I'm can't tell if it's the roast or the brew settings/technique, but it would be a good idea to for the head roaster and head barista to dial in their settings. There are clear markers of specialty coffee in the cup, but the bitterness and grassy-ness are overwhelming and manifest as faults.“

“As far as banh mi go, this one is a solid four stars. I went with the BBQ pork and asked for no aioli. The bread was perfectly crusty, the pickled vegetables tasted great and were cut well, as were the fresh jalapeños. I liked the flavor and smokiness on the BBQ pork, but I wish the temperature on it had been anything above room temperature. There were also a couple of overly fatty pieces that should have been trimmed.

The service and atmosphere leave a bit to be desired. The restaurant, at least when I visited, was quite messy. I understand that the sandwiches generate a lot of crumbs, but I think it would help a lot to more regularly wipe down the tables and chairs. I had to wipe off my table and chair when I entered, as did another party I saw come in after me.

I'm also not a huge fan of the QR code ordering system. For such a small place, it feels quite impersonal. Lastly, the cans of soda come out warm. They do provide a cup with a small amount ice, but the cup really ought to be full of ice in order to properly cool down the warm can. In my case, all of the ice was melted as soon as I poured in half a can. Warm soda is just not pleasant.

I think I would order take out next time to avoid the issues they have with dining in. I did very much enjoy the banh mi, but the service issues were a bit perplexing.“

“Came into today to make a delivery both people working where incredibly nice I'll tell you it's extremely rare to meet genuinely happy and kind people nowadays I would highly recommend stopping in and checking them out based off that alone. I got a lemon iced tea it was so good and refreshing but they have a huge drink menu if the rest of the drinks where as good as this it's definitely worth trying. Again 5 stars based of service and just being good people.“

“Really fast service. I ordered a peach cream matcha and it was really good. A lot of variety in drinks, a lot more than Gongcha's, and I personally prefer these flavors as well. The boba itself was really good, consistently sweet and chewy. Goncha and Kung Fu Tea are similarly priced, so it's up to you on which flavor or boba floats your boat, however I would choose Kung Fu Tea over Gongcha any day.“

“Love this spot!! I had the ube milk tea with ube pudding. It was great. It reminded me of a milkshake. It was very sweet so if you have a sweet tooth this drink is definitely for you! I also had the veggie pan fried buns and they came out so fresh and flavorful. Definitely a favorite on the menu. The only thing is you may have to wait quite a bit for your item. Definitely do not come here for a quick grab and go trip. Try ordering ahead. Good food quality takes time.“

“Just finished eating a plain bagel with jalapeño cream cheese here I almost didn't go because I know their bagels are best when they're fresh and it's getting close to two in the afternoon, but there's a spot out front so I figured I'd try anyway, and just my luck they had a fresh batch of plain bagels that just finished cooking. They were just as good as I remember them being in high school and honestly, the shop looks almost exactly; the same staff are friendly as always and I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Needham. “Change can be hard. When we learned that Acton Coffee House was sold and that changes were going to be made, we were skeptical. After all, what was wrong with the old format? Chris & Meredith, the new owners had big ideas. They excitedly mentioned some of the changes that they'd planned, including the new seating arrangements. Could that possibly work for our often crowded daily morning group? We weren't sure. But Chris has been accommodating and solicitous, and assured us that he'd make it work for us ~~ And he has.
In addition, new yummy food offerings are now available ~ bagels & lox, avocado toast, yogurt parfaits, and overnight oats. (My husband's favorite)
As before, the barristas are friendly, competent, and cheerful.
The only change that disappoints me (and this is minor), is the placement of the baked goods. I used to derive great pleasure in watching the young children walk up to the pastry window at their eye level, trying to decide which of the treats to choose..

“They try really hard to make sure you are happy with your order. The coffee has that refined, pleasant, Colombian character to it. It is always well roasted and ground, I have never had an “off” cup here. The little treats they sell are delectable.“

The shop itself is fairly bare-bones on the interior, but there’s a decent amount of seating inside and outside. There was no line when we went, but I imagine it is much busier during the school year. Excellent ice cream, but it lacks the accouterments of a a fun New England summer ice cream spot.
