“I work for the owner in his other business where he has a daycare for the elderly people and he also offers home healthcare services. I also rent from him-• MY OPINIONS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MY PERSONAL LIFE- ITS ALL MY TRUTH AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES •I came in for a job from someone who knows the owner Vitaliy- she lived in one of his apartments years ago and was telling me about how great of a person he is and how he has a few gigs and I’d enjoy working for him. So I went and filled an application out for the Home Health Care Aide and I did my interviews and met with the manager Brooke and started not to soon after- one of the best decisions I’ve ever made was going in and filling the application out - Vitaliy and his managers Brooke and Julie are all the best people to work for! They actually acknowledged me not even a month into working for him about how good I’m doing - that meant everything to me, the fact that they pay attention and care about their employees and clients and also customers is a beautiful rare thing.The restaurant is a very homey place. I’m new and my husband is a veteran and he has a hard time being around people and even he loves it. My kids love going to play ping pong while the adults play pool and listen to music. It’s just an amazing atmosphere with people who make you feel like your family. My family lost everything to hurricane Ian in Florida and had to move back and the employees AND THE CUSTOMERS ( I’m telling you once you meet them and they like you and you them it’s a family - they look out for each other!! ) all rallied up to make sure we have what we needed for our apartment.I am a very outspoken, outgoing, blunt, rare individual and I’m very opinionated- I would not lie to anyone about anything- but I PROMISE you that you will love the Bar/Restaurant and everyone inside it.Thank You to everyone for making us feel welcomed! “Was staying in Cairo at the Catskills Getaway cabins, and got in after dark the first night. Didn't feel like cooking, so we found this unexpected gem along the Catskill Creek. There was only another party of 3 at the bar at the time, however the bartender quickly warmed up to us and had great conversation throughout. We started with the DJ Shrimp. Delicious, just the right bit of kick (spice heat). Then we had Chicken Milanese, and a rotating seasonal pasta called Tuscan Sausage Fusilli with EVOO, spinach and sun dried tomatoes, with a Side of focaccia bread. All were delicious, and very filling. Everything was perfect for a Birthday dinner. The liquor drinks were kind of pricey, but I should have expected that for a double Bulleit I suppose. All in all, absolutely try this gem if you come across it, you will not be disappointed for quality and ambiance.“

“Great, casual Mexican restaurant. Our server Anai was great; efficient, helpful and a bit sassy. Carnitas tacos were very good , so were the chicken fajitas and the carnitas quesadillas. The casa burger was a filling twist with chimichuri sauce. The fresh juices were a fun surprise and there were many options to choose from!“
“Fantastic food and drinks. Very fresh and carefully crafted. Very nice restaurant inside with good acoustics and lighting. The menu can be a bit difficult to decipher if you’re not familiar with Spanish but the waiters are great at explaining each item, if necessary. We felt a bit bad because we were asking the waiter about everything because we had no idea what we were reading. Overall we had a great experience and would return if we came back to the area again.“
“The four of us had a wonderful evening at the Universal Cafe last night. Dinner was absolutely delicious, creatively composed, and I can’t wait to return. Located in Germantown, NY only 30 minutes away from Rhinebeck, it’s a hidden gem that was the perfect spot on a cold Winter’s night. I started my meal with thinly sliced sweet Cara Cara oranges on a pool of peppery olive oil with crushed pistachios served ice cold… so refreshing after the decadent pâté appetizer. My cod entree was beautifully cooked and served with a silky root vegetable purée. The chocolate pot de crème finished the meal and was so good. The portions were generous, the prices very reasonable, and our server was super charming. Thank you for a wonderful night!“

“I had been to the Rooster many times for beers with friends. Always friendly bartenders, cold beer and cool atmosphere. This past weekend was my first visit here strictly for dinner (of course I had a few adult cocktails as well). With our 8 year old son in tow, we stopped in on a Thursday night around 6pm. There is a family friendly dining area as you come in the door and we were greeted and seated right away. Waitress grabbed our drink order as our son was given crayons and a kids menu. A few other families were there with their kids and numerous crayon drawings adorning the walls reassured us that this was a family restaurant. Nice menu with good variety of pub grub. It was wing night so "When in Rome". There was an all you can eat offering but neither of us had that kind of appetite so we opted for an order of boneless wings each. I got the Nashville hot and she got the Hot Buffalo. The portions were large and the sauces were great. The Nashville is a bit on the tamer side of hot and the hot buffalo was both hot and tasty. Definitely get the wings. We also got an order of the Rooster Balls. For the record, these are not actually the balls of a rooster. Chunks of white chicken wrapped in bacon and cheese and fried served with a remoulade side sauce. I'm drooling as I type that. Our son got the adult version of the chicken tenders with fries on the side. He seemed to enjoy the tenders but the fries were the star of the night. We basically cleaned his plate for him as they were cut and cooked perfectly. To summarize, great for drinks and great for a family night out. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and delicious grub. Plenty of parking, not far off the highway. And as my son would say "free wifi!". We will be back often.“
“We were passing by and saw this place; the burger was delicious, the beer and the cider were also really good. We ordered the blueberries cheese cake and it was the best cheesecake I have ever had, not too sweet and with real fresh blueberries. We will come back guys, we are happy to find a new place in this area. The music was really good too.“

“Upscale pub atmosphere with very friendly and genuine service. Across the board the food is incredible - extremely flavorful and complex making for an exciting dining experience. The half chicken dish is simply unbelievable - in a class of its own.If there were any disappointments it was only because many other dishes performed so well. My tacos are great on their own but will not be the stars of the show. The maple ice cream is very good but a bit strongly flavored for the end of the night.We will return, probably many more times.“

“I love that you can choose your own adventure at Avalon Lounge. You can see a show, eat good Korean food, hang out upstairs where it's a little quieter, play pool, or hang in the main bar. It's always a good time. I also love that they do pop-ups/markets during the day sometimes on weekends!“
