“If you haven't been at Yafa bakery & cafe, u r missing out! I went today for the first time & I had the most amazing and delicious experience. This is the real authentic Palestinian kitchen & food. Amazing assortment of everything made from the best healthy ingredients. Hand crafted by the owner who's hospitality is graciously inviting. Everything I tried was so wonderful with the real taste that I know from home! I was so overwhelmed, the healthy ingredients, like the cardamom tea or the fresh mint juice or the nuts that are used into these recipes, you will be thankful & happy. Thank you for your hospitality, you made us so happy today. WOW is understatement, will be back!“

“Sip of Joy is a lovely spot in the South End to enjoy a drink and pastry. The service is friendly, and the space is bright and welcoming. There are different types of seating, including counter stools and a large table.I got a plain croissant that was warmed up, and an iced chai latte. Both were tasty, but while I wouldn't get the croissant again, there were other treats that I want to try in the future.“

“Best coffee shop in spring Hill, and gives everything in Davis a run for their money easy. Always a line out the door on weekends and deservedly, but they move fast. Great pepper biscuits, great yogurt. BLT is weirdly bad but the turkey sandwich is great.“

“I kid you not - one of the best breads I've had in a while. There's a reason why people wait in line for this place. (Don't worry the lines aren't too long and go pretty quickly). I bought some croissants and a Demi baguette - it was foolish of me to think I'd wait till I was home to eat the baguette! Worth the visit and can't wait till I'm back! Also can't wait to try the coffee bar next door...“

“I went for the raving reviews but I found this place perfectly adequate. The cream of wheat was indeed the star of the show. It came quickly and hot, but then it was about a 45-50 minute wait for our mains. We went on a Sunday morning so maybe this is as slammed as they get but I wouldn’t recommend if you are super hungry. It also took about 20 minutes to get a table, but you can put your name on a wait list and they have free coffee outside which is a nice touch. The mains were decent… far from the best breakfast I’ve ever had but it was fine enough. Also heads up if you’re visiting from out of town/out of country it’s cash or venmo only.“

“This small shop was a very nice surprise for me! They're known for chocolate croissants, and they were, indeed, very good here. I got them fresh, and they were very fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The chocolate was also pretty warm, and so it pretty much melts in your mouth. For me, this was even the case 30min after I got my croissant. Also good, for more savory items, were their foccacias. I forgot the name, but I got one with Italian sausage and tomatoes. Very nice, as the sausage was quite flavorful, and the foccacia, while a bit oily, wasn't overly so. The bread was still nice and crispy, too. I would definitely visit this place again, and try their other items. I saw one of their toasted cookies that looked really good, so that's maybe something l want to try, next time.“

“Decided to stop in while on Newbury Street, cute café with upstairs and downstairs seating. I got the apple desert and it was really good! $9.25 for it but it was totally worth it! Really creamy cheesecake with apple filling and a chocolate cooking crunch cake1Can't wait to go back and try more one day!“

“Very kind staff from the start! Can't quote me, but I believe I ordered a Banana Babka? No sign next to the pastry to confirm, but it was GOOD. It was dense, yet flaky with the right amount of sweetness for my taste buds. After a brisk walk in the park, this was a fantastic bakery to check out and treat ourselves to. We didn't stay for long, but with the ample space they have within, it looks to be a great spot to work on a laptop or hang out and connect.“

“I didn’t realize what a Boston staple I stumbled upon with bova was until seeing all these reviews! We got two cannolis and a Boston cream donut. I don’t think I’ve ever had a donut so good in my life. The cannolis travelled 7 hours in a cooler and were still fresh and delicious once eaten.I must have lucked out when I was there because unlike other reviews, there was no line at all and it wasn’t busy. (Sunday morning, 10:30 am).It was a great and totally matches the hype!“

“We've passed by this bakery quite a few times and weren't disappointed when finally getting to try it out! They serve a variety of Haitian savory and sweet treats which are bound to satisfy any craving. The interior is pretty small so definitely more of a grab-and-go spot, but felt clean and homey. We got a patty and a cake to share, both of which were pretty delicious! The patty took a bit of time to heat up, but other than that, service was pretty solid. The price wasn't too bad, albeit a bit on the pricier side, and overall, I wouldn't mind coming back to some of their other selections in the future. For a local bakery, definitely worth visiting and supporting!“

