“Cappuccino and Iced Tea. Ham and Cheese Omelette and Breakfast Meat burrito. It all tasted good. Restaurant was not crowded (off season) and the background chatter sounded just right with many low volume giggles and laughter. Food came out quickly, very friendly and efficient service.Vegetarian options: I just noticed that they have vegetarian dishes on the menu. Did not order any myself.“
“The Red Lion Inn goes back to my childhood and my wife and I go there to celebrate various occasions. We have had many outstanding experiences there. This time was mostly the same but we have noticed a few changes. The menu was more limited and most of the items on it seemed to feature cream as a main component of the dish. I found one, the monkfish with quinoa, that was set in a broth based on miso and dashi instead of cream, and it was very tasty, but the description on the menu did not mention the broth, and the piece of fish was small for the price of the dish. Also in past years bread came with the meal. Now you have to order it at a separate charge. I understand that restaurants have to keep up their expenses, but the last time we were at the Red Lion Inn (less than a year ago) the bread was $3 and this time it was $8, so we passed on the bread this time. The dessert was wonderful as usual. I had the apple pie and my wife had the brown sugar cake when our server told her they had run out of the flourless chocolate cake. I've had the brown sugar cake before and it was wonderful. It normally comes with coffee ice cream but I prefer to ask them for vanilla instead. A few tables away was a family with a noisy child (old enough in our opinion to know better) but when this family finished and left the noise level in the dining room dropped significantly.“
“Went to Michael's on Sunday for lunch at the bar. We were welcomed so nicely by a great bartender, Kelly. She tended to us immediately and we told her it was our anniversary. She made sure we had great drinks and food! We had a Margarita, bloody mary, and tried a chocolate martini. We had the hugest pretzel that we loved and a Delicious Reuben sandwich and a burger with some wicked good fries. She announced our anniversary to everyone which made the day just a great time for us! We will be back to see her and thank her for being so kind and wonderful to us!“
“Alta offers excellent food in subtly decorated rooms by a reasonably trained staff at a cost premium, but we felt the experience justified opening the wallet. The reasonably priced wines offered varied in type and quality for those customers who prefer options, but definitely paired well with the given menu selections. The post dinner greeting by the owner only added to our enjoyable dining experience. Our only gripe was that we were seated next to a large group who allowed their young children to run around and make loud noise, which slightly lessened our experience, but it is what it is. We definitely recommend Alta for those visiting Lenox, MA and prefer quality food.“
“Run, don’t walk to Cello! Truly a gem in the dining scene of The Berkshires! Small, intimate and cozy with food that is so fresh and innovative! Amanda, Cody and the two incredible chefs have worked together as a team for quite some time and it shows through the energy, vibe and level of service at the restaurant. The menu changes nightly and it truly highlights the talents of the two chefs! To better sample the menu I had 3 starters as my meal, the kale caesar, the big eye tuna tartar and the clam croquettes. A perfect trifecta! Thank you guys for such a special evening!!“
“Among the finest restaurants in the northern - if not the country. Super-fresh ingredients transformed into mouthwatering delights. A warm welcome is always guaranteed, too! It’s not cheap but by the standards of today’s 5-star spots, highly reasonable. A must to visit if you’re in the Berkshires.Vegetarian options: They always have o e or two exquisite vegetarian options.Parking: Parking is right next to the restaurant. Being able to use the spaces in the lot owned by the bank next door means there is ample parking.“
“What a great experience! Amazing food cooked with good ingredients and love, perfect margaritas and the best service by Wendy. Couldn’t compliment this place enough - every single bite was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, food arrived very fast and Wendy was very kind and friendly.“
“I absolutely love this unique find. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The service was Swift and the food was excellent. A quaint little spot it was comfortable, and I quite enjoyed the music. Overall a great experience we didn't have any libation just the food and some water and everything was great. I highly recommend them as a restaurant. I'm not sure about the bar part, but going on what my experience was, I would imagine that's pretty good, too.“
“OMG! What a gem of a restaurant. Where to start? The simple elegance, excellent service, or the delicious food? I had the " Best Huevos Ranchero" and the dish lived up to its name. Perfectly seasoned and the guacamole was the best I've ever tasted. Service was impeccable and the tables were the right size for the plates without having to make arrangements to fit everything. The decor was great, kudos to the person who designed the space. Roses is a great restaurant for breakfast, my new favorite. Keep up the great eats!“
“Need a great bagel and a cup of coffee? Look no further than bagel and brew. Not the biggest menu by any means, but they have all that you could need in a bagel shop. We got an everything bagel with the buffalo cream cheese. The buffalo cream cheese has the perfect kick to it. We also got a salt bagel with scallion cream cheese that was great! Nice, small local spot that's perfect for a delicious and quick breakfast.“
