“We have never been and it was one of the best meals we have had! The chicken was so flavorful and wasn’t dry at all. The sandwiches were delicious and portion sizes are not for the faint of heart. We had leftovers for 2 meals! The staff was kind and patient with us as we had a few extra questions since we had never been before. “What a wonderful experience! They were so kind as to make me a vegan tikka masala, and it's not even on the menu! That used to be my favorite dish before going vegan in 2017, and this is the first restaurant to ever make a vegan version for me ❤️ I will definitely be back. It was so good!!“

“I had just missed my flight back home and after 5 hours at the airport things began to look rather grim. I then decided to take a walk and by complete luck happened to use this location as a pickup spot for my Uber. What started as me wanting a small snack then turned into a newfound appreciation for Somali cuisine and an eating experience I will have yet to forget. Tawakal Halal gave me the best food and service in about 14 minutes than other establishments have managed to give me in an hour, so great in fact, that I wouldn’t have forgiven myself if I didn’t go a second time before I left. The food by itself is beyond amazing and I could write a whole review entirely on how great the food is, however, my personal favorites were the Goat Biryani and the Halwa as an excellent dessert option after. In addition to the food, the service here was amazing as well. The staff were always making sure I had everything I needed and doing everything they could to make my experience there a pleasant one, even offering me tea as I waited for my Uber. All in all, the best way I could describe this café to anyone wanting to know more about it is that it is truly everything you could ever ask for in a dining experience: fantastic food and amazing service. It even no longer made me upset that I missed my flight that day for if I hadn’t, I would have never been able to find this gem of a café. Thank you, Tawakal Halal, so much for giving me an experience I will never forget and know that when I return to Boston, you can bet the first stop on my itinerary will be your café. “On one of the first days at my company, a colleague took me to the old New York Deli on Temple Street and introduced me to Kadhim. I couldn't understand why he would take the time - it's not like this guy is going to remember me out of all of the people who come through there. My mistake - every time I would see him over the years, at whatever location, Kadhim would come from behind the counter and greet me by name like an old friend. Understand - he was told my name once, over 20 years ago. I don't even go out to lunch very often - sometimes it would be years between visits to one of the Falafel King locations. But every time I enter, it's a big smile and greeting and an expression of appreciation that cannot be faked...go check them out!“

“We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“

“Wow! This unassuming stall in the 88 Food Connection is home to some really excellent food. We thoroughly enjoy the lamb pilaf and beef noodle soup. The chefs are also very nice folks and we're happy to support this place.

“Pretty standard halal cart food, but it's chipotle-style, where you can choose your own ingredients. Interestingly, chickpeas is one of those options, which isn't normally seen with the halal cart food. They have all the standard options like chicken, lamb, combo, platters and wraps.“

The service was attentive and friendly, they ask you what you want in it, and will follow your preferences. The shawarma was good and plentiful. “My family’s favorite pizza! The people there are also always friendly and helpful. My 17 year old said the chicken bacon ranch pizza is the best they have ever had. I love the cheese so much - I know I should also branch out but it really is so good. Also, the salad and their ranch dressing is so good, fresh, and I loved that it had lots of carrot and cucumber slices, and green pepper. Yum!“

“This little tiny cute place looks like a tiny house stretched to be taller. It is right next door to Charlies Kitchen in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. You walk in and can go up a few steps where there is a counter to order, and downstairs there is seating for maybe 6-10 people tops. The place is great and is clean and the owner keeps it up well. The food is outstanding and falafel Corner and in particular, they produce some amazing shawarma wraps and rollups - nice and juicy and the veggies have always been fresh. This evening I called ahead and ordered 2 menu items for take out - the chicken shawarma rollup and the vegie combo plate. Both were excellent, tasty, juicy and large enough in portion to satisfy two hungry people. I'd recommend this place to all. A bonus if your into late night food action - I believe it stays open late, to like 3 or 3:30AM.“

“I met the owner chef a little more than two years ago he’s been in business for a total of nine years. His store is so busy. I cannot begin to tell you how great a job he does. It’s like organized chaos when I first started going there. He had two or three orders on the front counter now he has at least 15 or 20 every time I walk in the door. He is so nice so friendly no matter how busy he is always a big hello in the smile very very nice person.
