“Had dinner tonight with my son who asked me to find a place to have middle eastern food, and Google recommended Darna. I had mixed grill which had 3 different types of meats, brown wild rice and a couple of vegetables. My son had Chicken Shawarma. We were both happy with the meals and would recommend. Informal dining floor, pay then eat style. In a part of Malden that is exploding with great food options. Enjoy exploring!“
“We were visiting from Toronto and dined at your restaurant on Sunday night. The ambience was amazing, food was delicious and your staff, I mean wow they were just amazing. We were seated at the bar and the bartender was so courteous and sweet. She did a great job in providing recommendations. Your Hostess welcomed us and provided us seats at the bar even though we didn't have any reservations. She even came to check on us at the bar on how was our overall experience. This is truly 5 star service, big shout out to your team!!!!“
“I haven’t even eaten there yet, but the service I received over the phone today was top notch. I simply called to check the value of a gift card, and the gentleman who answered the phone could not have been more kind and helpful. Can’t wait to have dinner! Thank you for such amazing hospitality, Oleana!“
“Excellent service w a knowledgeable server for wines. The food was uniformly delicious and inventive. Honestly we had so many dishes from duck kabob to cabbage Caesar salad to crunchy tuna tartare one better than the next. Fun atmosphere w easy parking. We'll be back!“
“Went there for the oysters buck a shuck. They had a great deal on a dozen fresh oysters, 3 samples of their delicious seveche and a nice bottle of white wine for $50. Excellent customer service. Our waiter Ramon was super nice. Worth it. Highly recommended!!! We will definitely come back again.“
“This is exactly what you want for a takeout Turkish place with a dine-in option. The plates are huge and the food is delicious. (Pictured is the shawarma plate.) The "mixed grill" plate is really for 2 people, I promise. Loved this place.“
“I needed appetizers for a family get together, with the recommendation of the owner, I got a few dips, pita bread and cheese. My guests loved the mouhamra dip, the baba ganoush, the humus, , the beet dip and especially the yogurt . At the restaurant, we enjoyed the cheese bread baked that morning. If you like your baklava with pistachio, that’s the place to buy it. Loved everything and the service was superior.“
“The menu is quite expansive, so this is a good catering option. I love middle eastern/Mediterranean food, so I’ve tried a lot of different places in Boston. Compared to other places, I wouldn’t say Sultana’s makes the cut for my favorites, but it wasn’t bad.- Spinach feta quiche: The portion size is good, but the flavor was bland. I wasn’t able to finish it.- Cookies: The cookies weren’t overly sweet, which I liked. They were crumbly yet soft.- Fruit yogurt pastry: This was my favorite. I liked that they are bite-sized (though, this is also dangerous because you’ll end up eating a lot). The pastry was flaky, and the yogurt was sweet, which balanced the tartness of the fruits.- Caprice acma: I wasn’t a fan of this. The acma was too doughy. Maybe it would have tasted better warm.Happy to have tried a new place, but I probably wouldn’t come back.“
“Go for: The best food in the Boston Public Market, hands down.Avoid if: You didn't bring your appetite.Something surprising: One order was honestly enough for two meals/people - a great value.Reservation needed? No, counter service only.Overall . Absolutely delicious North African fusion cuisine. It's fast and hits the mark every time. If you've never had this type of food before, try it. North African and Middle Eastern food is truly the best in the world. The only recommended improvement is having a couple additional sides or entrees to choose from, but it's hard to keep inventory in such a small space. The chickpeas are good but they're just too filling - it'd be great to halve the portion of chickpeas and introduce another small side to complement them.Value for Price: 5Sanitation: 5Food Quality: 4Menu Precision: 4Service Quality: 4Timing: 5Decor: 3Access: 4—5 among the best4 strong3 not too bad2 mediocre1 never again“
“We just moved to Boston. A friend of mine recommended Ms. Yeşim. We went there to meet her and decided to eat something while we were there. The food we ate was delicious. Ms. Yeşim and her staff welcomed us with a smile. She also helped us with many things. We were very glad to have met her. If you ever go there, you should definitely visit her. Stop by to taste their food and meet them, thank you to Dolma Restaurant ?? “
“Amazing! I booked a reservation for my dad and I when he was visiting town. He gave me the reigns when it came to choosing a restaurant which normally gives me immense anxiety but I was stoked when I came across Chickadee and it did not disappoint. The ambience is really cool with an industrial vibe that is decorated to feel intimate and cozy; extra points for being able to actually hold a conversation due to noise level. The service was great from start to finish and the staff seem very knowledgeable and excited to chat about the menu items. The food was the star with perfectly balanced flavors in all the dishes. We split the dips and spreads (ask for extra pita!) and marinated beets to start. For our main course, we each got the lobster campanelle (chefs kiss!) The pasta/grains and large plates definitely seem decently portioned (~one/person~). The plates on nearby tables looked equally as mouth-watering). I’m looking forward to coming back with friends to show them this gem.“
