“THIS PLACE WENT FROM BEING ONE OF THE BEST GEMS TO A PLACE THAT FEELS SO UNCOMFORTABLE TO EVEN SET A FOOT IN. I'VE BEEN TO THIS PLACE FOR OVER 10 YEARS, SINCE PANDEMIC HAVE NOT GONE. WE FINALLY WENT, THE MINUTE I WALKED IN THE PERSON AT CASHIER SAID WHEN YOUR READY TO ORDER YOU COME HERE, BLINDED BY IT AS IS A RESTAURANT NOT A FAST FOOD SPOT I LOOKED AT HER AND ASK FOR THE MENU SHE LOOKS AT ME AND POINTS INFRONT OF HER TO GO GET IT MIND YOU, THERE ARE 3 OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND HER WHO WORK THERE .....I LET IT PASS AND TRIED TO GIVE THIS PLACE A SECOND CHANCE COMING BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK AS THE FOOD ACTUALLY WAS GOOD THE WEEK PRIOR. WELL SERVICE WAS ONLY WORSE THIS TIME AROUND, THE WOMAN AT CASHIER LOOKED BOTHER BY JUST BEING THERE TAKING OUR ORDER AS THE TIME PRIOR OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND HER WHO ALSO WORKED THERE STANDING JUST THERE. WE GET OUR FOOD REALIZING I GOT CORN TORTILLAS ASKED IF THEY CAN BE SWITCHED TO FLOURONE OF THE EMPLOYEES RESPONSE WELL IF YOU DON'T EAT THEM THERE GOING TO THE TRASH AND I AM LOOKING AT HER LIKE OKAY IS FINE CAN I PAY FOR AN EXTRA ORDER OF TORTILLAS OF FLOUR. THE AMOUNT OF DISPLEASSURE THESE WOMAN HAVE BEING THEIR IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY WHERE YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SERVED, ASIDE FROM THE FOOD FEELING SO RUSH THIS TIME AROUND AS WE GOT THERE AT 8 THEY CLOSED AT 10PM. “We went to Angela's for brunch on a Saturday morning. It gets busy so it's best to come early. The food was great! We shared the shrimp ceviche and both had huevos rancheros. Which we enjoyed every bites of it all. We also had a coffee and an Agua de Jamaica. The staff were super friendly. The restaurant was clean and felt super cozy. We will definitely come by again!“
“I don't know how to describe this place. Then top tier hole on the wall mexican food. You would not expect this out of where its location is. But this is by far the best place to get El. Pastor tacos and berea tacos. Don't be afraid to order anything here. It's all very very good. Extremely polite staff and everything is top to your quality for a reasonable price. Never be afraid of stopping here.“
“A small to-go place, rather than a sit-in restaurant. The food is fresh and staff are friendly. I found a nice vibe in the (open) kitchen area, but there was something missing in the counter/waiting area. Can't tell exactly what it is, maybe the lighting is a bit dull or dark, or too much fluorescent-ish?Personally, I found the seasoning of meat (Carne Asada) was a bit toward salty side. Overall a nice place to grab a to-go menu if live nearby, but probably not worth driving 20+ mins just to try here.“
“Was in the mood for a burrito and for some odd reason somerville hasn’t been it for burritos as of late… so I decided to look around and found this spot. Idk how long they have been open but decided to give it a shot based of the reviews. I can honestly say it’s one of the best burritos I’ve had in a very long time. All the employees are super nice and friendly. All the ingredients and vegetables and meats that they use is all fresh. One thing I absolutely love is that they grill the burrito for you without asking and to me that makes the burrito 100x times better. Definitely will be a returning customer!!!P.S. don’t forget the Horchata!!!“
“Exceptional food, service and vibe! My friends and I went to Burro Bar for the first time on Sunday. The food was so tasty. It was well-seasoned, fresh and well proportioned. My favorite dishes include the shrimp tacos, nachos de la casa and the papas bravadas. To top off the food, the service was excellent and the music on point. Would highly recommend Burro Bar!“
“Had a great night here our last night in Boston! Fantastic food. Definitely try the steak fajitas--tender and nuanced flavors! The drinks were even better! We had the Margarita Cosmica, Atomico, and Charro. And best of all was the attentive service. Marco, who designed the drinks clearly loves what he is doing and was so generous in sharing his knowledge.“

