“Would give them six stars if I could. Jim’s is one of my favorite establishments around. They have it all—great food, enormous portions, and the best people. The prices are average for this area but are a good deal for the amount of food they give you. “For years, I breezed past this spot, assuming it was just and old convenience store. Little did I know, I was missing out on some good sandwich deals. A few months back, I discovered they were slinging subs, so I stopped by a couple times to grab some cold subs.

P&K has been a neighborhood fixture for over seven decades, and you can feel that old-school charm the moment you meet the owner. He’s the kind of guy who’s always friendly and never skimps on the toppings—generosity is clearly baked into the business. While the sandwiches aren’t quite the size of Al’s famous subs, they still pack great value, and honestly, they’re hefty enough that I rarely manage to finish one for breakfast. My favorites so far were the seafood salad and the classic Italian sandwich.

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for no-frills, classic Italian subs. Just keep in mind that the hot subs aren’t usually available until after 10am.“

“I got a Steak Bomb here. I didn't see that on the menu (maybe I missed it; they had 30 things listed), but the person at the counter mentioned it as an option. The Steak Bomb was really good! The beef was pretty juicy and seemed pretty good quality, and they put a lot of good ingredients on it, like cheese, mayo, and peppers. The bread was also decently soft and not too dry, so it gave the overall sandwich a good texture. The sandwich was also only $14 (which I guess is not too expensive nowadays), and you get a lot for that (you can probably feed 2 people with it). They have tons of items, so I would be happy to go again to try them out.“

“I tried this place yesterday for the first time and I am so impressed! So far I’ve had the tabbouleh, the Israeli salad, baked fish with veggies, challah and chocolate babka and they were all so, go good! I still have frozen soups and a mushroom pot pie to try and can’t wait to eat my way through them this week for lunch. The fish was so good I can hardly believe it was frozen. My daughter kept asking for bites so I will be sure to buy multiple next time. I’ve been meaning to try this place and wish I’d gotten here sooner. They are gluten and dairy free and mostly meat free as well. A lot of their ingredients are organic and they use quality oil. They were telling me while I was there that they grind some of their flours in house. You can taste the quality! It’s so nice to have a safe, healthy and DELICIOUS option for take out! “I’ve been coming to this deli for 13 years and I order the same thing regularly. It’s not even a menu item, so I’ve always been charged based on what goes into it, and the price has been consistent every time I’ve ordered it.

Today, I was charged significantly more than usual. I still paid it because I assumed prices may have gone up. The issue started when I simply mentioned that the price was different than what I normally pay.

The employee immediately became loud, rude, and confrontational. He claimed he was giving me a discount today, even though I never asked for one and was willing to pay the price. I was only pointing out that the amount was different than what I had always been charged before.

What should have been a simple conversation turned into an unnecessary scene. After being a customer for 13 years, I found the way I was spoken to completely disrespectful and unprofessional.

What bothered me most was feeling singled out and humiliated in front of other customers over a simple comment about the price. Whether that was his intention or not, that’s how the interaction made me feel. After 13 years of supporting this business, this experience has convinced me not to return.“

“Beantown Pastrami Company on Hanover Street is an absolute must stop in Boston. Fast, friendly, and flat out delicious. The staff moves with purpose and the energy in this place is infectious. Now let's talk about the sandwich because it deserves a moment. You watch them stack it and think there is absolutely no way you are finishing that. Then somehow, almost without realizing it, that magnificent tower of pastrami shrinks away before you even come up for air. If you are in Boston and walking through the North End, Beantown Pastrami Company is a non negotiable stop. Get in there!“

Coffee is good, it's what I expected- they don't have a great way of mixing it so some of the condensed milk is stuck at the bottom of the cup.

“We have been getting subs from Boyles since I was a child over 5 decades. They have always been consistent and can honestly say that they have the best Italian subs I’ve eaten. I hadn’t eaten there since we moved away and miss the taste of their subs. The large deluxe Italian has all the Italian meats you would want. It was huge. Deli sized Pepperoni, hot cappacola, mortadella, salami. They cut their meat thick too and use cubed veggies which I feel is a must on an Italian sub. Kudos for Boyles for their consistency through the years and always making subs my family loves.“
