Shirley Eat More Sunshine Reviews
Bacon egg and cheese and potatoes with aoili 👨🍳💋
Genuinely the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had and up there with some of my all time favorite things I’ve ever eaten. It’s very clear the owner puts so much effort, love, and care into making really delicious and hearty food.
Can’t recommend enough!
It is important to note that it’s take out only, but you’re right in Davis so the location could not be more perfect for sitting in the shade to enjoy your treats :)
A great place for a solid sandwich. The ingredients are high quality, the focaccia is addictive, and the seasonal items hit the spot. I’m always surprised by the quality of the vegetarian options, especially the beet and feta.

Shirley Eat More Sunshine is a cozy eatery that offers a variety of delicious options. Their sandwiches, such as the egg sandwich with a moist yolk, high-quality focaccia, and pickled radish slices, are elevated to the next level. The menu is based on seasonal fruits and vegetables, and options are available for vegetarians and vegans. The SALAMI MOZZARELLA SANDWICH and CHEESE-Y FOCACCIA BACON BREAKFAST SANDWICH are highly recommended. The bread is famous for its versatility and comfort, and the focaccia buns are fresh, chewy, and flavorful, with toppings chosen with care. The house-made pickles are a favorite addition. The California Sunshine Cake, with its orange and dark chocolate, is also worth trying.
The restaurant is located about 10 minutes walking from the neighborhood, and many visitors have been surprised by how tasty the food is. The owner, Kat, is dedicated to her customers and takes the time to explain new menu items and chat. The menu changes seasonally, showcasing a variety of creations, and the fresh ingredients are locally sourced. While Shirley Eat More Sunshine operates mainly as a take-out spot, eating outside in Davis Square is a delightful option, especially with the friendly atmosphere. Customers have praised the excellent coffee and kombucha, and many find the sandwiches to be like no other—almost like sandwich art.
The restaurant’s focus on sustainable ingredients and friendly service makes it a great place for a tasty meal. Although some find the owner not the most outgoing, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, as some sandwiches can sell out before noon on weekends. Shirley Eat More Sunshine is quickly becoming a favorite destination for those seeking fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced eats in a friendly environment.
