Though they are mostly a takeout spot, and their menu is kind of limited, Effies is easily some of the best Greek food I’ve tried in the greater Boston area - and I used to work in a Greek restaurant. “Great, easy, authentic bites. Countertop order and community seating place. Line was long but they got through the line fairly fast. I got the chicken with the special sauce, the haloumi, and pita with dips. The pita was a lot bigger than I thought it would be and seems like it would be enough for one person's lunch or shared between two. The haloumi was delicious and was a great snack especially when I made a sandwich with the pita and dips. The gyro was very tasty andi could have gone back for another just to keep the flavour train going. It gets busy so seating gets tough but there are pleanty of nearby benches.“

“We we order from Stardust for my mother’s 91st birthday party. The food was fabulous. The falafel were so light and wonderful. All of the meats disappeared immediately-so flavorful and tender-and the vegetables were great for both vegetarians and mediators. Truly a great experience.“

Their cocktails are always excellent & creative (and rotate seasonally). Their gyros are incredible, salads are so fresh, and we really love their lemon pepper wings and sweet potato fries. “Great cheese pizza!! This time i decided to try their streak, cheese & mush… was nervous as I’m very picky on them. So the steak was shaved with no gristle (can’t stand that), not too many mush (perfect), decent amount of cheese, toppings were all fresh so overall it was WAYYYY better than expected or for around here without going too far & the price was only $11 for a large. However, I got mine toasted, I picked it up within 10 minutes. The bread was soggy ? so I took off a star for that! But other than that, the taste was very good & meat of good quality.. I will just heat mine up in oven taking off lettuce (ugh annoying tho)! I don’t know if I would order another steak & cheese from them again but it was overall pretty good once I re-toasted it in oven. But definitely try their pizza. It’s actually cheap & really good, I always get their cheese in X-Large & have had their pepperoni too which was good! Didn’t have to ask for extra cheese or anything, it’s perfectly made almost every time.“

“This place is great! It's the Chipotle of homemade Greek food in that you point out everything you want on your gyro, dinner, or salad. The pitas for the gyro are made fresh, i.e., fresh dough is run through a pita cooker, right in front of you, and they come out soft and hot. The lamb seems to be braised (rather than shaved as has been standard on previous gyros I've had) and is delicious, and one gyro fed two of us perfectly. They don't serve booze, but the food is so good and right for the price, who needs it?!“

“Such a classic diner! I love their French toast and steak fries in particular. My kids always happy with the pancakes and grilled cheese. I occasionally bring work colleagues and they always enjoy the atmosphere and non-rushed vibe. A few mentioned they weren’t fans of the omelet (1 was egg white, one was straight off menu), but scrambled eggs were a hit. Would love hash browns as menu addition instead of the breakfast potatoes (seems to be never eaten by guests), but otherwise perfection!
Prices are very reasonable, waitstaff is low key in a refreshing way (again, you don’t feel rushed, which is so nice these days), and seating is versatile and comfy

Parking: Free Parking lots to the side (both ends of street), and meter parking in front

Kid-friendliness: Weekdays are generally adults but wkds filled with families (in a good way), no pressure to quiet loud kids! My kids prefer silver dollar pancakes so they often opt for lunch items there at breakfast but works for us! Great neighborhood joint“