“This best spot for date night and hosting out of town guests! We absolutely love this place and never get tired of coming for dinner. They always have amazing specials and the staff is always so friendly. The first time we came here we had just moved back from the west coast and we left feeling like family. Everything from the apps, wine, and homemade pasta dishes are great. I love their bolognese personally and my husband is a huge fan of chicken parm. Highly recommend checking Euno out next time you’re in the north end.“
“A notable destination for Mediterranean seafood fares in the heart of Back Bay.Recently took a visit for dinner. Set against a backdrop of a modern lounge vibe, complete with high ceilings, Porto seemed like an ideal spot for date nights. As advertised, their menu featured a blend of Italian pasta and Mediterranean seafood dishes. We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. It was a decent appetizer that aligned with the typical offerings of a modern Italian restaurant. Its seasoning was a tad overbearing, but it still set a nice tone for the meal. From their pasta selections, we opted for theWild Mushroom Mafalde and the Wild Boar Cocoa Pappardelle. The Pappardelle boasted a tender boar ragu with umami from Manchego, but it unfortunately suffered from a lack of cohesion. The pasta itself was slightly undercooked and lacked depth in flavor, failing to fully harmonize with the ragu. On the other hand, the Mafalde was enjoyable. The combination of garlic butter and Aleppo pepper introduced a welcomed acidity, and the interplay of textures between the al dente Mafalde and the succulent mushrooms was particularly satisfying. The highlight of the evening was the Seared Bronzino. Unlike many other Branzino dishes I've tried in Boston, which often fell flat in flavor, Porto’s rendition was masterfully-seasoned. Each bite struck a perfect balance between salinity and the sweet nuances of the squash purée.While Porto may not be the best Mediterranean spot in Back Bay, its seafood offerings, particularly the Seared Bronzino, make it worth a return visit. The pricing, given the quality and ambiance, also doesn’t feel too excessive. Recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for an upscale romantic venue with great food and atmosphere.Parking: Prudential public parking garage“
“The food was absolutely delicious. Well flavored and very fresh. It was a very quiet Sunday so it's hard to judge how noisy it would be, but the service was attentive, and atmosphere light and airy. I'd definitely go back, even though it's a half hour drive for me to get there .“
“What a hidden gem! Falafel Mom is a refreshing authentic Lebanese spin on Mediterranean cuisine and thankfully not mall quality.Highly recommend, especially given the service and fresh food quality. Family owned with the sweetest mother daughter team, and every time we drop by they always make it a point to put a smile on my little daughter’s face. Simply said they seem like great people. There are a number authentic Lebanese dishes I have not heard of and cannot wait to try! If they upgrade locations one day to a busier location like north shore mall, or a sit down location with food quality and service like this they will be hit.Stop by you will not be disappointed!“
“Good food quality/price ratio…. Simple but very tasty food and I really enjoy it. Portions are not very big so you may need to order more small plates. Good wine list but limited. The place is very small and crowded, so this is not the place you wanna have a private date. Limited numbers of table and bar seating is very uncomfortable (very bad stools). Price is reasonable…. Definitely I will go back again (with a table though).“
“First time ordering from here & I was very satisfied with the wait times, food & friendliness by the cashiers & cooks. Atmosphere here is really good & I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Mediterranean food or wants something fresh & made with love!“
“There’s only couple of good places to eat authentic greek gyro in boston , and that’s one of them , tzatziki sauce is incredible, the gyros are huge , fries are good and the meat was perfect , i’m huge critic of greek cuisine in usa , but this place definitely worth it, don’t hesitate to try it!“
“Empty on a rainy Tuesday night. Had the revithokeftedes, Greek meatballs, moussaka and baklava. The apps and mains were perfect, the service fantastic, dessert a bit dry. Nice room, white table cloths, central bar. Parking on the street in front. A couple came and ordered from the bar. Many take out orders picked up or ready for delivery. Reasonable cost, great portions, authentic flavors. Go here.“