“Simple setup of seating that permits flexibility in handling different party sizes. Well prepared food matches with enough variety to take care of every age group. Service is energetic and enthusiastic that assures diners of promptly served good food,Parking: On the street and behind the building parking lot made it easy.Kid-friendliness: Easy going atmosphere, decor, and service style made it clear that kids were welcome.“
“Had an amazing couple’s getaway to this cozy lodge. Very rustic feel and super homey. Great place to unplug and escape reality for a bit! Highlights included the cozy common area in the main lodge with board games and our two meals (breakfast and dinner included with the reservation) at the restaurant. We also went on a nice ~2 hour hike right from the lodge to a beautiful waterfall. A fantastic deal and we’ll be coming back!“
“What a fantastic restaurant! There was a good variety of dinner options, and the food itself was excellent! On top of that, the drink selection was amazing, with some very good local beers on tap. It also included some non-alcoholic drinks, like a berry drink with multiple colored layers, so good!We will definitely be returning when coming back to the Berkshires, and will recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!“
“I haven't been here in years and I know it's a new owner but I felt like not a lot changed. There have been some renovations and it was very comfortable there. We went for lunch but I was able to get breakfast which was really good! Great service!“
“The atmosphere was electric! The live jazz music transported every single guest to another era.The dining room was filled with happy diners, couples dancing, and smiling staff. The food was fantastic. The winter salad and a fish trio were lovely, the perfect texture and temperature. The Firefly offered a magical dining experience. Date night was a great night!“
“We were traveling from Virginia to Maine and stopped in Great Barrington for the night. After looking thru Yelp suggestions and reviews for places to eat dinner we decided on Fiddleheads and we were very glad we did. You can't miss the bright blue exterior as you drive down the road. There is more than ample parking. When you step in the door you will be greeted with looks of warm wood on the floors and walls. There is a nice bar area and the TV was on the football game. We were greeted promptly and seated quickly. I commented on the fireplace at the far end of the restaurant and was pleasantly surprised when we were seated in front of a nice comfortable real wood burning fireplace. The server quickly greeted us and took our drink orders. My husband decided on the clam strip dinner which came with 2 sides. He chose coleslaw and Mac and cheese. He described the clam strips as sweet and perfectly cooked. The coleslaw was creamy and not over vinegary and the Mac and cheese was delicious especially the crispy top. I had a Caesar salad with homemade Caesar dressing and shaved Parmesan. I added grilled chicken. It was perfect! The grilled chicken was moist the salad dressing was creamy and tasted exactly how you would imagine it should. We shared a warm apple caramel crumb cobbler a la mode for dessert. YUM!! Almost forgot the onion straw appetizer! Just order them! Not greasy, perfectly cooked, and delicious! Ambience was comfortable, food was great, service was prompt and friendly. We would go back.“
“Delicious!! Wedge salad and French onion soup to start, soup was the best I've had while here in the Berkshires. We had filet mignon and ribeye for mains; mashed potatoes, string beans and mushrooms for sides. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor. The sides were all delicious as well esp the potatoes! We didn't like the chimichurri or the horseradish sauce but the peppercorn was good! Service was good, very nice.“
“We were early and ate in the bar section. As out of towners it was fun to share in the energy of what we perceived as the locals getting out of work. Food very good with excellent service.Next time we have an opportunity to visit the Priest that married us this is where we will go.“
“This definitely isn't the type of place you want to visit if you're looking for a bunch of stuff on tap (or even a bartender who seems interested in doing much more than pouring you a one-ingredient drink), but it's fairly clean, pretty quiet, and has all the local color you'd want from a place with "Tavern" in its name.“
“Jason and team have always been consistent. I guess that's why the restaurant has been there for 25 years? Wife and I had the Boeuf Bourguignon and the Grilled Pork Chop. Both were excellent! We commented to each other that it was the best meal we've had in a restaurant all year. Thanks Bistro Zinc!“
“First time at The Elm and we really enjoyed the experience. The food was beautifully presented, and taste fantastic! High praise for the kitchen staff! The service is slow, but it seemed like it was meant to allow a relaxing dinner experience. We never had to ask for anything because the waiter checked on us at perfect intervals. We are looking forward to returning.“
“I'm pretty sure this is the best fried chicken in the Berkshires. I ordered buffalo wings with french fries and everything was perfect Our food was cooked to order, the wings were fall off the bone tender and wonderfully crumchy. The french fries tested like the were cooked in fresh clean oil. The young man behind the counter was very polite and helpful as well.“
“Excellent farm to table food - with a limited but well crafted menu. Service was great and very friendly. We liked pretty much everything we ate and enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients as well as the way it was all put together- definitely a place to go back to.Also - their menu changes quite a bit so that does make it even more interestingParking: Park on Main Street where it’s not so difficult to find space“