“Saturday was our first time and we loved the very delicious food, the portions and the excellent quality. I have been working in restaurants for more than 10 years and I am strict when it comes to cleanliness and quality, but here my expectations were met, the music to our liking. It was very high but otherwise everything was very good. I hope they don't change the service. The waitress was very attentive and had a good attitude, helping us understand the menu! “This is my favorite place to get Mexican food. Everything I’ve had is delicious, but my favorite is the carnitas bowl. I love that they have agua fresca! Achilitos is also a great option for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-sensitive with everything clearly marked and lots of options.Vegetarian options: Lots of options for vegetarians and vegans!“
“Delishhhhh Mexican food. The inside was nice, and the furniture was made in Mexico. The salsa was good and spicy and the guacamole was standard. The nachos were probably the last nachos I've ever had they each had beans, cheese and chicken on them and a hefty amount and chip was still standing strong which is always a positive sign. The enchiladas tejanas was my favorite dish of the day. It was cheesy and delicious. The churros also had the good Dulce delicious inside of them and were crispy. Joe walked us through the menu and you can tell he's very passionate which is always awesome and our server was very sweet and attentive.“
“Great food but lately El Jefe's is taking a hit on bad reviews due to @GrubHub's poor ordering system with algorithm issues which I have brought to their attention, and seems they still haven't fixed since I placed an order months prior. On 3 separate occasions on the same date and time I received my order incorrect. When I compared the order from my GrubHub account against the receipt received from El Jefe's, it was determined I was missing many items from my burrito bowl. I contacted GrubHub in which they kept refunding me, and I also mentioned the issue. I ordered El Jefe's 2 more times and the same error occurred both times. I could see once they mess up the order due to reading it wrong but not 3x. El Jefe's only puts an order together based on the ordering slips they receive from GrubHub, so if something is off with GrubHub's ordering system that is what the restaurant is receiving and thus creating the order from. As much as these food delivery services are ripping off these restaurants, they got a nerve to make the restaurant take accountability for their mess ups and ordering errors. They're already scamming these vendors out of $$$ and continue to affect these companies in a negative manner. Time for these vendors to go back to the old delivery ways and cut the greedy middle man! These good delivery services are a total rip off with their high fees, whacked discounts that don't add up, and lack of customer service.“

“New taqueria in Union Square with satisfying Mexican dishes.With so many Mexican spots in East Somerville, I initially perceived Picante as just another taqueria offering standard burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. I recently dropped by this place while walking my dog, and found the place empty during peak dinner hours. To my pleasant surprise, Picante offered special dishes like Carne Asada and Pollo Asado - both my go-to dishes at authentic Mexican restaurants.Since the restaurant looked like a standard counter-serve kitchen, I was surprised when they brought a huge slap of meat from downstairs and put it on the grill. It took quite a bit to get them prepared, but the wait was worth it. The chicken from Pollo Asado was exceptionally tender, complemented by a medley of fresh vegetable toppings. With the occasional coarse grain of salt, each bite was further enhanced by a delightful burst of salty umami. The Carne Asada, although slightly overcooked, remained a savory and enjoyable dish.With its subtle surprises and quality Mexican specialty plates, Picante is a place I would probably frequent more. The experience with their standard burritos and tacos may be a bit different, but these dishes are certainly worth trying.“

“Parents — Amores is a great option for bringing your kids out in town. It’s big enough that you shouldn’t have to stress about a long wait for a table; they have a great kids menu (with French fries if your kids are picky); and adults can enjoy their excellent food and margaritas. Their menu is much better and sophisticated than the typical suburban Mexican restaurant. Definitely better than the options in Salem, last I checked. The service was great too: prompt, friendly, accommodating.“

“Phenomenal tacos. The highlights are the nachos, crispy fried tofu taco, and torta with crispy fried tofu. But you really can’t go wrong!My only recommendation would be to getter napkins for dine-in. Tacos are super messy and the napkins are thin and tiny.“
“We've enjoyed their food all three times we've ordered delivery, though there have been a few issues with side items. The actual entree portion is always great, and they are good about requests. Unfortunately, the first time they forgot our drinks entirely, and the third time they delivered the wrong drinks. Also, the churros are awesome when made as described, but when they forget the filling they are pretty lackluster. Overall we'll keep ordering from them, but the mistakes are kind of annoying.“

