“Confectionary created a cake that was both delicious and an absolute work of art. They were able to take the details that I loved from my invitation suite and produce a cake that was so stunningly intricate and everything we had hoped for. The cherry on top were the sugar flowers that looked so realistic a guest mistook them for fresh! They worked with us to create flavor combinations that made both my husband and me happy. I have never seen so much cake eaten at a wedding! We had people going up for seconds in order to try both flavors. Working with the Confectionary team was an absolute pleasure and I could not recommend them any more highly!“

“Just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to Shay/Shea/Shae! Today I happened to be driving by your East Providence location and I got really excited because I LOVE your apple Babka! So I figured why not, I'll stop in and see if it's a storefront or just the distribution center. I was greeted by Shay/Shea/Shae and she was awesome. She let me know that the apple Babka was a seasonal item, which made me cry a little on the inside but then she told me about the new Lemon Ricotta. I mentioned I was never crazy about Ricotta in pastry. I thanked her for her time and was about to leave when she said hang on and handed me a Lemon Ricotta Babka and a Pretzel to try and told me to just try it and let you guys know what I thought. Well let me tell you I was very wrong about ricotta in pastry, I am sorry. It was amazing! My Wife was super pumped when she got home as well. And truth be told I have never in my life eaten a pretzel...it was delicious as well! So this is just a little thank you. The best marketing by far is a smiling face and a warm experience. I knew I loved your products but after today I will sing your praises to anyone I know because of how amazing Shay/Shea/shae is/was! (I'm really sorry for not knowing how to properly spell your name!) People make the difference. You can have the best product on the planet, but if the experience in getting that product sucks it's just not as good.“

The first time I explained to one of the owners, Alyse, that my son wanted a camo, American flag, Fortnite birthday cake if that was even possible. The shop itself is small but full of great choices and very friendly staff. The sweets were very good. I was also super surprised at the low cost. We bought four pastries and a loaf of sweet bread for about $14. When she told me the total I asked her to repeat herself because I was so surprised. In Cambridge it probably would have been closer to $25-30.“

The building itself looks like a school, you drive around back and park in the parking lot. There are no signs that tell you where to go, but you go up the set of stairs and there is a bell, you ring the bell and your donut cake is waiting on a table, someone comes out and asks your name and hands you the donut cake.All in all, it’s a good experience, I think the donut could be a tad bit better but it is a very good donut cake that the kids love, I think there could be a little bit better signage when you get there and maybe directions on how to actually get your cake once you arrive but I would definitely buy again.“

Freshly baked and bigger. Very glad to see the specialty Italian cookies so well made still. And the Scialo’s Italian bread is still the best in the United States.-------Update July 2021: Jen, the tremendous manager of the bakery is leaving after almost 31 amazing years with the two Scialo's bakery locations, Seekonk and Riverside (with 17 years in the Riverside location since its opening). The new manager, Christina, will be taking the helm with big shoes to fill. Looking forward to seeing the bakery maintain its current level of success. Great recent purchase for a morning breakfast meeting with the raisin bran muffins, coffeecake muffins, and jelly doughnuts.-------Overall, so lucky to shop in this bakery! Outstanding Italian bread and rolls! Good cake, cookies, and pizza strips. Jen the manager is a precious soul who strives every day to be genuine to her staff and customers. I recommend being intentional during ordering. For example, sometimes items are undercooked. Was there this week and cinnamon buns were absolutely perfect. But last week, found them to be undercooked with white-ish dough. Same can happen with the pizza strip dough, Eccles cakes or streusel phyllo dough along the bottom is not thoroughly cooked. I imagine there can be a rush in the early morning hours to get things out of the oven and into the cases. But why not spend a few more minutes to get the item baked right?
