dubai and the shawarmas remind me of what I had there. I live an hour away and willing to drive all the way there to get their food. Its that good!“

“My family’s favorite pizza! The people there are also always friendly and helpful. My 17 year old said the chicken bacon ranch pizza is the best they have ever had. I love the cheese so much - I know I should also branch out but it really is so good. Also, the salad and their ranch dressing is so good, fresh, and I loved that it had lots of carrot and cucumber slices, and green pepper. Yum!“

“Arrived at hospital an hour and a half early with plenty of time for lunch! This wonderful and authentic Indian restaurant was just the solution I needed! I asked for medium heat on my chicken curry and it was quite spicy! 🌶️ very delicious! This is more of a takeaway place but they have a few tables. Super nice staff! Curry 🍛 was great! Trays and plastic cutlery. My only complaint is I needed more napkins. Super happy with my impromptu luncheon!“

“Good Shawarma, great people.
The service was attentive and friendly, they ask you what you want in it, and will follow your preferences. The shawarma was good and plentiful. The only drawback was a pre-cut meat, whereas, freshly cut meat from the spit makes all the difference between good and great. Still a good Shawarma and also fairly priced“

“Falafel Corner is one of my favorite Boston-area falafel spots. For a tiny place next to a university that's open until 3am, you might be expecting food that's best consumed drunk, but you'd be wrong. The falafel has a delightful herby flavor that always pleasantly surprises me, and it's got an excellent consistency as well. I will admit I haven't tried much else on the menu, but that's only because I can't pass up their falafel.“

“The food was excellent. There was a fair amount of heat and spice, but it was balanced nicely with well-developed flavors. Even on a 95 ° f day, outside dining was comfortable because of the strong cross breeze and shade.“

“For all the Momo lovers in area. Tried the pan fried veggie Momo and tandoori Momos. They were indeed really good but a few suggestions for the restaurant:More Momo chutney with orders would be great and spicy chutney on side too. And as for the tandoori Momos, they felt a little raw which took away from flavor.Overall great “
