“I moved to the area about 3 years ago and have been looking for my bar. You know? The one where you can strike up a conversation with a war veteran and he just tells you the craziest stories. And of course, the bar has to make a great martini. Knoll Street does it for me. Laid back. Great food. And I think the neighborhood is starting to realize it too. It’s like the bar from How I Met Your Mother. Comfy and checks all the boxes.“

“Really impressed with this restaurant! I've developed dietary restrictions due to health reasons which have prevented me from going to a lot of restaurants. When my friend planned a going away dinner here, I reached out via email asking if it was possible for them to accommodate me. They wrote back an extremely kind response saying they were looking forward to hosting me- that really made my day. The wait staff was wonderful, listened to all of my requests attentively and my meal was perfect and delicious. I will absolutely be back, thank you Audubon!“

“First time at Cityside last night and it was great! The Nachos were so good I wish we had gotten a large, the buffalo wings had a nice crisp to them which made them amazing. For entrees I had the fish tacos which were good but not all that and my fiancé had the cheesesteaks which can’t be compared to cheesesteaks on the North shore but still good. The drinks were good but pretty pricey. My fiancé liked every drunk he got besides the Mai Tai. It was super nice being on the roof top which made the entire night 💕 I definitely would recommend.“

“Holy moly! Rainy first night in Boston staying up the way at the Commonwealth we visited the Kenmore. Nathan took great care of us. Solid pour at the bar. Can I say enough about the K Burger? Likely not other than the first bite blows your mind. Quality over everything else. Great spot, will be back tonight and tomorrow night looking for Sturgill Simpson fans.“

Her service was outstanding, and she made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of from the moment we sat down. She was knowledgeable about the menu, checked in at just the right times, and made everything feel effortless. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in what she does. “This is our local establishment, and we have been here regularly. The food is consistently good with ample portions. Enjoyable soundtrack 1960s. Most recently, we arrived at 6:15, didn't get the menu or water for 20 minutes (there was only one other table dining). But the place was freezing - everyone in the place was wearing coats, one woman wore mittens between bites!“

“We had a small birthday party at the Brook in their private back room yesterday. I cannot say enough how great everything was! The room was perfect, the food was awesome and there was plenty for everyone to have seconds( we did the casual lunch buffet with pizzas and two kinds of sandwiches). The price was beyond reasonable! Rose our bartender went above and beyond in making sure everyone was taken care of! And she made a great Bloody Mary! I highly recommend the Brook for your next function, I know we will be back for more get togethers in that great space. 10/10 all around for everything!!“

“Service at the bar was outstanding and the BBQ special was by far one of the best we’ve had, and we’ve eaten a lot of BBQ in our days. I wanted “comfort food” and to me that screams chicken pot pie. The dish was basically tasteless and had a thick, over flowered, white gravy. You could hardly make out any of the chicken or veggies. Everything else was outstanding and would recommend revamping the dish or take it off the menu.“

The customer service at the location in Malden was excellent, our waitress was so polite, personable, and the right amount of attentive. “The Liberty is a neighborhood gem, interior has the bones of a classic diner street car, all narrow lines and lived in charm, with none of the gimmicks some places lean on to fake that feel.

The crowd is what makes it. A comfortable mix of working folks and locals who clearly know the staff by name, and the staff know them right back. Service is warm without being performative, the full bar is a nice surprise for a no frills spot, and the food is exactly what you want when you walk through the door: home cooked meal with generous portions.

One of our favorite local stops for an unfussy, satisfying meal. If you want a place that feels like a neighborhood rather than a concept, this is it.“
