“I really love the breakfast egg sandwich. It is made to order and has the pillow iest puff bread wrapped along this light egg patty with fantastic sauce on both ends. I thought the matcha latte I ordered was quite a bit chalky textured and not as tasty as the sandwich. I also appreciate the business does not expect tips but built a 12% service charge into the menu for its staff.“

“The specialty drinks - coffees and juices are delicious! Love the egg plate with goat cheese and thick toast . My friends liked their food too. Friendly staff. Sometimes a little bit of a wait for food and cleaning of tables. Bathrooms are clean.“

“The food was delicious, a great variety, and though we were limited to just certain items by the venue, Jason worked with us and came up with something terrific. The food came very early, which was my only disappointment. I thought it would arrive at 4 PM but they were already there at 2 PM, however that was likely the venue that made that decision. I would work Ovenbird again in a heartbeat, and I’m very pleased with what they did for our memorial service.“

“Child rating - 5 stars
The idea of this place is sweet and charming and it is by far one of the most affordable “high-tea” experiences in the area. I appreciated that it had a kids menu as the point of our reservation was to dress up fancy and celebrate my 8 year old daughter. For her this place checked all the boxes, so thank you!!
Adult rating - 2-3 stars
As an adult I do have a few complaints. The Belmont location is very understaffed with one waitress for a full room of tables. This caused our wait times to be quite long and the service to be poor, which I had seen mentioned in other reviews before booking. Also the attention to the quality of what was served was very underwhelming, again possibly due to an over stretched waitress. We were not offered any honey or lemon or cream options to go with our tea, and when heavy cream was directly requested we were given a small dish of milk. Also my daughter’s hot chocolate was so thin it looked like tea. The place was packed, so clearly a very appealing idea for the area but the management just needs to invest in their idea better with a bit more organization, attention to detail and staff.“

“The most delicious pastries ever. If you love pistachio the way I do you will have trouble choosing and it is ALL great. But I particularly love the savories. The Palestinian bread and the flatbread with the green topping (forget what it's called) is a family favorite. We adore these; the flatbreads are a great quick lunch. But so so delicious, fresh, we are so fortunate to have you here!“

“What a treat to find this little French bakery in Somerville! The cardamom bun this morning was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside with just a bit of caramelisation at the bottom and really nice amount of cardamom - which can often be lacking in cardamom buns. The pain au chocolat was still warm and the chocolate was soft. The entire thing melted in my mouth. I also enjoyed the coffee! Not an every day place for those that need to be careful of their pastry/bread/butter intake, but a treat for sure!“

“We ordered breakfast sandwiches as take-out before hitting the road to head home to NJ. What a wonderful surprise! We expected basic egg and cheese sandwiches. These were so much better! They were absolutely delicious, as was the hash brown. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Boston.“

“The zucchini bread was fire!! Very moist, not too sweet, and dense enough without being overpowering. We also loved the orange chignon--you could really taste the orange, and it was very flaky/light. The latte had a deep flavor and wasn't too bitter. The only thing I would not order again was the passion fruit matcha latte, which tasted almost like a sour milk; it wasn't sweet at all and also did not have a strong matcha flavor, and I had a hard time finishing it.“

“Very lovely folks who work here and nice space, but if you’re a coffee snob who came for the high ratings just be a bit careful what you order.
The flat white here is a latte and the beans are not good. I think this is somewhere to go more for Turkish coffee or American-style syruped coffee. And (probably) good pastries!“

“Every week when I take my dog on a long walk we pass Weesh so I can get my weekly fix of the Berry Pop Tart. Not only does it taste fresh and amazing, but the owner and staff there are beyond kind and friendly. This is a true gem in Roslindale Village“

“Wow. Just wow! This offering/experience is a gem amongst gems. The cheesecake is phenomenal and the story of the makers is also really sweet. I got to sample the durian during my pick up of the (special wrapped) LNY sesame flavor! They were both so heavenly—friggin creamy yet delicate at the same time. Like how. Really happy I got to share this impeccable treat with friends and look forward to ordering again for future special occasions.“

“Katie was the absolute BEST to work with for our wedding - we can't recommend her enough! She developed an assortment of mini cupcakes and macarons that perfectly matched our wedding colors, flavor preferences, and accommodated the groom's allergies. She was so organized and easy to work with and handled all of the day-of setup and breakdown flawlessly. Our desert table felt so personal and we got so many compliments from guests. We can't wait to have another excuse to work with Katie!“