“I highly recommend this place for Mexican cuisine. Food was great! I got the combo #1 and it was delicious. The portion sizes are great! The enchilada was my favorite. The only thing I was not the biggest fan of was the tamale was okay, not enough pork in it and a little mushy. I ended up eating them along with my chips for the perfect crunch. The service is overall AMAZING!! They go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is great. They are wonderful people. The ambiance was lovely. The decor and inside is beautiful! “Yesterday, we had the Al Pastor and Birria tacos and both were delicious. The Birria came with jus for dipping and the hot sauce had a good flavor and some heat. All the staff were friendly and helpful when we were there. They have very reasonable prices and a good selection of Jarritos and other sodas. This will be a great addition to the south end and we will definitely be back!“

“Awesome place for some Mexican food in Boston. When it comes to tortas in Boston, choices are pretty limited, so this was a nice fine. The chips and guacamole are nice, and the salsa isn't bad. The torta campechana was nice, though next time I think I'll try the tenoch instead. The torta was a great size, and was wrapped nicely (so, easy to eat). The inside of the restaurant is on the small side, so while you might find a place to sit, you might need to go somewhere else to eat.“
“Go-to place on a night out or with guests. Staff is beyond hospitable and kind. Brings the old school corner bar vibes but with current drinks and food. Found this place after looking for tacos post living in TX and now it’s our favorite place to spend the night (or a boozy brunch). Start off with a classic marg and chips, then cruise through the bubbly mixed drinks. A Waking Up in Tijuana and churros cap off the night perfectly. “The food was amazing. We couldn’t stop ordering more plates. The scallop appetizer was so refreshing and delicious! They also have a shrimp weekend special that was just packed full of flavor. My husband had the Birria taco dish and I had to fight him to a bite. The mezcal drinks were also done very well, we loved it. “We came here for dinner. Service was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. We tried the Birria Taco, Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, pork taco, Nachos steak fried, Pupuas and Churros. “A small little spot for a quick Mexican bite. Portions are good. I'd hoped my burrito came with some chips on the side like most other places do, but at least the burrito was filling. Had my burrito had just 15-20% more steak I would've given max stars. All in all still very good. I placed my order in English and my parents were able to place theirs in Spanish just as easily thanks to the bilingual staff. It's a small thing, but I appreciate it!“

“I would recommend it as its decent Mexican in Acton (similar par as Bueno Y Sano). But they have messed up our takeout order (and a friends order); gave incorrect childrens meal and forgot the chips. When I called they were adamant no mistake was made which didn’t sit well with me, but they did agree to refund me in the end. We’ve had overall better experiences at other Chipotle-esque places. Not sure we will be back. Hopefully these are just growing pains. But triple check your takeout order before leaving!“
“we had the best tamarindo margaritas and queso fundido. however we were a group of 9 they charge us a fee to use the restaurant. I asked for my check early. they charge me the group fee. I denied to pay it and o e staff member said he will pay for it. I said if u want than he insulted me. I paid and left. so be careful ask if there are fees.“
“I’m from New York where the street food is excellent I was visiting and wanted something other than American faire and Maria’s did not disappoint! The pupusas were hot, the steak is seasoned perfectly the fajitas made my mouth water. There is a a great selection of food and the staff is so nice. There are only three tables so to go it the ideal way to eat but I was lucky enough to be able to eat in I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.“
“We were leaving an appointment Salem and caught a glimpse of the inside while we drove by, and we thought it was very unique, so we pulled over to check it out to our surprise. This place was beautifully designed and the environment was incredible, so we decided to stay to have some drinks and food and it was all great, right down to the service. We ordered some vegetarian tacos, and my wife ordered some meat ones, and we loaded everything about this placedefinitely. Check it out when you can. “Absolutely loved it here. The wait staff are super friendly and Nelson the manager was super courteous. They went the extra step or three in presenting my Espresso Martini. Beyond the presentation, the taste was top notch too. They also were kind to take my request for a Tamarind margarita which wasn’t on the menu. I finished off with an impeccable Tres Leches cake that was the right amount of perfect. Definitely recommend a visit or three to Cabana in Eastie.“
