“For years, I breezed past this spot, assuming it was just and old convenience store. Little did I know, I was missing out on some good sandwich deals. A few months back, I discovered they were slinging subs, so I stopped by a couple times to grab some cold subs.
P&K has been a neighborhood fixture for over seven decades, and you can feel that old-school charm the moment you meet the owner. He’s the kind of guy who’s always friendly and never skimps on the toppings—generosity is clearly baked into the business. While the sandwiches aren’t quite the size of Al’s famous subs, they still pack great value, and honestly, they’re hefty enough that I rarely manage to finish one for breakfast. My favorites so far were the seafood salad and the classic Italian sandwich.
Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re looking for no-frills, classic Italian subs. Just keep in mind that the hot subs aren’t usually available until after 10am.“

“March 8th we had a retirement party catered from Stevie and gang at Sammys. Cold Cut Platter Assorted Calzone Chicken Boccoli and Ziti Sausage Potato Pepper and Onion Garden salad and dressing. Delivered to Saugus!!! Hot. Fresh. On time. Cost effective. Tasty!!!! Plentiful, we ran out of nothing with 50 adults, mostly men. 5 star job. ☆☆☆☆☆ Will use for the next gathering as well. “The absolute best chicken salad on a fresh braided sesame roll I’ve ever had! I get mine with lettuce, tomato, pickles and hots. Awesomeness !! My husband has been talking about it for a few years, I was able to get in and he was correct. The best!! And the owners are super friendly and enjoyable to chat with. A happily married couple for sure!!

“Stopped in today, this was my second time shopping. Got 10lbs fresh kielbasa and lots of other goodies. Very helpful and pleasant staff. I’m not Polish, but my husband and kids are, so I cook the traditional Polish food. I will definitely keep coming back, so hard to find good authentic Polish food!!“

“Great locally owned spot for breakfast. The food was fast and fresh! And a great value! I had the 3 cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes, they were skin-on reds! My young daughter (9) had the English muffin egg and bacon —she wholeheartedly agreed. Beats the socks off the chain places nearby with preprepped frozen foods being made by people who don’t care.“

The staff was courteous and recommended the steak and cheese sub and for the record, after having it…I would drive hours to come back and get another one of these sandwiches again. “No mind blowing “vibes” but food and quickness of it being ready are 100. Cash only. Went to Mike and Patty’s in high rise and they had no bacon so we left and found this place. 2 egg, toast, homefries and bacon with coffee for two was $20. Total. Hells yeah and ready by the time the change hit my hand.“

“Wow! I ordered a few things from The Real Deal in JP Yesterday. EVERYTHING I ordered was Absolutely Delicious! The Patty Melt was one of the best things I have ever tasted! The ”Godfather” I took for lunch today at work. Delicious! The combo of flavors was just perfect. They certainly know how to cook at this place! Wow! The Real Deal will be my new go-to place for take out!“

“Letterie is a literally the best food I had in Boston consider its remarkable price. Customer service is really great. Jim has a big heart and really does his best to keep the place as clean as possible. Figgles worth is legit and delicious. Definitely come back for it next time!!!“

“Went on a Sunday lunch. Got the traditional 1/4lb of pastrami, was quite good. Don't think pastrami can get much better. If you want NYC delicassen flavor, ask to reduce whatever salty sauce they put in. Overall worth it given downtown Boston (13$), plus you don't have to tip.
Gave 4 star because it's just pastrami, but again as good as pastrami can get.“

“Some of the best authentic banh mi around . I've been going there almost 10 years. Same great food at same cheap prices . I'd recommend going just to try you'd be surprised. From the sandwiches to the rice or noodle bowls and boba drinks. A must try!“
