“If you’re not sure what you’re in the mood for, you need to check out MAYA Indian Bar and Grill! This was my first time trying it and it was absolutely delicious. And trust me — I am very picky when it comes to food. I’m usually the type of person who takes a few bites and I’m done… but not here! I couldn’t stop eating.

Everything was full of flavor and so fresh. Not to mention, the staff is extremely friendly — such a pleasure to talk to — and the owner is just as wonderful. They really make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in.

“We were visiting Boston and googled this place. From outside it looked like an average take out place. We were craving South Indian food so we decided to try. And to our surprise food was amazing. We had Vada Sambhar, Podi Dosa, Spring Dosa and Uttapam. All the dishes were yum. Spices, flavor and taste so balanced. Portion size of sambhar and chutneys was perfect. Sambhar was like home made no extra oil and spices. Perfect eat out for breakfast. Must try if you are in Boston.“

“This is an outstanding Indian restaurant! The food is far above average. First time dining there. The bhaingan bharta and yellow lentil dal were so delicious, and the nan was totally addictive. (Also the luncheon special which included any entree, rice and nan for $12 was an incredible deal.) The service is excellent, with friendly servers. Not only were they able to customize the seasoning to fit everyone’s preferences, but they also customized the menu specifically for our event. The two gentlemen running the truck were incredibly kind, professional, and friendly throughout the entire experience. The food was amazing, and they helped make our event extra special. “Madras Dosa Company, or “MDC” as we lovingly call it, is a comfort spot I would go to every day if I could. I’ve been going here for years now, bringing many different friends and family, with the utmost confidence that it will hit the spot each and every single time. The paneer canteen sandwich is my personal favorite (the chips and sauce accompany the sandwich so perfectly 👌🏾), but I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten including the potato sandwich, all of the chaats, dosas, vadas (the rasam is so flavorful and reminds me of home), and of course the many and salt lassis. I cannot say enough positive things about the lovely people who work here, who always greet me and my others warmly and welcomingly, and they even recognize me and my orders now (and that’s not just because I’m a frequent customer)! The atmosphere is also so warm, with Bollywood and Hollywood classics playing in the background and cool interior decoration. It’s also such a plus that MDC is open late so it satisfies that late night craving while being insanely yummy. The fact that I still bring close and new friends here these many years later shows how much confidence I have in the quality and warmth of MDC, and I hope this can continue for many years to come!!“

“In six years living in the North Shore, our family has probably eaten here five times. We have enjoyed the food each time. Service is prompt and unobtrusive. Tonight we had Saag Paneer and Paneer Tikka Masala with garlic naan and chai. Fresh, warm naan is always tasty but at some restaurants as it cools it becomes doughy and tasteless. At Rang, the naan is good hot or cool. The curries were tasty and the medium spiciness was just right. The samosas had lots of stuffing, and the wrap was not oily (an issue at many).“

The vindaloo has a really nice kick, and my wife really enjoyed the tikka masala. She is pretty picky and thoroughly enjoyed her meal, so that is about as high a level of credit as you can offer 😅

Service could improve a little. The folks don’t communicate very well.. there’s a process to getting your food and having to wait for certain items, but they don’t exactly make it clear. But it doesn’t put us off. We’re grown ups and can work it out.

Obviously you’re eating in mall food court, so this isn’t haute cuisine; but for a quick and easy decent tasting authentic Indian meal at reasonable prices, this is not bad.“

“I was visiting Boston (actually Cambridge area) for the first time and decided to check out Punjabi Dhaba in Inman Square – what a fantastic choice! As someone new to the region, I wanted to try some classic Indian dishes, and this spot delivered.
I ordered:
• Chole samosa – this was hands-down the best thing I had! The chole were perfectly spiced, flavorful, and hearty, and the samosa was crispy and delicious. Such a winning combo.
• Plain dosa and masala dosa – both were solid, with a nice crispy texture and good potato filling in the masala one. Tasty South Indian classics done right.
• Salt lassi – refreshing and perfectly balanced, great to wash everything down.
The staff made the experience even better – super friendly and welcoming! The girls at the counter were warm and helpful, and Sam was really amazing to chat with. They took the time to make a first-timer feel right at home.
The sitting area and environment were fine – casual, no-frills dhaba vibe (which fits the name perfectly), nothing fancy but comfortable enough for a quick, satisfying meal.

“The staff stayed up to attend to my order, and when it arrived from Uber Eats it was the best butter chicken I’ve ever had. Second place is my friend’s mom’s homemade butter chicken, which I thought couldn’t be beat… until now. It was just incredible. They could include more naan per order as well, 1 naan for $4 is a little much imo. But otherwise great.“
