“Ahmed, the owner, is a great and generous man. He has created a perfect place if you want to go somewhere with a great atmosphere, where the staff is friendly and accommodating to all needs. I have been there a few times now and every time have felt welcome, and have been served excellent food. Their breakfast sandwiches are perfect if you need a quick bite to eat before work, or if you go for lunch their menu is excellent offering a wide variety of selections. I honestly would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for something great to eat in the Brighton area of Boston.“
“The food is nice and surprisingly tasty. The falafel is nicely presented and shawarma is on point! The plate serving is big in my opinion. The staff is very nice and always smiling!! Highly recommend for tourist whose looking for a local taste“
“They added a self order kiosk right when you walk in so saves time from waiting in line to order. Best part is still being able to get your own sauce so you can get a variety or a little bit of each one for enhanced flavor. They always keep it clean inside and the sauce counters are always clean.“
“I ordered online through Uber Eats. Food is excellent. Let me tell you, when they say sliders, they are actually regular sized buns with HUGE pieces of chicken. Chicken is so big, it hangs about 2 inches outside each side of the bun. I usually get the "extra hot" seasoning, and it's pretty good for someone who likes hot stuff. BEWARE: The Reaper spice is NO JOKE. DO NOT order this if for one second you think you may not be able to handle it. It's just way too much. The jump from "Extra hot" to "Reaper" is like going from 0-120. I also get the Mac and cheese. Very very good Mac and cheese. Sandwiches come with pickles and Dave's Sauce. Excellent 10/10 ??“
“We usually order from a different Shawarma place in Somerville, but decided to give Sam's a try. The food was very good, and in good sized portions. They were good about following requests to leave things out of the wraps. Note that they do the style with fries on the side rather than in the wrap. My only complaint is that they list some, but not all, of the ingredients on their site. So if you have things you can't eat, I definitely recommend calling them to double check. My partner can't do creamy sauces, and they listed tahini sauce but not garlic sauce in the lamb/beef shawarma, which ended up being a problem. Not a huge thing, just annoying that they make it look like everything is listed when it isn't.“
“My friend and I were craving Mediterranean food, so we decided to try Sufra - and it did not disappoint. Being from the Mediterranean myself, I am usually very critical of Mediterranean food, but this was truly amazing. Everything was so good, and I have to say the highlight of the meal was the baba ganoush and the shawarma. I had not had good shawarma in Boston until I tried Sufra's - it tasted so authentic and just like home! And the baba ganoush was to die for - the flavor was perfect. The staff are friendly, the food came quick, the portions are huge and the food is also decently priced. I had a very positive experience in Sufra - I will definitely be returning soon and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Mediterranean meal.“
“A must-not miss restaurant! Physically, one of the most beautiful restaurants you will find. The service and presentation were excellent. Very family friendly. The bread is baked on premise in a wood oven. It is served with an array of dipping sauces. My companion and I each had Kourma Challow with Lamb. I had that feeling of: this food is so delicious that I want to eat every morsel, but the portions are so plentiful that I can't. Helmand is delightful!“
“I'm absolutely smitten with this place! The falafels were bursting with flavor and had the perfect texture. Though the wrap was a bit too moist for me, it didn't ruin the experience. Plus, you get generous portions at reasonable prices. Can't wait to go back!“
“This is such a wonderful addition to the halal food scene in Boston! This restaurant is tucked away, in a small Asian food court, and is a hidden gem! The food portions are large, and each entree is fresh and packed with a bunch of flavor (and “spicy” is actually spicy here, haha). We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodles, Samsa, and Chicken entrees and they were wonderful! We will definitely be coming back soon!!!“
“Silk Road has become our family's go-to spot whenever we're craving something special. We've lost count of the number of times we've dined here, but every visit feels like a new adventure. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it never disappoints. And guess what? Our kids are totally into it too! Sure, some dishes can pack a bit of heat, but just give the server a heads up.The place is limited in space and they do not take reservations so sometimes it feels like a bit of a squeeze. But hey, that's part of the charm, right? Just be prepared for a bit of a tight squeeze, especially if you're rolling in with a big crew.Overall, Silk Road gets a big thumbs up from us. Whether you're a die-hard fan of Uyghur food or just looking for a fun family outing, this place won't disappoint.“
“Absolutely love the menu ! My husband loves the lamb and I love chicken on the rice and gyros here. One suggestion though, change the pitas for gyros all the sauce leaks through when you are trying to eat the gyro and you end up messing everything with the sauce. But overall 10/10“
“Well seasoned and delicious. My first time going it tasted like comfort food already. Friendly staff in a quiet atmosphere. I got the mint tea which was extremely refreshing and unsweetened. Bonus points for playing a rerun of an old baseball game.“
“Incredible food — some of the best tikka kebab and falafel we’ve had in a lonngggg time. Super authentic, local, incredibly friendly and delicious. There’s nothing more I love than finding a great hole in the wall and this is it. MUST get the baklava.Vegetarian options: Falafel“
