“Fabulous neighborhood bar with really great food. Or should I say fabulous restaurant, with a really great bar. Either way, a fantastic place to visit. Side note, although terrific, the Yukon mashed potatoes have bacon and its not mentioned on the menu. If you have a food allergy, be sure to ask.“
“Some of the most delicious small plates we have had in the US! Loved all our selections …lentil nachos, the Black Sea cornbread, calamari, avocado w fresh gyro bread, falafel, brussel sprouts, pork belly biscuits… all so amazing. The star of the show for me… they walked the dining room w a tray of FRIED CHICKEN…with an amazing taziki…. My husband had been trying to get reservations foreva! So thrilled to try this spot. Fantastic server as well. She was full of suggestions, very busy but super attentive. Can’t wait to come back!“
“You can roll a D20 to get a mystery drink, and the concotuons we got were very good but wild. One was the spiciest drink ive ever had. The food here is fantastic, but the plates are small. The restaurant itself is even smaller, so you'll need a reservation to eat.100% would go again.“
“Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. The fried chives were so good. The curries were so different and delicious. The shrimp and pomelo salad along with the green papaya was tasty. They have a bar opening soon and I can wait to check it out!Vegetarian options: Quite a few options to make things vegetarian or that are vegetarian.“
“What a lovely restaurant. The outside is swagger with flowers around the door, very much like cafes in Paris. The food was spectacular. We had oysters and shrimp, shepherd’s pie, beetroot and blood orange salad, homemade tagliatelle bolognese and a spicy lobster pasta dish. Desserts are inventive and delicious. We got a banana sundae, a combination of bananas foster with banana bread and ice cream. The cocktails are beautiful. Different and cool with fun names. There are two bars in a lovely cozy setting of white lights, windows and hardwood floors. Definitely will be back.“
“I've been to the Bodega several times and have always had a positive experience. My girlfriend and I went on our first date here and had a great time. Food is delicious, particularly the creative dishes that incorporate new American and Asian fusion with unique flavors. The drinks are strong and delicious.“
“We ordered scallop ceviche, ensalada de remolacha, chuletas de Cordero, puerco asado, ropa vieja, and Santiago sour. The Santiago sour drink, I thought was really good. Not too sour, and it goes well with our dishes. The scallops ceviche was OK. IT wasn't anything special. It was missing something. The beet salad and the lamb chop are a must! The slow braised pork with rice and salad is good, too.We never got our ropa vieja even though we ordered it. When the bill came out, we noticed that we were charged with ropa vieja. We spoke to our waitor and he took off the bill.Service was good. The meals came out fast for the most part until the ropa vieja. My drink came out with a broken piece of glass at the bottom, so it was fine. It wasn't in the drink.Overall, the food was good. It does get busy on the weekend. Good date place. The food prices were reasonable. FYI, there is a kitchen service fee when you get your bill. There are plenty of parking spaces in the back.“
“Went to Viale while on vacation in MA. I found it to be better than the popular Italian restaurants in downtown Boston. The food was incredible. My wife, who is a vegetarian with high food standards, absolutely loved the beat salad, shaved brussel sprouts, and arancini that they served her. The meatballs were delicious. Service was great. The manager met with us and was very friendly and accommodating. This will be our go to spot from now on whenever we visit Boston.Vegetarian options: Some great vegetarian options on the menu, but the manager made it clear that they would also modify any dish to accommodate a vegetarian diet, upon request.“
“We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner here this evening. Our waiter, Robin, was amazing. Highlights for me were the Beef Tataki, the tahini cauliflower, the dandan noodles, and the fried chicken. Great fusion food, great vibe, great views.“
“Wow. Wow. Wow. Honestly blew us away. I’m a classic pizza person however, we went for the ramen pizza and I have zero regrets. Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Insanely wonderful service. If you go, and he’s available, ask for Danni. He will give you the most honest recommendations while also making you feel right at home. A truly wonderful experience.“
“Party of 4 - we had a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly. Service was great. Very attentive waiter. All of us enjoyed the apps (eggplant rollatini and brushetta) and entrees. I got the chicken, broccoli and penne in Alfredo sauce and it was so creamy and delicious. Martinis were top notch too - espresso and strawberry lemonade. Highly recommend.“
