Then in June, I needed a last minute gluten free entree, and the team put together a beautifully garnished pan of gluten free roasted chicken that was delicious. “We were visiting from Philly and made a stop here to do our yearly ginger shots. That’s our thing. New year, same ritual. Clean start, no excuses.

The immune booster smoothie was an easy yes. Deep in color, bold without being harsh, and balanced in a way that tells you real ingredients are doing the heavy lifting. The red beet powder gives it that earthy backbone that feels purposeful. This wasn’t made to be flashy. It was made to work.

We also grabbed the cheese bread, which I fully intended to photograph… but it didn’t survive long enough. Warm, comforting, and exactly what it should be. Sometimes the best review is an empty plate.

What really stuck with us though was the story behind the place. Hearing how Crush came to be made the experience hit deeper. You can feel the heart in what they’re doing. This isn’t just a juice shop. It’s personal. And that intention shows up in every sip.

If we lived closer, this would be part of our routine without question. Until then, it’s a spot we’ll remember and return to whenever we’re back in town.

“Obsessed with their smoothies. I’m a loyal customer who frequently visits. The major issue I have is they are unwilling to share the nutritional value of the smoothies. I track my macros and calories and have done my own back end assumptions based on what I order but it would be really helpful if they provided the facts. I’ve asked several times and I get different answers on the amount of protein fat etc as a health food shop they should provide this. Again the food itself is excellent. If anyone finds the nutrition value please do let me know!“

“Had the best chicharrón of my life here months ago. As soon as I spotted them glistening on display, I knew I had to order. Crispy skin, juicy meat, perfectly seasoned. The pork fat was rendered just enough so the remaining fat had a firmer, almost meaty bite instead of melting away. It was one of those rare, stop-you-in-your-tracks moments.

Unfortunately, when I came back a few months later, they were just… ordinary. No more juiciness, just dry chunks sitting out on display. Maybe it’s a timing thing—you probably have to show up early morning to catch Colombian chicharrón at its best. The rest of that plate (sausage, rice, beans) was fine, though the beef was on the tough, dry side.

On my most recent visit, I tried the beef empanada and carne asada. The empanada was decent, but clearly not fried to order—still edible, but not something I’d go out of my way for. The carne asada, however, was one of the best I’ve had in the area: thick cut, fat cap rendered just enough to bring flavor without grease, and seasoned spot-on. My only gripe was the side—fries instead of rice, which pushed the whole plate into salty-overload territory. Fries were great, but rice would’ve balanced it better.“

“I'm not going to fault them for never having an open table... they're busy, it is what it is. However, I don't like how pushy and demanding they are the minute you come in to take your order. Chill a minute, it's a big menu! We need a couple seconds to decide. The food is always tasty but sometimes the execution is wrong, sloppy, or lacking (I've ordered a rueban that had 1 slice of pastrami and nothing but sauerkraut... :( ).“

“Cafe Nero never disappoints. The food and their cafe stores always deliver amazing coffee, lattes and sandwiches. Love this store location with its huge large viewing windows. Also, it’s so nice to be served by actual baristas that know really how to make a good latte and cappuccino. So much more exquisite than Starbucks and Dunkin Doughnuts. Just make sure to get in early and find a seat because it does get very busy and popular with the locals.“

The Teriyaki Tofu Grain Bowl (8/10) was pretty flavorful and such a hearty meal. I feel like the sauce might have been a little on the heavier side but is was still very good.

I also had a bite of the Autumn Falafel Grain Bowl (6.5/10) and it was also very good in a different way. It didn't have the strong kick in the flavor and the tangy/sweet/savory kick as the Teriyaki Tofu Bowl but still very good in its own way. I don't usually like falafels because they cant be hard and dry but they made it very soft.“

I was looking for dessert, but on the kiosk, under bakeries Nero wasn’t listed, in fact, hardly a thing was, so I planned to go without until I stumbled upon Nero on my way out. They bake fresh every day. It’s a very comfortable and relaxingenvironment and as noted above excellent service. He was serving an outrageous range of coffee, specialties, and the bakery goods looked carefully crafted. The chocolate cake was quite delicious and reasonably priced. “The milk tea is good, I like the milk tea here very much! Since I don't like it too sweet, I always choose 50% or 30% sugar. The cashiers were very good when I went there before, and they came to ask if I needed to order in a timely manner, but the service staff this time was not so good. I stood there for a long time, and they looked at me several times, but they didn't come to help me order. Because I wanted to use cash, I had no choice but to order on the self-service machine.“
