“There was a miscommunication about the bakery's hours, and I genuinely thought we were going to be without our Easter order. But Emily, the manager, and her father John, the owner, did something I truly didn't expect — they made it work anyway. They went out of their way to make sure we still got everything we needed, and on Easter Sunday of all days. That kind of customer care is rare. It would have been so easy for them to simply say "sorry, we're closed" — but instead they showed up for us in a way we won't forget. And the food? Absolutely delicious. Our pies were fresh and perfectly made, and the carrot birthday cake — a special request from the birthday boy himself — was absolutely stunning. Everything tasted like it was baked with real love and care, and it made our Easter celebration (and birthday!) that much more special. If you're looking for a bakery that not only delivers incredible baked goods but also treats their customers like family, look no further. Emily and John, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. “My family surprised me with a delivery of a dozen of their vegan cupcakes, and they were the best cupcakes I've ever had (vegan or not)! “Every week when I take my dog on a long walk we pass Weesh so I can get my weekly fix of the Berry Pop Tart. Not only does it taste fresh and amazing, but the owner and staff there are beyond kind and friendly. This is a true gem in Roslindale Village“

“The staff is extremely hospitable and is always happy to see a guest come into the shop- it’s such a great place to spend a morning having a snack and some coffee. The concept is really great- several friends who created a business together. Their treatment of customers clearly aligns with that.
The food, pastries, and desserts are phenomenal and their cakes, whole regular cake or custom design, are delicious and always turn out beautiful. They are also very willing to try to work to accommodate a customer on a custom cake or cupcake order.
If you’re looking for a real matcha latte and not a “cafe matcha”, theirs is delicious. While I’m not able to handle the punch of caffeine in their Vietnamese coffee too frequently, it is also delicious. Any of their teas or fruit-centered drinks are also great. I would highly recommend a strawberry jasmine with popping boba.
They do have parking behind the building, but just be sure to go in and grab a parking pass before sitting down for breakfast or dessert.
While it can get pricier with more items added to your order, it’s exceptionally clear that the prices support their business model- which focuses on a great customer experience while also providing good wages and a great working environment for all staff members.“

“We visited Mike's Pastry and had a very pleasant experience. As soon as we walked in, everything looked incredibly fresh and delicious. The display cases were full of tempting pastries and desserts, making it difficult to decide what to try because everything looked so tasty.

The staff were very nice, patient, and friendly throughout our visit. Even with many customers around, they took their time and helped us choose without making us feel rushed. Good customer service always makes a difference, and the team here created a welcoming atmosphere.

We decided to try the Boston cream pie, and it was excellent. The taste was rich and satisfying without being too heavy or overly sweet. The texture was soft and fresh, and overall it was a very enjoyable dessert.

Overall, Mike’s Pastry is definitely worth visiting if you are in Boston and want to try classic local desserts and pastries. Great selection, friendly staff, and very tasty treats.“

“I read some bad reviews but I didn't experience that at all. (Probably b/c I eat gluten).
I've been back 3 times now! I love sweet stuff so I get extra icing. My daughter gets none! The cakes are delicious! Even my husband enjoyed the carrot cake. He is NOT a cake guy. 🤣 Anyways I placed a pick up order last night. Headed there in a few and I can't wait to eat them!“