“A very detailed review from someone who has eaten a lot of tapas!Outstanding bartender! I’ve been a bit disappointed lately when I go into high-end cocktail bars, and they don’t have ingredients I need for making my favorite drinks. Not only was this bartender excellent and knowledgeable, but as I was naming my favorite drink, he knew it, and he loved it as well. I ordered off the menu though, and enjoyed the “kitty’s got claws” because I am a big Mezcal fan and it looked interesting. It was beautifully balanced. Then I saw him making what I thought was a corpse reviver, and we talked a bit about that, and I was thrilled that he knew how to make one, so as I watched him making one for somebody else. I ordered it as my second drink. I know I’m supposed to be reviewing the food, and I will get to that, but a quality bartender, who is interesting and fun, and above all… Knowledgeable, is a very big part of an experience that has a full bar. Bravo, to this bartender! I only wish I remembered his name.On to the food. Interesting interpretation of tapas. Especially the cabbage, which was different than any presentation I have had before. A large piece, braised perfectly, with a creamy sauce. Patatas bravas were an interesting take as well. Often they are either too small with a bit of sauce smothered on them or they are too big and only spiced a little bit. These were a great size and they were seasoned, but did not have any sauce on them, which is wonderful. And then there was some romesco sauce (made of tomatoes and roasted red peppers, and usually almonds) on the side; a really great interpretation of this classic Spanish dish. (Note that a typical bravas sauce has smoked paprika and tomato paste) and I really enjoyed the romesco as a nice change. We also had a lamb slider, which was big enough for lunch for one person. So keep that in mind when ordering. It was actually halfway between the size of a slider and a regular burger. Also, the homemade focaccia was very fluffy! The rosemary butter is a good compliment.Atmosphere is cute. Loud and bustling and definitely not the type of place that is quiet and you can hear the forks clinking. Really great vibe. Wonderful neighborhood place. We lived in JP for years and raised our kids here and it was great to come back and see this new (to us!) restaurant in the neighborhood.“
“Kushala Sip Coffee House is a beautiful, clean spot offering a great selection of food and beverages. I ordered a hot Café Latte and a Spanish omelette, and both exceeded expectations. The latte came in a generous glass mug, while the omelette was perfection with layers of thinly sliced potato. The ambiance was serene, with other patrons enjoying their Sunday morning over relaxing bossa nova music. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy quality food and drink. Highly recommend! It’s so nice to see that Chelsea is finally Gentrifying.“
“Great food, great service. The yakitori are grilled to perfection. The wait staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The drink menu offers an array of sake, cocktails, wine and beer. Cannot wait to go back and try more food!“
“Got no pics for this as everything was too good to stop and snap a pic. But just know, you should go here if you want a slightly more unique dining experience in Boston. Sit at the bar for the full experience, as the bartenders are very helpful/knowledgeable. It's a cocktail bar with amazing drinks but don't sleep on the food. It's the real deal. Salmon crudo was incredible, perfect amount of tartness. Braised lamb parpaldelle was delicious as expected, and the carbonara I believe is one of the best around. Highly recommend this spot.“
“At Barcelona and it has been amazing. I visit the Atlanta location often but they do not have Elizabeth. Found out that the company trained her for a Manager role and I think it was the best decision they could have made. She should write a book on the service industry and how to do it right. I am thankful for the experience and her time at this location. #winebar #goodservice #boston #bostonfoodies #bostonstrong“
“Can't think of a thing on the menu that's not authentic tasting and delicious. If you go definitely order the Moussaka. It comes in a baked dish, the custard like flavor and spices used are so delicious. Also just the basic Greek potatoes are very good with a little bit of a lemon taste. Chicken any way they cook it is also good.Vegetarian options: The Mediterranean salad is excellent. Also you can order things like the Greek potatoes, spanikopita and baklava.“
“I been going to Dali for over30 years. its my most favorite of all restaurants. The beauty have always been consistency. From the host to servers the chefs and the amazing bartenders everything is always perfect. I have recently relocated to Maine I miss Dali.“
“Although none of the dishes blew me away flavor-wise, this is solid place for seafood tapas in the South End. We went with a large group, so got to try several small plates on the menu. Main thoughts on the food are: - Calamari and patatas bravas were the standouts. Would definitely recommend. - Both the clams and mussels appeared to made with a similar sauce, so could have just gotten one or the other without missing out on much. Also, the sauces had a noticeably butter-y taste. - Meatballs were small, tough, and so tightly packed that none of the sauce could permeate inside. Would skip. - Hamachi and salmon crudo were both fresh and well-presented, but had similar citrus flavors so again could have just gotten one or the other. - Cauliflower was not particularly memorable or unique, would skip. - Mushrooms were tender, but made with vinegar. This take was unique, but I was personally not a fan. Overall, this is a cute place to go with friends. Service, decor, presentation, portion sizes, and food quality were all great. Just didn't have that extra oomph of flavor to make me excited about coming back again. 3.5 stars“
