“Just went here for the first time ever and WOW! First off, omg amazing donuts - I've had a lot of donuts and these are sooo good, they have just moved to the top of my book! Second, everyone in there (and waiting on the sidewalk) was so friendly! It is like this place emits good vibes and puts everyone in a good mood. A truly wonderful experience! Oh and third, surprisingly good coffee - you never know what you are going to get from a basic drip coffee maker but it was good! Thank you all for turning my grumpy morning (I had forgotten my coffee at home, which was the whole reason I went in there in the first place) into a lovely day!“
“Small neighborhood cafe that is CASH ONLY. I can see it filling up quickly on weekend mornings. When the weather is nice, there is ample outside seating. I have to say that I had the best apricot brioche here - took me back to Italy as it was that good! I'd probably come back here when next in the area.“
“I can't possibly say enough amazing things about this bakery! We discovered it soon after moving to the neighborhood and always loved it: amazing pastries, delicious breakfast sandwiches, and always lovely service.But mostly I came to preach about their custom orders because this month, Danish Pastry House also starred in our wedding weekend twice - first we got a generous and extremely well-priced box of perfect, fresh, flaky pastries for our welcome brunch, and second we got FOUR different cakes for our reception for less than half the price of the cheapest "wedding cake" we looked at. For reference, we got 2 8-inch and 2 10-inch cakes and had many, many, many leftovers from our little 40-person reception, all for a little over $200. We called both orders in and picked them up in-store; super easy.The cakes were so, so good. We had an Othello (yum), a Sachertorte (yum), a Carrot Cake (I thought this would be the least thrilling, but it must have been delicious because it was the only cake that disappeared completely without me getting a bite), and a Passionfruit cake (I'm a chocolate person and wasn't overly excited about this one, but I think that it was probably the best cake I've ever had - it was SO light and tangy, creamy and moist and just absolutely addictive). I spent half the morning after my wedding eating leftover passionfruit cake with a spoon! There are photos of my niece refusing to take another step because she just wants to sit on the floor and finish her cake (pictured here, and I don't blame her)! I lost count of the number of guests who told me it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had! They were that good.I have yet to try anything from this bakery that isn't scrumptious, and I have been consistently happy about the quality and quantity you get for their prices, both in-store and custom orders.“

“Everything about Tamper is amazing. The food is the best around, not to mention the coffee. Perfection! The staff is fantastic. It can get really busy but they get to you as fast as possible. I also appreciate them still requiring masks. We are still in uncertain times and it definitely makes it feel like a safe atmosphere.“
“I recommend nothing after seeing how terribly they treated a customer this afternoon at the medford sq location. guy came in to pickup pre-ordered cake that was paid for. he was told they didn't have the cake. no apology, no offer deliver cake in the morning.....NOTHING. THE customer finally asked for the only 2 cakes left which were much smaller than cake ordered. he wanted happy birthday written on the cakes and was told it couldn't be done....not sure why. 30 minutes before closing time. the beaten down guy said...I'll take those 2 cakes in replace of the cake I ordered that you failed to make. I was literally floored when the kid behind counter said ...we can't just give you those cakes. you have to pay for them. this could have been handled so many ways better. and again, not one we are sorry. none of the stuff here is anything great...the guy should have went and got a cake at the grocery store. when businesses mistreat and disrespect their customers that's it for me. modern pastry is a small business....I've seen customers treated much better at wal.art and Costco. shame on modern pastry“
“Fantastic local alternative to the chains. Note that they have been able to take card payment for some time now, but I always like to bring cash here, knowing it is a small business.The donuts are all very good. Higher quality than the cheap stuff at Dunkin’. They do run out early, as they open at 5am most days and the early crowd definitely scoops them up before the work day. I also love to get a sausage, egg, & cheese on an English muffin. Additionally, they have good New England Coffee and are all in on the unique/sweet coffee drinks that you might get at Dunkin’ - they have unique flavors, and often mix things up by getting interesting new blends (for example, today I had a “coffee cake” unsweetened blend).The service is friendly - I’ve only ever interacted with three folks behind the counter, and I think that’s all of them - fairly small operation. Restaurant itself hasn’t changed on the inside for decades. Could at least use a little TLC on their speaker system (music tends to cut out every few seconds), but other than that it has exactly the right local charm. Figures, since on any given day at any given time you’re guaranteed to find locals sitting at the bar and having a chat.Demet’s is the best. You should stop by.“
“I don't go to Starbucks a lot because of time limitations in my schedule, but I was passing through Medford on my way home and I wanted to stop in and get a drink and a bite to eat. Immediately when I walked in I was greated with a big smile from one of the employees. I got in line and figured out what I wanted; a grande iced coffee with caramel and a petite vanilla treat, which was delectable, 10/10 recommend. The barista serving me was extremely polite and made sure that she had put in the right order, and I remembered her name, which was Stella, the name of one of my dogs. Stella made my experience at Starbucks better than I was expecting and complied to everything that I had ordered and made it very fast. We exchanged a few words and for the rest of my day I was put into a good mood from that little conversation we had. Stella if you see this thank you and hope that you're my barista again! It was very clean and overall everyone did a great job while I was there. I will definitely be stopping in again to the Medford Starbucks for some more smiles, happiness, and of course more grande iced coffee! lol.“
“AN ABSOLUTELY MUST DO! 3 & 3/4 Stars for The Dunkin' Donuts but they get Extra Bonus Points because of the historic property the donut shop sits upon. This is nicknamed "The Woodstock Dunkin' Donuts". The City of Medford MA gets to claim bragging rights because 2 of the Biggest Events in the world took place here. There's the DD on Commercial St in Medford that's where they shot the Bennifer (Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck) Funny Commercial about Ben working @ The Dunkin' Donuts. that aired on the Superbowl & many times since then. The other one is at this location on Salem St. in Medford MA. where Hanley Sound once stood. There is now a monument out in front telling people what this place formerly was a few decades ago. This is where the sound for Woodstock, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, The Pope, President LBJ, Madison Square Garden, Fenway Park & many others was created. Before this musicians had a tinny speaker, amplifier & microphone & even if they were good they sounded terrible. The Hanley Brothers pioneered concert sound for the masses. Bill Hanley is called "The Father of Festival Sound". At the top right hand corner of the monument, you'll see the iconic symbol for Woodstock. You can read my review of the Hanley Sound Monument for more details & info. "The Woodstock Dunkin' Donuts" has indoor seating with tables & chairs. They also have counter seating with large windows that look out onto the street. There is No Drive-Thru but they have a DD ATM machine in their Pink & Orange colors. There's also a wall mural of people on the go drinking Dunkin Donuts Coffee. It's pretty Cool that you are eating & drinking on hallowed ground in here. Hanley pioneered the sound of music royalty & many others too. I got an iced coffee which is your standard Dunkin' Donuts brew which was Good! It used to be, you had to have Mega Bucks & be really Rich to have the Good Life, not anymore. The Game has changed. You've been Upgraded. Now You Can Live Like a King on a Limited Budget!“

The staff are not only fantastic at the dance of getting everyone their drinks quickly without knocking onto each other, but they also find the time to speak with the customers and support us. I can't have caffeine, so you'd think Starbucks isn't my spot, but they've helped me craft amazing drinks.Parking: Everyone is in and out so quickly, even during the rush, it's easy to find parking because someone's pulling out wherever anyone else is pulling in“
“Goldilox is a tiny neighborhood gem with a big heart. Amazing bagels covered with more seeds than will ever stick! We usually get extras to freeze for a treat later on. A couple of times we also bought lox on its own to make at home and it was absolutely delicious. Enjoy!!!“
