“Would give them six stars if I could. Jim’s is one of my favorite establishments around. They have it all—great food, enormous portions, and the best people. The prices are average for this area but are a good deal for the amount of food they give you. Places like Jim’s that are no-frills and untrendy (not a bad thing) are getting rarer and rarer these days. They don’t need fancy gimmicks or artsy decorations because the food speaks for itself.“

“For years, I breezed past this spot, assuming it was just and old convenience store. Little did I know, I was missing out on some good sandwich deals. A few months back, I discovered they were slinging subs, so I stopped by a couple times to grab some cold subs.

P&K has been a neighborhood fixture for over seven decades, and you can feel that old-school charm the moment you meet the owner. He’s the kind of guy who’s always friendly and never skimps on the toppings—generosity is clearly baked into the business. While the sandwiches aren’t quite the size of Al’s famous subs, they still pack great value, and honestly, they’re hefty enough that I rarely manage to finish one for breakfast. My favorites so far were the seafood salad and the classic Italian sandwich.

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for no-frills, classic Italian subs. Just keep in mind that the hot subs aren’t usually available until after 10am.“

“I got a Steak Bomb here. I didn't see that on the menu (maybe I missed it; they had 30 things listed), but the person at the counter mentioned it as an option. The Steak Bomb was really good! The beef was pretty juicy and seemed pretty good quality, and they put a lot of good ingredients on it, like cheese, mayo, and peppers. The bread was also decently soft and not too dry, so it gave the overall sandwich a good texture. The sandwich was also only $14 (which I guess is not too expensive nowadays), and you get a lot for that (you can probably feed 2 people with it). So far I’ve had the tabbouleh, the Israeli salad, baked fish with veggies, challah and chocolate babka and they were all so, go good! I still have frozen soups and a mushroom pot pie to try and can’t wait to eat my way through them this week for lunch. The fish was so good I can hardly believe it was frozen. My daughter kept asking for bites so I will be sure to buy multiple next time. I’ve been meaning to try this place and wish I’d gotten here sooner. They are gluten and dairy free and mostly meat free as well. A lot of their ingredients are organic and they use quality oil. They were telling me while I was there that they grind some of their flours in house. You can taste the quality! It’s so nice to have a safe, healthy and DELICIOUS option for take out! “We have been getting subs from Boyles since I was a child over 5 decades. They have always been consistent and can honestly say that they have the best Italian subs I’ve eaten. I hadn’t eaten there since we moved away and miss the taste of their subs. The large deluxe Italian has all the Italian meats you would want. It was huge. Deli sized Pepperoni, hot cappacola, mortadella, salami. They cut their meat thick too and use cubed veggies which I feel is a must on an Italian sub. Kudos for Boyles for their consistency through the years and always making subs my family loves.“