“We came for Dine Out Boston so we got to try a number of different dishes as well as their white wine by the bottle! Everything was so delicious and the service was really great. Can’t wait to return sometime soon!Dietary restrictions: I am severely allergic to peanuts and I could have everything on the menu without an issue!“
“I had a fantastic time here! The hospitality was great, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere delivered a very Southern feel, particularly because of the music choices which were big band and Dixieland type of tunes. I also had fantastic company, and that counts for a lot of the experience, in my view.“
“Was here with a friends for a bday dinner. It was absolutely delicious from drinks to mains and to dessert. We had their private room and it was so great to make all the noise in there. Totally recommend everything but our favorites was the croquettes, patatas bravas, shrimp in garlic and the salad. But totally do the omakase pre doze meal they have. Let them do all the thinking. Sit back and drink and stuff your face. Can't wait to go back. Service was phenomenal too!!“
“Very unassuming from the outside but very cool interior with a spacious dining room and large bar! We got there 2 minutes after they opened and I'm glad we did because by 1130 the place was packed! They gave us fair warning if we were going to have the spuflee pancakes then they are going to take a little time to cook and you should place orders for them as soon as you know. They weren't kidding as it was about 35 minutes from ordering until our dishes arrived but it was well worth the wait! Everything was absolutely delicious the fluffy pancakes soaked up all the strawberry creme freche making for a burst of flavor with every bite. Wonderful job team!“
“I recently stumbled into Pagu on a particularly rainy day in Boston (you know, one of those sideway rainstorm days). Covered in mud, I snagged one of the last bar seats available. Opting for my usuals - roasted mushrooms and ramen - I paired them with a glass of wine and a good book, enjoying the restaurant's laid-back atmosphere. To my surprise, Chef/Owner Tracy Chang had hand delivered my dinner! Her radiant smile alone was enough to brighten up an otherwise atrocious day for me. Chang's innovative approach to dining shines through in every dish, prioritizing creativity and kindness - a sentiment echoed by the attentive staff at Pagu. It's no wonder that Pagu remains a cornerstone of Central Square.“
“Edwin is an amazing server with great attention to detail. Was very knowledgeable on drink recommendations and knew when to come by and check in on us by gauging the vibes. The staff overall seemed really supportive of one another and felt like a well-oiled machine. The food was phenomenal. I highly recommend the arancini and the shrimp parmigiana. SO GOOD.11/10 would visit again. ?“
“A nice spot for date night in Woburn! Came here Saturday 8pm and we were seated right away. The decorations were very cozy, and I really enjoyed the jazzy acoustic music they were playing in the background. We got 6 dishes, but our favorites were the Chuletas De Cordero (grilled lamb chops with mint yogurt and Tximitxurri), Pisto Manchego (ratatouille), and Solomillo De Ternera y Queso Cabrales (beef tenderloin with blue cheese, caramelized onions, toasted crostini). The grilled lamb chops were wonderful but I personally wasn't a fan of the dill sauce so I'd eat it without it. The ratatouille is a must, strong tomato flavor with a wonton style chip. And the beef steak/tenderloin comes with blue cheese and onions on a small flank of bread.“
“Visiting Boston and came as here was recommended by local. It’s a great place to visit. Food is great, had the best bone marrow, and the foie gras is definitely recommendable. service is busy but good, atmosphere is great. The only thing is it was freezing and we both got sick. The backyard outdoor patio is still freezing though there are Mr heaters near the wall outlets. The heat wasn’t strong enough at all to cover the area. Would only go again if got in door seating in winter.“
“These are some of the nicest cocktails I have ever had, absolutely recommend the Mezcal. Get the pulpo and the plantains for a starter- they are out of this world. All flavors are insanely fresh, this place radiated high quality. Just go, you won’t regret anything you get.“
“Fabulous neighborhood bar with really great food. Or should I say fabulous restaurant, with a really great bar. Either way, a fantastic place to visit. Side note, although terrific, the Yukon mashed potatoes have bacon and its not mentioned on the menu. If you have a food allergy, be sure to ask.“
“Food, service and atmosphere were all superb! If you dine here you won't only get a great meal but you'll have a whole experience! I love how the whole staff work as a team! The owner even took time to make sure everything was ??. I drove from 45 min away on a rainy night and this was well worth it. I'll definitely be back.“
“Moved to the area a few months ago and Tasca has become a regular favorite! Each dish has been delicious, every server has been kind and attentive, and the drinks are also great. They are only open in the evenings which provides a nice atmosphere as well. Overall well worth it!“