“I went on a date to Sorellina, and it totally lived up to my up-scale restaurant expectations. The place had this classy vibe that commanded respect, from the décor to the overall ambiance. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, enjoying the light music and the buzz of conversation. The service was very attentive to our every need. For dinner, I ordered the saltimbocca, which was veal wrapped in prosciutto, served with maitake mushrooms and truffle whipped potatoes. It was cooked to perfection and super tender, but I couldn't help thinking that the portion could've been a bit more generous, given the price. My date went for the Mafaldine, a pasta dish with shiitake and oyster mushrooms, black truffle butter, and Parmigiano. She couldn't stop raving about how amazing the mushrooms were and how this dish easily became one of her favorites. No doubt, I'll be heading back to Sorellina for more. But next time, I'll be keeping a closer eye on portion sizes and the price tag.“
“I got the variety shawarma with lamb, kofta, and chicken. The price you pay goes a LONG way in food. Delicious shawarma with side salad, falafel, fries, pita, and hummus. Enough food in one order for 2-3 people to share. Employees are extremely friendly with excellent service. Great clean packaging for easy take out transport. 10/10 delicious middle eastern food. Highly recommend.“
“I celebrated my nomination earlier this evening in this great place. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a phenomenal evening and the place was surely the reason for that outstanding event. The stuff cooperated in a graceful way, the meals were appetizing and my guests were so cheerful. We shall definitely visit again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.“
“What a great place! We found this while searching for vegan/vegetarian spots in the area. We got dolmas, a falafel pita wrap and a hummus and veggie pita wrap. The fillings were fresh, pita huge and crunchy and delicious, and the most smooth hummus ever. Need to come back here to try the impossible meatballs soon!“
“amazing job this morning to one of the managers there who i believe told me his name is Jose Amazing customer service and the first time experience this man have given me super friendly staff there Hands down the best Food ive tasted their grill cook she knows what she doing :)“
“We had a great time as usual at Ithaki. The food, service, and atmosphere was great. Our server Juliana was very nice and attentive. She was knowledgeable of the menu and helpful. One of our guests spilled food on her blouse. Juliana was able to help clean the shirt with soda ware and a cloth. We went the appetizer and small plate menu and skipped entrees. We also had coffee and dessert. The bill was under 300. The lollipop lanb chops, short rib, and octopus were delicious. The Caesar salad special was also very good. Including presentation. Overall, we were content and will return. The food and service were top notch.“
“Nice place near Tufts. Really good food, they recently added zucchini pasta for gluten free. When my wife and I want a really good, but not to fancy meal we get this.Parking: The system is really easy. You park your car and then sign it in at the restaurant through an app!“
“They added a self order kiosk right when you walk in so saves time from waiting in line to order. Best part is still being able to get your own sauce so you can get a variety or a little bit of each one for enhanced flavor. They always keep it clean inside and the sauce counters are always clean.“
“Excellent, food, drinks and service in a relaxing and prettt atmosphere. Servers and bartender there went above and beyond to make it a great experience. We ordered tomato soup, seared scallops, pasta Alfredo with broccoli and a brownie with ice cream for dessert. Delicious. The martinis and wine list were also perfectLoved this spot. We will be back again!“
“This restaurant is a really good place to go to for authentic Egyptian food. Everything I ordered was well spiced and tasted delicious. The garlic sauce blew me away. The service was great and all the food was cooked right after I ordered. All the food is made right there, so the quality is incredible and everything is very fresh. Hoping to go back soon!“
“Who doesn't love crepes? Everybody loves crepes! I had a savory Manhattan crepe for dinner and a sweet strawberry banana crepe for dessert. That was probably too many crepes. But they were both beautiful and tasty.Things I would improve: a bathroom. Clean metal utensils.“
“This place was recommended to me by a close friend to try, so I made a point to drop by today, and I'm extremely glad I made that choice.Oftentimes when I have a wrap, I usually don't think much of it, it doesn't remind me of what I've had in Paris or in Montreal, referring to the Shawarma trucks. When I came inside, I asked the gentleman behind the counter what is a popular recommendation, what meat choice is fresh and so forth. The chicken shawarma was recommended, as a wrap, that wasn't my first choice I was thinking in my head but I wanted to go with what they were suggesting, and I'm glad that I did. They told me that it would be pretty garlicky and if I was okay with that, and optionally there are onions that he would add too, and I said give me everything.I added a side of hummus as well, which came with pita bread, as I usually like to try people's hummus when I can.I sat down, small cafe like environment, with some great looking hand-painted murals of Aleppo and Armenia, which I did learn it was by local artist which made me really excited. Lunch time, weekday, not crowded, got lucky on the parking.I first got my hummus served first, it