“I miss living close to Vinal! It's a cozy little women-owned spot with plenty of smiles and great vibes. The homemade English muffins are delicious, especially when ordered as a breakfast sandwich. I'm a big fan of the maple lattes as well, not overly sweet but still decadent.Dietary restrictions: Pumpkin seed pesto is a lovely menu inclusion for a nut allergic individual!“

“Exquisite pastries. The hazelnut cream, the tarte au citron were 2 of my favorites. The meringue on the tarte was so airy, the hazelnut flavor light and moreish. Coffee eclairs have a depth of flavor...and well the chocolate fondant and cake were all one could expect. Very buzzy at 11 am and service with a smile!“

“My sister-in-law just sent me and my wife a door dash order to cheer us up, with cold brew and two pains au chocolat. I took one bite and… wow. Buttery but light and flaky, cooked just right - understated perfection in a bag! I grew up in France, and this is honestly one of the best French pastries I have had in 28 years living in the US. Even in France it's not every day you find one this good! We’ll be going there for more, can’t wait to try what else they have to offer!“

“Well ok, I admit the cookies are good, it's expensive but mama the taste. On the other hand, the new lemon cookie which is $4.75 instead of $4.25 would be a matter of dosing. The uncooked dough still of course falls in the stomach. Still a line but it goes quickly.“

“I tried the breakfast burrito and the nutella cruffin. I had heard great things about the burrito so I was excited to try it! Overall it was pretty tasty but I felt it could have used a little more spice or seasoning. There was plenty of filling so you definitely get your moneys worth. The cruffin was super delicious and so flakey. The nutella filling really hit the spot. I'll definitely be back to try more pastries!“

“First off, the donuts and pastries are mouth-watering delicious. The Kroffle with whipped cream and fruit are to die for, especially with a speciality ice coffee in your hands. I love the matacha flavors; so true to the authentic kind used in Japanese treats and made me feel like I was back in Kyoto.Service was and is amazing! DoorDash was struggling to find the correct drop off address so the owner personally delivered it to me and adjusted the price. Couldn't have been nicer about the whole deal and went the extra mile to ensure I had everything. If you haven't gone yet, go! It's worth the drive and Waltham doesn't do meters so park and enjoy a slice of homemade donuts. They don't make them like this and for kids of the 90s, get the Fruity Pebble donut with a tall glass of milk or bask in the joy of a waffle with cream and fruit and Oreo cooking sticking out! ?“

“I recommend nothing after seeing how terribly they treated a customer this afternoon at the medford sq location. guy came in to pickup pre-ordered cake that was paid for. he was told they didn't have the cake. no apology, no offer deliver cake in the morning.....NOTHING. THE customer finally asked for the only 2 cakes left which were much smaller than cake ordered. he wanted happy birthday written on the cakes and was told it couldn't be done....not sure why. 30 minutes before closing time. the beaten down guy said...I'll take those 2 cakes in replace of the cake I ordered that you failed to make. I was literally floored when the kid behind counter said ...we can't just give you those cakes. you have to pay for them. this could have been handled so many ways better. and again, not one we are sorry. none of the stuff here is anything great...the guy should have went and got a cake at the grocery store. when businesses mistreat and disrespect their customers that's it for me. modern pastry is a small business....I've seen customers treated much better at wal.art and Costco. shame on modern pastry“

“This is a cozy little bakery in Newton. There are a good variety of pastries and cakes offered. You don't need to order cakes ahead of time, as there were several on display and available when we went. Staff were friendly, plenty of street (metered) parking. Decent prices and the things we tried were delicious. The cookies and cream cake looked good and tasted great. The lobster tail was of decent size and the cream filling was excellent and not overly sweet or bland. I'd come here again for cakes and pastries.“

