Boxfish Seafood Restaurant Reviews
I love the environment and good service! Definitely will comeback next time!
definitely my favorite new restaurant in the boston area recently. food was great, staff was very kind, and interior is well designed and clean
Just went to the soft opening thanks to Professor Ed's story post on Instagram.
The uni butter sauce was a little too salty for me, but the rest of the flavors with the umami briny uni flavor were luxuriously blended and balanced. I absolutely loved the Moonlight Kiss cocktail—Tasted like the Chinese chrysanthemum tea juiceboxes (iykyk), cold, refreshing, and strong. I didn't finish because I forgot to ask for light liquor even though I'm a lightweight.

Boxfish Seafood Restaurant is a lovely local neighborhood restaurant that gives good food at great prices. It is owned by the same family that operates another Watertown staple, and they keep the same level of quality in both food and service. The decor is cute, inviting, and minimal, with plates with painted sea creatures. The brand feels genuine and carries throughout the place—new, hip, but not trying too hard.
The clam chowder and lobster bisque were delicious and very reasonably priced, and the miso cod was delicious and super savory. The fisherman's platter was the best item, with scallops that were incredibly tender, followed by the shrimp. The grilled octopus was good, and the clam linguini had al dente linguine with a garlicky wine flavor sauce. The tuna tacos were delightful, and the Moonlight Kiss cocktail tasted cold, refreshing, and strong. The Mango Shrimp was packed with delicate and balanced flavor. The New England Fish Sandwich was thoroughly satisfying, and the Crab Conchiglioni was lovely and well seasoned. The seafood paella is a great deal for $35 and had lobster tail, muscles, shrimp, and clams. The yuzu tart curd was a bit sour, but the brown butter pecan ice cream was divine. The service was lovely and attentive. It is a bit pricey, but the care for quality is visible.