“The food was amazing. We couldn’t stop ordering more plates. The scallop appetizer was so refreshing and delicious! They also have a shrimp weekend special that was just packed full of flavor. My husband had the Birria taco dish and I had to fight him to a bite. The mezcal drinks were also done very well, we loved it. Before we left, the owner gave us two shots on the house because she knew we were from out of town. This was such a great dining experience, highly recommend!!“
“This is a small place Very well made drinks Food is fresh and taste is delicious The staff was full of smiles The decorative bathroom is awesome I hope they grow and get a bigger location because they will need the space Good luck to this restaurant“
“I can't review the full dinner menu and tapas, as I only came here for the bar, but I did want to leave a review because it was a great evening. From 5-7pm Monday through Saturday, the bar does $2 oysters, and my partner and I had a whopping 24! We went on a Thursday evening and the atmosphere was great - not too loud or crowded, but not dead either. The service was amazing as well - the oysters came almost immediately after we ordered them and when we ordered the Sherry flight, the staff gave us a great explanation of each of the 4 drinks before leaving us to our food and drink. Oysters ($2 each) - I'm not usually a huge fan of oysters, but these were different from a lot of the others I've had in the past. They were slightly briny, but they also had a really sweet aftertaste that made them really pleasant to eat. They were served with lemon and also a little cup of vinegar - both options were good but I preferred the lemon. We started with 12 oysters and ordered a second dozen when we realized how good they were! Sherry flight ($30) - I had never had sherry before, but this was quite pleasant. The flight came with 4 different sherries and 2 croquetas which were tasty and filled with ham and bechamel. The filling was a bit dense, but not necessarily a bad thing. The four sherries were as follows, and my reviews are coming from someone who does not know much about sherry but enjoyed each one: - Manzanilla La Cigarrera - This was a light one with a very light alcohol taste. It paired nicely with the oysters. - Fino el Granero - This one had a slightly stronger alcohol taste to it, but it also paired nicely with the oysters. - Amontillado Rare Escuadrilla - This one tasted like a red blend and was my favorite of the four. It was nice to sip on after eating the oysters. - Olorosso East India Solera - This one was my partners favorite and tasted sweet. It almost had a taste like raisins, but it was quite pleasant. The order also came with bread, though I'm not sure if it was the drinks or the oysters that triggered the bread. The bread was nice, but they did not offer butter with it. Instead, you could have olive oil, but it was a fancy olive oil so there was a charge. We opted to just eat the bread by itself and it was nice - crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. All in all, this was a bit of an expensive night (we did eat a lot though!) but it was well worth it. I do know there are $1 oysters around Boston, but $2 oysters near our home is also a great deal. The sherry flight was nice to try, but I'd also like to try their gin and gin mixed drinks, as they are known for both their sherry and gin. I give this a strong 4/5 and we will definitely be back!“
“I went here for the Saturday hot chocolate experience. It was very confusing and disorganized to figure out how to get seated. We were waiting in a cluster/line but there was no host to facilitate the seating. I think it was self seating? And then the service was very very slow. The interior was gorgeous and the hot coco was cute and fun. I think if they were more well staffed this experience would have been better.“
“Little Donkey is an absolute gem. We were there for first seating at 10:30 am on a Sunday. Glad we had a reservation since they were very busy and tables we blocked off by 11:20. Our dishes were delicious and came out pretty quickly. Someone at our table had a nut allergy and every dish was brought out with a clearance of the allergy so that incase she wanted to try other dishes, she knew what was safe. The salmon and Tuna Tartar is delicious, but unbelievably small and honestly not worth the $19. We ordered it to hold us over while waiting for friends who were running behind. It is bare 4 actual bites. We learned from our waiter that most of the items we initially wanted were tiny. This is a really cute spot with an open kitchen which is cool to look into, and the bar tender is great at creating new drink concoctions.“
“We had a good time here. They have interesting choice of foods and nice atmosphere. Perfect for a date night and gathering up with friends. The piano bar is awesome. Its so chill. Would recommend the exalted one and rosemary baby for drinks. Be back soon.“
“Almost perfect. Really cute lil spot in Southie. Can’t seem to decide if they want to commit to being upscale or not. Certainly priced at the higher range. The food and cocktails (mostly) live up to the price, but feels like service and decor don’t quite match up. Would love it if Petula’s was a bit more affordable to make it a regular go-to spot, but for now it remains a worthwhile indulgence.Vegetarian options: Great for pescatarian. Veggie options, but not a lot well balanced with protein.“
“The food is over-the-top good. I love the menu very eclectic, I enjoy they have small plates as well as large plates. Like the place so much and taking my wife there for our anniversary tonight. Highly recommend the pasta. Don't think there's anything that you can order that you won't love.“
