We ordered a range of food - our favorite was the salmon, yet the vegetable spring rolls, spinach triangles, shrimp, cheese/fruit platter and cookie platter were all delicious. “My team contracted Forklift Catering for a high-profile Harvard event early this year. Forklift's professional sales and event management team were incredible partners in the development and execution of a spectacular event every step of the way. They were always available to address any question or concern and were so adaptable to every plan change (down to just days before the event). They even functioned as our florist and arranged breathtaking floral displays to enhance the ambience. The catering staff and chef produced and provided great food that were the highlight of the event; I heard from everyone how much they enjoyed it (even had some on-call colleagues who gladly answered our calls because they knew they were going to be fed great food during their shift). But the best part was the food, from appetizers to dinner to 4 flavors of wedding cake! “This was quite literally the best meal I've had in months. The jerk chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender and absurdly delicious. The rice and peas are perfectly seasoned and cooked and the fried plantains are some of the best I've ever had. Don't sleep on this place! It's primarily a take-out spot, but there are a few seats at the counter if you want to eat in. The service is warm and welcoming, and the food is fantastic and made with love.“
“All the food is really good here. I have never had a bad meal. Portions are huge. Today I had the half pound hamburger on a fresh Italian roll, with fries. The burger had to be held with two hands, the fries are better than McDonalds. Best pizzas in the Framingham area. Meatball sub is delicious. Chicken Parm dinner is really good, you'll take half of it home. Steak and cheese sub is one of the best ones around.“

Some of it still has that feel, but the owners have modernized over the years, so, instead of a tired diner, Mel’s is a comfortable restaurant with that old-time feel. The waitstaff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The food choices are diverse and interesting. We found our breakfast exactly as expected – eggs cooked as ordered, decent home fries, bread fresh. Mel’s salad offerings are surprising, and our choice, the Mandarin, was fresh and yummy.“