“Food was really good here! They cooked the chicken very well. I've been here twice already and the staff have been friendly and patient. Never had to wait too long for the food to be served (usually 10 minutes with other customers present). Everything on the menu is halal. Parking is convenient with a garage next door that allows up to 3 hours of free parking. Will definitely be visiting again!“
“This Dave’s hot chicken location has an amazing atmosphere. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon looking for something quick to eat. The lady at the register took our order really quickly and our order came was ready in no time. I love the art on the walls which enhanced my dining experience. Overall this location is amazing and sanitary.“
“Jo's is one of the best Indian restaurants around. The service was excellent and the food was superb. The restaurant has a very warm, welcoming, serene atmosphere. I love this place! I don't understand why the ratings for this restaurant is not a lot higher, it should be a lot higher. Don't be deceived by the bad ratings and reviews. I recommend giving this place a try, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.“
“Upon entering, the aroma of exotic spices and freshly baked bread wafts through the air, awakening your senses and igniting your appetite. The décor is a fusion of modern elegance and traditional charm, with intricately designed carpets adorning the floors and soft, ambient lighting casting a golden glow over the space. But it is the menu that truly steals the show. Bursting with an array of authentic Middle Eastern dishes, each offering is a masterpiece crafted with precision and passion. Begin your culinary adventure with an assortment of mezes, from creamy hummus and smoky baba ghanoush to crispy falafel and tangy tabbouleh, each bite bursting with flavor and freshness. For the main course, prepare to be transported to the streets of Beirut or the markets of Marrakech with an array of mouthwatering options. Indulge in tender lamb kebabs, succulent shawarma, or fragrant tagines, each dish a symphony of spices and textures that dance on your palate. No Middle Eastern feast would be complete without a sweet finale, and DARNA certainly delivers on that front. From decadent kunafa dripping with honey and nuts to creamy, rose-scented rice pudding, each dessert is a celebration of indulgence and tradition.“
“My friend and I were looking for a spot to get some dinner before a Celtics game and we were walking by New York Shawarma Guys on the way to the arena and decided to go there. We were there under an hour before tip off and it wasn’t overly busy which was nice!I ordered the lamb shawarma wrap and forgot to ask for it to be spicy, but they gave me some hot sauce on the side. The wrap was made very quickly and was tasty with a good portion of lamb. It was a pretty big wrap and left me feeling full by the time I finished it. The beef in my buddy’s falafel and beef shawarma wrap had some pieces that were pretty tough, but the shawarma wraps were good overall. When I asked about the deal that I saw on a sign out front to get a drink for free when you order a Shawarma wrap, I was told that that was just for lunch but I could grab a can of soda anyway, which was really kind of them. The service was great!Hard to beat for $12 each downtown Boston! I’ll be back!“
“I recently dined at Ali Baba Cafe, and it was a delightful experience. I started with the lahmacun and sautéed eggplant as appetizers, both of which were incredibly flavorful. The eggplant dish, in particular, deserves special mention for its underrated brilliance. The lahmacun was also a standout, perfectly capturing the essence of Turkish flavors. For the main course, I opted for the Doner Kabob, and it did not disappoint. The authenticity of its preparation was evident in every bite. My parents enjoyed the Iskender and Adana Kabob, and their satisfaction mirrored my own. Overall, my visit to Ali Baba Cafe was a culinary delight, reminding me why I fell in love with Turkish cuisine in the first place. If you're ever in Boston, this is a must-visit for any food enthusiast craving an authentic taste of Turkey.“
“It's not very often that my requests of extra extra extra extra extra extra extra toppings in my milkshake is fulfilled, but every now and then it is and the employees at Dave's hot chicken nailed it. +++for having chicken alternativesVegetarian options: Cauliflower sliders“
“Truly truly truly the greatest halal food you'll find in Boston. The Super Shawarma Sandwich is delectable, with crunchy fries and melty cheese on the inside leaving you wanting more with each bite. I also tried the Mixed Grill Plate which had an assortment of their grilled kabob meats (lamb, chicken, kafta, chicken kafta) - all phenomenal! Great service as well, they always make me feel like family. Stop by and enjoy the best halal eats in Boston.Vegetarian options: Falafel, Babaganoush, Hummus“
“In Massachusetts this is the cleanest restaurant.Specially restrooms, cutlery, dishes are cleaner than all other’s restaurants in Boston area and around. And no doubt about halal option. Some other restaurants I always doubt about halal option.Only one thing I can say there’s portions a bit small.Like in biriyany they give very little portion of meat and some dishe are very little portion. They can increase portions and price“
“We didn't know what to expect from Pakistani Mexican cuisine but, damn, it was delicious! The staff was so kind, making us feel so welcome. We ordered the butter chicken, samosas, cheese naan (pretty much a less greasy quesadilla) and the mango lassi (mmmm that was a good mango lassi). Would go back - both for the food and the experience. Thanks!“
