“This place was amazing!! It was "date night". We were both very satisfied with the place, our food and our interactions with employees. We started with the fried potato pancakes, Delicious!! He had the chicken and waffles and I had the Cali BLT w/ onion rings. The portions are great and the prices are right!! I definitely recommend checking them out.“

“Although we were from out of town visiting friends from Sheffield, we got the strong feeling that this is the sort of place where everybody knows your name. Very friendly and attentive service, good food at affordable prices. The prime rib was top notch.“

“Absolutely the best food I have had in Great Barrington. As an avid chicken roaster, I was extremely pleased with their brick chicken. They must brine it or something because it was so tender and well seasoned throughout. On the side was a dandelion salad which converted me from being a dandelion hater. It was so good. As other reviews have said, the corn bread is an absolute must. The peach cobbler for dessert was okay, but the rest of the meal had set such a high bar that I felt it fell short.

The service was sort of mediocre. The waitress was okay, but didn’t come around very frequently and it took a long time when we needed things like a sharper knife for the chicken or the check.

Overall, I highly recommend The Prairie Whale and I hope to be back soon!“

“Listened to a talented blues band while enjoying an excellent Mezcal cocktail called the Oaxacanite, an Elk chop dinner served with mashed sweet potatoes and seasonal veggies. Excellently orchestrated, great comfortable setting, tasty food with good service.“

“They somehow managed to combine the friendliness of a local pub with the food of a fine restaurant. Highly recommend this gem. Havent tried the pizza place nectdoor but the wood fired oven makes pizza that looks delicious. I am a beer drinker but the cocktails look great! No, its not cheap but qhat is these days?“

“My husband and I stopped here in our way through Lee, MA. From the older gentleman that greeted us with a sparkle in his eye when he smiled and a great sense of humor to the wait staff ... everyone was lovely, personable and accommodating. My husband had the duck and I had the fish and chips. They came quickly and both were so delicious! The fries were especially good! Our cheese cake was equally as good! Thank-you Morgan House for a great kick off to our 52nd anniversary ! Highly recommend !“
