Stone Ridge Orchard Farmhouse Cider Bar Bar • $$
3012 NY-213, Stone Ridge

“Went here on Sunday for drinks before dinner and was really impressed by the bartender (I think her name was Stephanie?) and the drinks she made. The bramble was one of the best cocktails I've ever had - very unique taste, and the garden gimlet was also fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and cider. Two complaints would be about the bathroom situation (the toilet paper hadn't been replenished in the portapotties and the bathroom in the bar area was out of service). Other would just be a need for more seating.“

“We frequently drive an hour and half round trip to pick up dinner from here. It is the best Mexican food in the area, by far, and is always worth the trip.Their tortilla chips are so delicious that we get a double (or triple!) order to snack on the following day. Some of our favorites are the QuesoBurros and the Mulas De Col Rizada. The steak tacos are very good. There are dairy and gluten-free options, which we appreciate. We were missing our favorite taqueria in East Palo Alto, CA but Upstate Taco is every bit as good. We feel lucky to have such a great place close by.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free and dairy-free options available“

“Excellent special occasion restaurant in a historic environment! The ambiance is cozy and romantic, the service is kind and attentive, and the food is seasonal and delicious. Upscale “farmhouse cooking” where every ingredient feels local and intentionally included. The menu changes frequently, so don’t expect the same thing each time. However, some of our favorites such as the trout rillettes and shishito peppers are available year round.“

“We're hanging out at the dive bar down the road and the bartender there recommended we come here for some good drinks. And my oh my were they good. I never believed in the science of mixology or that a mixologist was a skilled tradesmen. But the old man who made our drinks must have been the Gordon Ramsey of Bartending. Your average bartender is a frycook by comparison. I had a few of their signature cocktails as well as a Manhatten and an old fashioned; my go-to drink so I've had a lot of them from a lot of different places, and never in my decades of life have I tasted such a perfectly mixed old fashioned. It was sublime and I doubt I'll taste its equal again in this lifetime unless I find myself in Kingston again and this man happens to be behind the bar once more. He also whipped up some scratch-made eggnog with alcohol and it was exquisite.“

Our waitress Michelle was very friendly and accommodating. The calamari appetizer had a light batter with great flavor and the halibut bites were so tasty. Main courses were strip steak, bone in pork chop with apples, chicken Lombardo and cod. All 4 of us raved over the flavors of our meals. Broccoli was amazing as well as their French fries. “Updated to add: Since writing my initial review below, just 24 hours ago, they have changed wing prices to $1/wing, 10 wings maximum, and the special only runs from 5-7. Really bummed about the change. I won't be changing the number of stars here but definitely will be visiting less frequently, as the time change and price jump doesn't work for me --------- If I could recommend one place in the Hudson valley for wings, it's the anchorage. They are SO good! Wing night is on Thursday and they are 75cents/wing with a max of 15 per person. The wings aren't small and lacking in meat like a lot of places and the flavor is incredible. This place is definitely off the beaten path (tucked inside of a boat marina) and parking is a bit small so I recommend carpooling if you can. Super relaxed and casual atmosphere. No frills or unnecessary add-ons. Just good food and a good time. Service can be a little slow, but that may be because we went on wing night. I'd say be prepared to spend a little time there. Definitely not a dine and dash. We didn't partake in the drinks but they have $5 margaritas and they looked delicious. If you love wings, you'll love this place“