“Food was very cold when I received it. The chicken wings I purchased tasted like rubber. My kids wouldn't even eat it. The pizza was just ok. I'll never order from them again when I'm in the area. Definitely better options around.I was able to talk to the owner and he made the situation right and the food was much better this time around. Thank you“
“Expand your culinary pallet with the cuisine at Ashur Restaurant. One thing is for sure each time you visit Asher: The food is delicious, and you are most certainly welcome. The sambusa are great! Don't forget to ask for the busbus sauce! The house sauce is homemade, and if you don't get it, you're severely missing out.If you haven't been here yet, you're missing an absolute gem. Come get some delicious, authentic cuisine ASAP.“
“I ordered garlic bread and a large Primavera pizza, which is larger than the large pizzas at other pizzerias. The pizza came with a good amount of toppings, and the thin crust is also great! However, I would have liked the crust to be crisper. Overall, it was a good quality pizza at a reasonable price. They have a lot of options for vegetarians, which is a plus.“
“The food is good especially, Pizzas are so delicious. But need deep clean, so dirty. Bad example for other culture people when they visit (it's in downtown). The toilet faucet can be fixed for $50. Just look at YouTube and change buy yourself. Tables are so oily.“
“I placed a big order for work and everyone raved about their orders. I am a little disgusted, in myself, for inhaling my lamb shawarma roll up and not savoring the flavors more. We will definitely be ordering again. Also quick delivery and food was fresh.“
“Wonderful place to have halal food. The taste is really superb. Very courteous staff and very helpful. Decent seating area for dine in. The platter bowls are really superb. Falafel is also wonderful. Would definitely recommend anyone to try out the food here.“
“I have been enjoying Chicken and Rice guys since it was a line of food trucks!Whether you order from the kiosk or the counter the food comes out immediately - they know how to move the lunch crowd along. I always get the chicken on rice. And I usually get the garlic sauce, the barbeque sauce or some mix of the two. It's consistently good, but your other options are tofu or gyro - but I've never had either. They have cans of soda (coke company!) and some house made beverages. Always a delicious meal. This is the only brick and mortar location I've ever been to - and though I liked the Cheeseboy that was here years before, Chicken and Rice guys is a step up. (The cheeseboy lives on in a rectangular garbage slot in the center trashcan console that is the exact shape of the cheeseboy sandwich boxes)My less favorite things. The Kiosk is right in front of the door, so if a customer is slow at the kiosk, folks queue up and block the door. I'm also not a fan of the hard plastic to go containers.“
“I got two words for you: kebab pizza. It's not on the menu, but if you ask for it, they'll make - and it's damn delicious. This place is a knockout, good vegan options, and the Turkish-inspired flavors really zhuzh things up. If you're looking for some comfort food with style, Tarboosh has gotchu.“
“I've passed this place a bunch of times in their old downtown location and I was always curious. I finally had the opportunity to come in today (to their new place at 92 Bedford street) and I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered a meat combo plate with lamb curry, mater paneer, naan bread, rice and a vegetable samosa and all were excellent! The samosa in particular I liked, it didn't taste frozen or old like they sometimes do. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The mater paneer was a little soupy but was still good and made a nice gravy for the rice. There aren't many options for Indian food in downtown so it's very nice to have this place to go to. I will definitely come back!“
“So friendly and delicious food and tea.I wanted to try Chebakia, because I know it’s special for Ramadan and Ramadan just ended. Thankfully they had some! Super sweet. Not my favorite item. But they made unsweetened mint tea for me, and I enjoyed the chicken and beef pastries.Apparently there will be a full kitchen of foods within the next few weeks, so I’ll have to come back to try!“
“I'm addicted to this place! tastes exactly like my mom's cooking, which says a lot. Best turkish restaurant I've had in Massachusetts. there are a lot of good turkish places here actually (I've tried 5), but this once takes the prize. and very friendly service!“
“Their scallion lamb dish is superb. Complex flavors, intriguing vegetables and greens in the dish and highest quality lamb in generous quantities. A surprise and a pleasure. Be sure to order the side of rice. While the lamb skewers were also good - again the great lamb - be sure you like cumin - the predominant spice. Both are good, the scallion lamb, though, is great.“
“An authentic kebob odyssey in Watertown.I’ve been on a hunt for good kebob recently and stumbled upon this spot. Since Watertown is known to have some of the most authentic kebob experiences in the Greater Boston area, I had high hopes, and Roksana’s lived up to that. When I first tried their signature Koobideh, I was absolutely blown away. These minced beef kebobs were juicy, flavorful, and impeccably cooked. The addition of egg yolk brushed pita bread, coupled with the simple perfection of rice and tomatoes, made the experience even more satisfying. On my subsequent visits, I also had the lamb and beef soltanis. Beef kabob was slightly better, but both were good.In their refrigerated section, they also have some good yogurt spreads. So far, I’ve tried the eggplant and shallot spread, and although a tad more expensive, the eggplant spread definitely stood out more with its subtle smokiness. If you’re planning a visit, just make sure that you place the order via phone in advance as it might take around 20 minutes for the food to get ready. While the journey to get there might be a bit lengthy, the destination will be worth every mile traveled.“