was a delight, and I specially love the thin pita bread, that was tender and fresh not hard like a old piece of sunbaked cardboard. While sipping my diet coke, I got lost in the painting in front of me which was a village in armenia, completely mesmerizing in terms of energy.Moments later my wrap was served, and I was excited, because it wasn't the big hard pita bread wrap that I often times see here in the east coast, at least in the Greater Boston area, and it was tightly wrapped, what I mean is it was condensed and tight, not loose and airy, as those loose and airy wraps I often times get falls apart in my hands and pretty much it's a poor eating experience. And I'm glad I got the onions, it's pretty much my first rap that I've eaten here in the Greater Boston area that really sung a wonderful song in my heart, from a foodie to a foodie, this isn't your regular chicken shawarma wrap. It actually didn't remind me of what I usually think of chicken from would taste like, which oftentimes carry the traditional American trappings of iceberg lettuce, and common and mundane ingredients. This had ingredients that I am not natively familiar with, I don't know if it's sumac or a mysterious sauce I haven't tried yet but the onions and the other vegetable like ingredients which I should have paid attention to, a very bright contrasting backdrop against the chicken, which was amazing in its own right, although I'm not a chicken guy, the whole collective eating experience was new to me at least here in america. And dare I say, unlike a meat wrap with veggies that oftentimes boring wraps are, this had the feeling of a medicinal quality, and a feeling of the food temperatures like hot and colds, that often times European cultures in folk, as well as Chinese cultures. Exciting ingredient play that works off of each other that were both sublime, with a deceptive front pallet attack. The garlic oil which the gentleman described was, simply a lot of garlic, really is yet another level of wrap of the whole food experience.tldr; an exciting gem of a place in which my wrap experience superseded anything I've had here in New England thus far.Vegetarian options: They had a lot of other vegetable options, not sure about vegan, but I'm sure you're familiar with what those might be such as falafel, and vegetable wraps, I believe there are also salads too, not to diminish the vegetarian world's experience.“
“Food was absolutely delicious and the service was incredible!!! So friendly and helpful! Great location right by Boston University! Definitely try the lotus Rosalach for dessert! WOW!!!!! Our server, Steff, was the sweetest, and we loved talking with the manager, Giselle!!! All around amazing experience!!“
“Food was absolutely delicious! Paul the owner is hands on with suggestions. If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine in the North Shore. Paolo's is the real deal. You won't be disappointed, and the portions are generous to say the least.“
“I stopped in for a quick take away smoothie which turned into also getting a sandwich! They are def a quality shop. Lot of other reviews comment on the price, which is why you get what you pay for. I got the chocolate smoothie which was delicious, the worker in there explained they use natural ingredients, etc and it tasted pure. I dropped it accidentally and they made a new one quickly and would not let me help clean. Very great service! The chicken shawarma sandwich was a special and it was so good. They are very kind and great quality food. I wish they did more advertising!“
“Rice plate with spicy chicken and beef and lamb shawarma were incredible. Meat was juicy and well seasoned. Portions were huge and great deal for the price. All the vegetables were fresh. Benjamin does a very good job here. Highly reccomend. Beautiful seating area with a very welcoming and cozy atmosphere. Service was fantastic.“
“A nice spot for date night in Woburn! Came here Saturday 8pm and we were seated right away. The decorations were very cozy, and I really enjoyed the jazzy acoustic music they were playing in the background. We got 6 dishes, but our favorites were the Chuletas De Cordero (grilled lamb chops with mint yogurt and Tximitxurri), Pisto Manchego (ratatouille), and Solomillo De Ternera y Queso Cabrales (beef tenderloin with blue cheese, caramelized onions, toasted crostini). The grilled lamb chops were wonderful but I personally wasn't a fan of the dill sauce so I'd eat it without it. The ratatouille is a must, strong tomato flavor with a wonton style chip. And the beef steak/tenderloin comes with blue cheese and onions on a small flank of bread.“
“Had not eaten at Mistral in about 10 years. I had a wonderful previous experience when last there. So, being back in Boston, I took my son to Mistral last night. The experience was as wonderful as I remembered. Service was outstanding, we sat at the bar. Food was fantastic, we had the tenderloin, mashed potatoe, truffle oil pizza, rack of lamb and duck with a wild mushroom risotto. Great wine selections. Still must be considered one of the best dining experiences in Boston.“
“The food is delicious!! The staff is always friendly. I definitely recommend this place if you enjoy Mediterranean as I do.Vegetarian options: You can ask for vegetarian options.Parking: The restaurant is outside a bus stop, but there is 2 hour parking.Kid-friendliness: The staff are so kind and caring.Wheelchair accessibility: Your able to get inside the restaurant with ease.“
