There's a reason that sometimes there is an hour or more wait time for a pizza on weekends. People come from hours away to get a Lynwood pizza. My partner and I got bicol express, plantains, and halo halo - TASTE: 4/5 - enjoyed the hint of spicy peppers in this bicol express. The plantains weren't at their peak ripeness, but still a good sweetness. Have always loved ube ice cream and the various sweets in halo halo TEXTURE: 4/5 - tasty & fatty pork belly in the bicol express. Plantains were cut thicker than I like, so not as crispy unfortunately. Shaved ice is the least satisfying part of halo halo, in my opinion, but the toppings and syrup made for nice contrast PRICE: 4/5 - total came to $36 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - we weren't super hungry, so sharing the entree worked for us SERVICE: 4/5 - walked in at 5pm on a Sunday and glad we had the space to ourselves; I remember how packed and busy their grand opening was ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - small family-run space, w less than 20 seats, and Filipino and Jamaican touches PARKING: 4/5 - we're usually able to get a free street spot right in front on Water St. When that's taken, we resort to the tighter spots in the parking lot (Adams Ct) behind Bright Light“

“This is what a diner should be. Friendly staff and the chef's are happy. You can tell the food is made with love. I happened to be close, so I figured I would give it a try. I'm happy I did. I had an english muffin with bacon, egg, and cheese. The home fries are very good. They leave the skin on, which makes them extra tasty. I will definitely be back.“

The host welcomed us and was able to hold great conversation while walking us to our table (he gave us a few great laughs). “I tried the Venus Cafe for the first time today for takeout. I ordered a green pepper onion and mushroom pizza. I got there early and got it as soon as he popped it into the box, so there was no time for it to steam in the box. I usually have my dog with me, so that's why I get take-out a lot. A little bit of flop at the beginning due to it being piping hot and loaded with toppings. Tasted great, and the price was good. This place is one of the goats of this style of pizza, ssbp. The only complaint is that they use sliced toppings, not chopped. And that's just a personal preference due to years of thinking I took a clean bite of pizza, and then a chunk of blistering topping comes with it and tags me on the chin. Lol. I went to the takeout side and dealt directly with the cook, and he was very nice. I have no clue about the bar area, but friendly kitchen staff speaks volumes for a place. I'm slowly trying all the places that do this style of pizza in the area, and this one did not disappoint.“

The staff is incredibly friendly, from the hostess, to our server (I regrettably cannot remember her name) and even the manager, every single person in the restaurant was so kind. The food was 10/10 (got the Greek salad with grilled chicken and an appetizer, the burrata plate) great portion sizes, reasonable prices, an all around great experience. The place was a little small but there were a lot of tables. It was very crowded but that was expected as it’s a very popular place. There was a line when we got there but it moved quickly. “The food is good. I've been here twice so far. It's a little small and the last time we were there they were having a private party in the restaurant. So it was very crowded. They are kid friendly, but I dont recommend taking children under the age of 4. It's too crowded and they don't have a changing table in the bathroom which was difficult when I had to change my daughter. I got the chicken saltimboca, which I thought was very good. My fiance got the special which was vinegar peppers pork chop. The pork was undercooked and they give you 2 slices of peppers. They would have cooked it more but it was so busy he didn't ask so he didn't eat it. If he had sent it back to be cooked more he would have enjoyed it. The waitress was so nice! They have a lot of patience! This place is perfect for a couple or a group of adults but I would leave the little ones at home (with a babysitter, obviously). The only downside is the parking. They do have a very small lot but again, when they're busy, it's hard to find parking. Even street parking.Kid-friendliness: Like I mentioned in my review. They do accommodate kids. But there is no changing station in the bathrooms and it's very crowded. You're close to the tables around you, which makes it hard to get through the restaurant carrying a toddler and a diaper bag without accidentally bumping someone.“

“We had a wonderful time at Barrell Z House this past Saturday. Our bartender, dressed in Germany garb for Oktoberfest, was so friendly and helpful. We had our little dog Ella with us and was made to feel welcome. Our bartender even brought us a fresh bowl of water for her. We got some delicious sirloin sliders for us and doggie biscuits with PB for Ella from the food truck. My husband and I enjoyed the IPA. We tasted two different types, one more fruity and aroma, the other more hoppy. We’re hop heads and both agreed that the more hoppy one was our fav! They have a nice, shady outdoor area with Adirondack chairs, a great space to soak up the beer and sunshine these early fall days.“

I can’t tell you how many people told me this was the best wedding they had ever been to. You can’t beat the convenience of having a hotel right at the venue, it made everything seamless. Krystel the event producer, Toufik the food and beverage manager, and Andrew the inn keeper are rockstars at what they do. My wife and I could not have had a more perfect wedding.
