“Looking for dinner options along Moody Street and this was an easy choice. I've been to Dallas and had a fun evening in their Deep Ellum neighborhood so why would I skip the opportunity to try it again.

Lots of options here, considering we have meat eaters, pescatarians and kosher eaters in the group tonight. We started off with a plate of their pickles and they were fabulous. With it, beers! Including a draft German beer for me and a tin of a non-alcoholic for Mrs. K.

For main, I chose the Italian sandwich and it was fabulous. Well loaded and very tasty if perhaps a little messy. But that's what napkins are for. Mrs. K. chose the grilled cheese and said it was excellent.

“We stopped in on the way home from the airport, and it was amazing! From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed. The atmosphere and food were awesome. I highly recommend the Mickey’s Chicken special and the red sangria which was a deep dark red- as sangria should be. Yum! My children loved our Irish waitress who Made them laugh and feel special. This restaurant is over an hour from where we live, but there is no doubt we will travel back often. Wonderful experience!“

Bring your own food in with some good options nearby, they sell rotating chips for $1.50 which is clutch for late night snack. Every employee I ever encountered showed respect and hospitality to their guests. Really isn't a better place in Brighton. The restaurant group has some of the top bars in Boston.

Parking: Easy street parking. 57 bus access. Ubers never a wait.

Tacos are always fresh and delicious and the Margaritas are the best I have ever taste in the whole state of Massachusetts. “This is honestly our favorite place to go when celebrating any special occasion. We typically go for our birthdays every year. Tonight we went to celebrate 1 month till our wedding! Everyone you encounter is so friendly. You never feel rushed here so you can actually take your time and enjoy your night out. They always go the extra mile to celebrate you. They acknowledge whatever it is you are celebrating and make you feel so welcome and special. We even got some free champagne! Everything is delicious and the drinks are always amazing. I truly do not have a single negative thing to say about Black and blue.“

“Went to this restaurant after seeing it featured on Phantom Gourmet and my husband and myself left full of good food. The food was tasty and came to our table ready to eat and the service was great! They gave us everything we needed in a timely manner. The restaurant was on a smaller scale but we got a table pretty quickly without making a reservation. We even had the dessert of the strawberry shaved ice which had a bowl that was big enough to easily feed the two of us and it was very delicious!“

They also offer a wide variety of cocktails and beer. The service was excellent and the food came out decently quick. “We recently stayed in Newton for a mini vacation from Canada (visiting Boston). Every night of our stay we ate at this restaurant. I know, not overly adventurous but when the food is this good and the atmosphere is right, why bother looking? You won’t find better! We tried: - Pan seared chicken: AMAZING. - Fish and chips: when you live on the east coast it’s hard to get good fish and chips but these hit the mark! - Filet Mignon: Full of flavour and tender. - Steak Tips: Again, tender and full of flavour. - Risotto: Wonderfully strong mushroom flavour but yet offset with a field of flavours. - Scallops: Seared to perfection. - Short-rib Meatballs: Meat and cheese combo to die for. - Calamari: Another difficult one to get right and find fresh! This was one of my favourite with the dip and hot peppers. - Sirloin: Cooked to perfection, flavour was a hit and a good portion size, well worth the money. THE HOUSE SALAD: All I can say, EMAIL ME THE RECIPE FOR THE DRESSING!! This was the best item for me on the menu. Fresh, simple and full of flavour. I got it with every meal. So to recap: 10/10“
