“I have eaten at the Red Lion Inn multiple times over the past 4 years. The food is always great. The dining room is old timey ....like 1800's time period and I love it. What I have noticed this year is that the food portions have gotten smaller. I understand that the price of food has risen this past year, but the plates used to be full, now they are not. A side of rice or a baked potato on the dinner plate would go along way in making the diners happy. (hint hint) Overall I still will eat there, just will have to eat dessert or an appetizer ,where before I never found that necessary.“

“This spot came highly recommended to me by a friend and it was definitely worth the stop! Incredible cocktails with a cozy/vibey interior. We had a golden milk punch- a take on a clarified punch that was perfectly crafted! Although we didn't have anything to eat here- there were several boards that went past that looked incredible!“

“Everything about this place was good. It’s a little tucked away but really cozy inside with some cool decorations. We got the Well Burger, the Mac N Cheese, and the Nachos and everything tasted delicious. There was also plenty left over to take home which is always a plus. Service was really fast and helpful even though the restaurant was full (on a Tuesday night). Overall everything was great and I have no complaints.Parking: There is a free parking lot behind the buildings and you walk around to the front to enter the restaurant.“

The Egremont Barn Bar • $$
17 Main St, South Egremont

“The Barn is excellent. The place brings in fantastic local, regional and national touring acts. The venue is really fun and while it looks small on the outside, it's big and cheerful on the inside. The sound is really clear, drink selections are excellent (but please don't order mojitos when we are stacked 3 deep at the bar!) and the burger is renowned!Dont wait for an act you've heard of to land at the Barn. Just go see someone on a flyer. You'll dig it. Viva the Barn!“

“We were traveling from Virginia to Maine and stopped in Great Barrington for the night. After looking thru Yelp suggestions and reviews for places to eat dinner we decided on Fiddleheads and we were very glad we did. You can't miss the bright blue exterior as you drive down the road. There is more than ample parking. When you step in the door you will be greeted with looks of warm wood on the floors and walls. There is a nice bar area and the TV was on the football game. We were greeted promptly and seated quickly. I commented on the fireplace at the far end of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when we were seated in front of a nice comfortable real wood burning fireplace. The server quickly greeted us and took our drink orders. My husband decided on the clam strip dinner which came with 2 sides. He chose coleslaw and Mac and cheese. He described the clam strips as sweet and perfectly cooked. The coleslaw was creamy and not over vinegary and the Mac and cheese was delicious especially the crispy top. I had a Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing and shaved Parmesan. I added grilled chicken. It was perfect! The grilled chicken was moist the salad dressing was creamy and tasted exactly how you would imagine it should. We shared a warm apple caramel crumb cobbler a la mode for dessert. YUM!! Almost forgot the onion straw appetizer! Just order them! Not greasy, perfectly cooked, and delicious! Ambience was comfortable, food was great, service was prompt and friendly. We would go back.“
