“We enjoyed our stay at the historic Red Lion Inn. The Inn did not disappoint in the area of ambiance, and quaintness. The Inn holds a beautiful, and elegant state of appearance in every regard. We found the suite to be accommodating and more than abundant for our needs. The comfort of the room and bed were top tier. We have zero complaints about that.
Our main issue was that lack of assistance w/ our dining reservations. Ed, the gentleman that checked us in seemed to matter of factly brush off any attempt to find us reservations for the restaurant and mentioned they were already “fully committed.” We’ve never stayed in this town and had no clue that there’s only one restaurant. In their defense, they recommend reservations in their pre-trip email. So, I’ll take the credit on that side of it.
However, we were forced to drive 10-15 mins to Lee, to dine elsewhere. We stayed at the Inn with the intention of “staying” at the Inn. That lack of accommodation felt haughty, and not something we are interested in engaging.
Second issue was related to parking and luggage. For those who opt to stay here, you’re likely going to be dragging your luggage a football fields length through mud, unless you want to block traffic/cars. The restaurant shares parking w/ the Inn guests so it’s first come, first served. Unfortunately, we came in at dinner time and that was rough. One wide open lot says “Guests Towed”, so I would avoid that section.“