“This is a true definition of a "Hidden Gem"!!!!Had a private Birthday Party for 30 people and Chef Misha and his staff truly made it "Special" with amazing food, very "home away home" atmosphere and fantastic attention to every detail!!!Thank you Misha and many years of growth and success!“
“The food there was amazing and the person at the cashier who served us was WONDERFUL! He came back to check on us often, he was VERY friendly, and we had a really nice talk. Would definitely come again, huge thank you to him, and indubitably this restaurant should get more than 5 stars.“
“Superiorly delicious, healthy, and reasonably priced is how I would describe the food at My Other Kitchen most concisely. Their Greek salad with chicken souvlaki is addictively good - it goes great with George's pita bread. Their hamburger tastes better than any burger I have had elsewhere, even at much higher prices! I highly recommend this place for takeout, but they also have limited seating inside and bigger tables outside in the warmer months.“
“Food is made fresh and portions are very good and prices fair. They used to use more seasoning and spices but the food is quite bland now. That said the quality of the ingredients are good. We had felafel, hummus, baba ghanoush, zereshk rice, chicken koobideh kabob wrap, grape leaves, fries, tabouli.“
“Beautiful fresh awesome quality and presentation!!! The rice pilaf is fluffy and seasoned- the golden French fries have a touch of salt- mouth watering- everything is beyond fresh. I drive from Newton and was so deeply satisfied! Cauliflower sandwich is great too! I’m in love with the beef and lamb shawarma plate! Everything is made with love and made to order!!! You won’t regret, I wish I tried it sooner- the roasted eggplant salad appetizer is wicked good.“
“As there are not nany great Greek restaurants in the area, this place has the best Greek food hands down. Good portions. Fair prices. Place is small with only a handful of tables. But comfortable enough. Lamb Shish Kebabs plate is delicious. Two nice size grilled skewers of lamb with tomatoes, onions and green peppers, served with Greek roasted potatoes, Greek salad and pita. Delicious!“
“I was so pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem! The food is outstanding, the place is spotless and bright, and the service was welcoming and cheerful!Natalie suggested I get boomin beef rendang- and boy was that the best suggestion I've had all day. The beef was melting in my mouth, the spices were never like I've had before- so aromatic and melding incredibly well with the braised beef, potatoes, and rice. And to top it off this dish is both gluten free and dairy free! I'm bringing my son back tonight to get dinner! The prices are more than ok, and Natalie was so helpful and sweet, and on point, that I feel like I made a friend as well! Awesome stuff Flavor-Boom!!!!Go see this place! It's right on Arsenal st halfway to Target!“
“The Fish w/Rice and vegetables is AMAZING ALL AROUND.Today we just ordered the Lamb Shawarma w/Rice and Vegetables and it is UNBELIEVABLE.PLEASE GO AND EAT SOME REAL FINE CLEAN, AMAZING FOOD , FROM SOME AMAZING PEOPLE @ " ALL SPICE"...“
“An absolute gem of a restaurant! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The food was not only fresh and bursting with flavor but also showcased the richness of the culture it represents. The lively atmosphere added to the overall experience, making it a memorable dining outing. The owner’s attention to detail and dedication to ensuring our satisfaction were truly commendable. You’re guaranteed to feel welcomed and exceptionally well-treated here. Highly recommend for anyone seeking great vibes and delicious food!“
“My favorite new place. I have been to South Boston location and Brookline. The food is wonder and it will be hard to find a place with better prices. Tons of delicious food from their empanadas, yuca fries, sour Sopa, Rice and beans, chicharrones to the churros for dessert! You cannot go wrong here!!“
“Upon entering, the aroma of exotic spices and freshly baked bread wafts through the air, awakening your senses and igniting your appetite. The décor is a fusion of modern elegance and traditional charm, with intricately designed carpets adorning the floors and soft, ambient lighting casting a golden glow over the space. But it is the menu that truly steals the show. Bursting with an array of authentic Middle Eastern dishes, each offering is a masterpiece crafted with precision and passion. Begin your culinary adventure with an assortment of mezes, from creamy hummus and smoky baba ghanoush to crispy falafel and tangy tabbouleh, each bite bursting with flavor and freshness. For the main course, prepare to be transported to the streets of Beirut or the markets of Marrakech with an array of mouthwatering options. Indulge in tender lamb kebabs, succulent shawarma, or fragrant tagines, each dish a symphony of spices and textures that dance on your palate. No Middle Eastern feast would be complete without a sweet finale, and DARNA certainly delivers on that front. From decadent kunafa dripping with honey and nuts to creamy, rose-scented rice pudding, each dessert is a celebration of indulgence and tradition.“