“Raul is AMAZING!! super attentive and gets exactly what you want even if it’s not on the menu! ask for him the next time you’re in. we’re regulars?Kid-friendliness: came in with 2 two year olds— they were super accomadating. thank you!“
“I went here with a group of friends for dinner. It is difficult to get a table walk in unless you reserve it. Because they are popular, they call and confirm your reservation sometimes. We were seated probably 5-10 min after our reserved time. The place is large but they cramped the tables so close. The atmosphere is modern but very loud. The food (dinner menu) is definitely overpriced. They have vegetables like roasted carrots and mushrooms as well as meat dishes. The roasted carrots were priced around $7 and a very thinly sliced steak was $16. At least 1/3 of the menu was spicy and the food is on the greasier side. The cheese and charcuterie board was nice. We got a goat cheese platter and the cheese quality was very good. The drinks here are mediocre for the price point. Overall, it is a hip place but overpriced for sure.“
“I gave a meh review the last time I was here so I thought it would be fair to give a good review this time. I don’t know if they have improved or if it was a matter of the items we picked, but there was a significant difference between the two visits. This time we got the Albondigas, Queso de Cabra, Bruselas a la Sidra, Montadito de Jamon, Costillas de Cordero, and the Dátiles and everything was delicious. The prices are still a bit high, but it is usually with tapas, so with the live music and much better food, it was worth it. Well done T’ahpas!“
“Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and it was quite fantastic. First of all our server was absolutely wonderful. The food was also equally delicious. He gave us great recommendations on what to try and what would pair well with what we had ordered. My wife is vegetarian so he was even able to give us the veggie options that weren't on menu. The meatballs are extremely good and the citrus salad was so yummy. The pizza was light and crispy. The location itself is small but very cozy. A good cocktail and wine list as well. I would highly recommend this place for food!“
“I'm at the Logan Airport Vineyard Grille. Laurie, the bartender, makes this airport bar feel like a local pub. The Bloody Mary's at a tad expensive. $14.95, but delicious! The food looks good, but after 4 olives and 2 stalks of celery in my drinks, I'm not hungry!“
“I'm addicted to this place! tastes exactly like my mom's cooking, which says a lot. Best turkish restaurant I've had in Massachusetts. there are a lot of good turkish places here actually (I've tried 5), but this once takes the prize. and very friendly service!“
“A Boston restaurant with a delicious selection of sushi and desserts. The varied menu, including both entrees and desserts, provides a wonderful dining experience. The outdoor seating was pleasant, and every dish we tried was delicious. The food was fresh, well-made, and perfect for photos. Overall, LoLa 42 provides great food, great service, and a great time.Full Review:My experience at LoLa 42 in Boston was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we arrived, the ambiance set the stage for a fantastic dining experience. We opted for outdoor seating, which offered a lovely view and added to the overall atmosphere. The menu at LoLa 42 is quite diverse, offering a range of options from sushi to desserts. We started with a selection of sushi rolls, and each one was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the ingredients was evident, and we found ourselves ordering more after finishing our initial selection. In addition to the sushi, we also tried some of the desserts, which were equally impressive. The variety of options made it difficult to choose, but we finally settled on a few items, and they did not disappoint. Each dessert was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The service at LoLa 42 was top-notch, with attentive staff ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. The food was served in reasonable time, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and able to provide helpful recommendations.LoLa 42 is a restaurant that, while pricey, is still excellent. The food was exceptional, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was lovely. I would highly recommend LoLa 42 to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Boston.“
“This was a great find, the food was amazing, the service was amazing , a lovely young bar tender, with great banter and listening ears. Great music and dj that plays after 10 .Great cocktails and reasonably priced for night out. It's definitely perfect if you are looking for black boston.I will definitely be returning well done Fete“
“We love going to Fromage with friends. The owner Tatiana is so sweet and it feels like you’ve just stepped into a European cafe. The crepes on the lunch menu and lattes are amazing.Kid-friendliness: It’s not loud like most Southie restaurants/bars and they have plenty of room for a stroller or anything needed to accommodate kids.“
“I gave it 4 stars because of the location. - This came up for "Older crowd" in Boston. I can assure you, after being there several times, its very very young(21-25yrs) - about 80% of the people. Getting a drink is exactly what you expect with this crowd. Not easy especially on nice days. People working seemed to be pleasant and hustling though!“
