“Small family owned taqueria with really generous portions of traditional Mexican comfort classics. I had the tacos al pastor on authentic soft corn tortillas and they were excellent. Our table started with a platter of enchiladas, some chorizo and some chicken, and they were also really good. There are only four tables for dining in, but it looks like many people get their food for delivery anyway.“

WELL SERVICE WAS ONLY WORSE THIS TIME AROUND, THE WOMAN AT CASHIER LOOKED BOTHER BY JUST BEING THERE TAKING OUR ORDER AS THE TIME PRIOR OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND HER WHO ALSO WORKED THERE STANDING JUST THERE. “The Taco’s are unreal here. My wife and I showed up at dinner having eaten a big lunch. We both said we’ll just grab something quick and small. 8 tacos and and two Spicy Margaritas later we were in love with this place. Great service and fair prices.“

“Great food but lately El Jefe's is taking a hit on bad reviews due to @GrubHub's poor ordering system with algorithm issues which I have brought to their attention, and seems they still haven't fixed since I placed an order months prior. On 3 separate occasions on the same date and time I received my order incorrect. When I compared the order from my GrubHub account against the receipt received from El Jefe's, it was determined I was missing many items from my burrito bowl. I contacted GrubHub in which they kept refunding me, and I also mentioned the issue. I ordered El Jefe's 2 more times and the same error occurred both times. I could see once they mess up the order due to reading it wrong but not 3x. El Jefe's only puts an order together based on the ordering slips they receive from GrubHub, so if something is off with GrubHub's ordering system that is what the restaurant is receiving and thus creating the order from. As much as these food delivery services are ripping off these restaurants, they got a nerve to make the restaurant take accountability for their mess ups and ordering errors. They're already scamming these vendors out of $$$ and continue to affect these companies in a negative manner. Time for these vendors to go back to the old delivery ways and cut the greedy middle man! These good delivery services are a total rip off with their high fees, whacked discounts that don't add up, and lack of customer service.“

The customer service at the location in Malden was excellent, our waitress was so polite, personable, and the right amount of attentive. “I see this is a chain (?) so I’ll mention I went to the one on Highland in Somerville. I had the adobado con platano and it was so yummy I’m certainly coming back. This is a greasy spoon atmosphere and they clearly weren’t used to getting questions about the ingredients, but they dish out some amazing food.“

As a customer with allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame, I was extremely impressed to see how cognizant he was about ensuring that I had a safe experience, both through helping me navigate the menu and through making sure to communicate my allergies to the kitchen. “Since relocating from the New England area, I've missed access to Villa Mexico Cafe. This year, I ordered their infamous (authentic and delicious) Black Salsa for the whole family for the holidays!