“I stop by every so often for pastries and hot chocolate or tea. It's a lovely atmosphere with great workers. I decided to order a birthday cake for myself from them this year, and it was perfect. It reminded me of my childhood. Everyone loved it, and it tasted great even the next day! It was ready for me at the scheduled time and was easy to transport to my birthday dinner. It's so awesome to have a place that can cater to dietary concerns like mine and still taste amazing.“

“Was in the area for a convention and happily stumbled onto Colette's. The ladies working the counter were very pleasant and helpful. The croissants we purchased were absolutely delicious, while the macarons were great as well. Street parking was a bit of a challenge but worth the effort. “Cute little bakery. Friendly service. I always stop here when I'm in the area to get goodies that aren't common in traditional bakeries. My favorites are the Pandan Coconut Cake roll, the Strawberry Cake roll, and the Corn & Cheese Roll. Because it is a small place, it can get super crowded with a queue out the door. Best to go between peak meal times.“

“Best bakery and cafe around!“
“Absolutely loved this cafe. It's new and has a great clean ambience.
They do have a variety of specialty drinks - I will try this in my next visit, this visit I had an early grey tea which was served in a pot with loose leaf tea. Definitely an upgrade from the regular cafes with tea bags.
Their Colombian cheese bread was good, can't wait to try other things on their menu.
Highly recommend.“

“An absolute gem and best bakery I've been to in Cambridge/Boston serving fresh baked Japanese style breads! Everything is freshly made and baked in-house and the quality speaks for itself: incredible Japanese wheat and flavor. Their salt bread was so soft, flavorful, and buttery. Their curry pan, which was fresh out of the oven was warm, perfectly savory. The French toast was simply heavenly, with a custardy pillowy sweetness. Their coffee was also incredible. You can tell the staff care so much. We'll be back regularly.“

“Food was good. However, I didn’t blow me away. The pupusas I was looking forward to, but mine was not cooked all the way through so it wasn’t that pleasant. I’m sure it would’ve been delicious if it had been cooked properly. Definitely do not go to dine in. There are a few Chairs next to the window and that’s it. It’s pretty much a takeout place. I would try it again, but probably not anytime soon.“

“I was just in the mood for some Brazilian type pastries for lunch, and looked it up on Yelp! My daughter and I drove from Woburn to Somerville and ordered an assortment of goods... You know when you experience something that takes you back to your childhood?? This was it for me...the ambience, the friendliness, and the flavors. Me, my daughter and my inner child drove home with smiles on our faces with food for my wife and my mother to enjoy!!! Amazing! We’ll be back soon!“

“King Do has recently moved to a new location, and the space is now much larger, cleaner, and more airy. The menu still offers a wide variety of options, and the food remains just as delicious and affordable as before. The highlights for me are definitely the pennywort drink and the mung bean milk—both are refreshing and a must-try.“

“First time visiting Levain Bakery in Seaport Boston, and honestly. It felt like a miracle. It was 21:00 and I needed warm, soft cookies 🍪
The service from Cole H was outstanding: no pushing, no rushing, just genuinely friendly and welcoming. The warm, gooey cookies made me so happy.
I enjoyed it so much that I had to write a review as soon as I got back to my hotel.
Thank you, Levain. Thank you, Cole H.“

“This place has strong sentimental value for me. We got our wedding cake here and they don’t ( or didn’t at the time ) make wedding cakes. We were young and poor and they made us three cakes which we put on platters to make into a wedding cake. We had so much left over we were eating it until Thanksgiving (got married at the end of August). We had no money and were eating pancakes, kraft Mac and cheese, chicken loaf sandwiches, chicken pucks and ramen to survive. But our freezer was filled with the leftover cake and I just loved it.
Circle back 30 some odd years later and my wife and I are walking through Chinatown and we come across this place again (we had moved away from the area after we got married). We go inside, the cake is not on the menu, but we tell them what we want (peach cake) and they make it for us right there. We bring it home and eat it the whole cake in one sitting.
Now whenever we are in Chinatown, we stop here before we go home and they make the cake for us ( though we don’t eat the whole thing in one sitting anymore).❤️“

“I really like this cake shop and have been here several times. The cakes are really nice—light, elegant, and not too sweet, with very delicate flavors. The bread is also great and all very reasonably priced.
The staff are friendly and polite, and I always leave with a good impression. If you’re nearby, it’s easy to stop by since there’s street parking along the road.
It’s a French pâtisserie, but I’d especially recommend it to Japanese customers as well—the flavors feel very familiar and approachable.“