“Even though they are famous for there sweet desserts….try the bagels!!! I never new challah bagels where a thing but they are incredible here. But I have been here several times where they have nothing for their bagels. Today there was no lox, no cream cheese, and no tomatoes. So -1 one star for that. If you can live through that the bagels are delicious and worth driving home for your own cream cheese. Also the coffee is really food too.“

“I stopped in here with a friend after a long walk and I'm so glad we went here. We got there not too much before closing, but they were just as friendly and accommodating as if we got there first thing. They have a ton of options, including plenty for vegetarians and vegans. I got the breakfast burrito (as I am seemingly always craving one) and my friend got the caprese. I was tempted by the treats they had in the display case, but we opted just to get our sandwich/burrito. Our food came out quickly and was perfectly made. I really appreciated that the egg in my burrito was bodega-style which made it so much less messy to eat. My friend practically devoured her sandwich; she thought the maple balsamic was so tasty and the veggies and pesto were really fresh. She has food allergies and was really happy with how much they laid out what was and wasn't in the food. They had convenient parking and plenty of outdoor tables. I will definitely come back when I'm in town.“

“I love the people here; they carry a friendly, honest, warm attitude as flavorful as the pastries that are baked here. I have gotten a large oat milk latte and four pastries that are recommended by the staff. The latte was perfectly heated to combat the current Boston cold winds. The pastries were all not overpowering! I loved how light they were and how nicely they can be paired with a latte. (1) Blueberry muffin (2) Ham and cheese croissant (3) Cinnamon bun - a classic (4) Sugar Brioche bun I went to this inspired by my previous lab PI introducing the breakfast sandwich with light mayonnaise. The egg is so soft. I love the location and atmosphere of the cafe that is suitable for delightful conversations and studying with headphones.“

“Quick service and yummy bagel! It was crowded but not too bad on a Saturday. The market is a great place to walk around. The bagels were a little hard and therefore tough to eat, wish they were a little fluffier. When I bit down the inside cream cheese all came out making it messy. Worth the mess, super fresh ingredients and good portion size. Loved this and want to come back to try more“

“The menu is quite expansive, so this is a good catering option. I love middle eastern/Mediterranean food, so I’ve tried a lot of different places in Boston. Compared to other places, I wouldn’t say Sultana’s makes the cut for my favorites, but it wasn’t bad.- Spinach feta quiche: The portion size is good, but the flavor was bland. I wasn’t able to finish it.- Cookies: The cookies weren’t overly sweet, which I liked. They were crumbly yet soft.- Fruit yogurt pastry: This was my favorite. I liked that they are bite-sized (though, this is also dangerous because you’ll end up eating a lot). The pastry was flaky, and the yogurt was sweet, which balanced the tartness of the fruits.- Caprice acma: I wasn’t a fan of this. The acma was too doughy. Maybe it would have tasted better warm.Happy to have tried a new place, but I probably wouldn’t come back.“
“I'm obsessed with their quiche and if you call 48 hours ahead of time (I've even gotten away with less), you can pre-order a whole one. This is my new superpower. Everyone loves the person who shows up with a gigantic delicious quiche and it couldn't be easier. Everything else is divine and this place takes all my money, but man. That quiche. *chef's kiss*“

“Cute and homely bakery in the Italian part of Boston, just on the tip of North End. You will probably navigate to another bakery closeby, but this one is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Timings don’t show accurately on Google Maps since the lady at the counter doesn’t have access to update the timings, so if you’re in the area - just go and check it out. They are open overnight, bake their own bread, have madeleines, cookies, rugelach, shortbread, and some pastries and pizza too. Prices are very reasonable too. Must try their whole wheat baguette, it’s so fresh.“

“We got the mango mousse cake for a birthday. It came in a big box tied off with ribbon and two little candles taped to the box. We opted for no writing on the cake because we prefer the fruit top. It should be pretty obvious to the birthday person whose cake it is anyways. I liked that the cake was barely sweet, there was no frosting on the outside! Just thinly sliced fresh mango. The combo of the mango and the slightly sweet cake is the right amount of dessert for me. The cake is slightly denser than Western cake— same texture as angel food cake but not nearly as sweet. The 9-inch cake was more than sufficient for 8 people. Highly recommend; it’s beautiful, tasty and unique.“
