As a San Diegan I have tried everywhere in boston and enjoyed great Salvadoran, Honduran, and Puerto Rican food but have not found great Baja Mexican or even good Mexican in general that remind me of home. This is the spot. This brought tears to my eyes on homesick day. I just need them to sell carne asada in their catering section or by the pound and I’d purchase weekly. This is a greasy spoon atmosphere and they clearly weren’t used to getting questions about the ingredients, but they dish out some amazing food.“

Came in for breakfast this past weekend. Out of all the Mexican and South American spots on Broadway, this probably isn’t the one most people go for, but it was one of the few open for a full breakfast service. Most of the locals were grabbing things off the hot food display, but we went with the carne asada plate and the huevos con chorizo.

Everything came grilled to order, tortillas included. The steak and the chorizo scrambled eggs were both just decent and about the quality you’d expect from a basic neighborhood spot. What we liked most was the Mexican rice. They were working a huge pot in the kitchen with what was basically a shovel, and the rice came out loaded with all that broth and tomato flavor cooked into it.

Worth a stop if you want an early savory breakfast that fills you up.“

“We came here for dinner. Service was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. We tried the Birria Taco, Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, pork taco, Nachos steak fried, Pupuas and Churros. The Birria taco was juicy and tender. Pupuas was cheesy and delicious. We also tried some tequila and margaritas. Everything was great. Would come back“

“First time visiting. We visit a lot of Mexican restaurants in and around the North Shore, and have our favorites. This is for sure a new favorite for us. The customer service at the location in Malden was excellent, our waitress was so polite, personable, and the right amount of attentive. The restaurant was spotless, I mean, SPOTLESS, including the restroom. The rest of the staff checked in, and the food was excellent.“

One of my favorite small details about this place is when you order the queso. It comes in a small cast-iron pot with a tea light candle underneath so you do not have to rush to finish the queso, it is going to be warm for as long as you want. Tacos are delicious. “I like this place the most out of the Salvadoran places on Broadway. I personally think their best deal is the montecristo plate (~$16).

I was absolutely shocked when I first got it. Came with rice, beans, fresh tortillas, salad, queso fresco, a GIANT piece of steak, yuca frita, and a whole strip or Chicharron and a sweet plantain. Try the Chicharron and plantain mixed together--the sweetness really balances out the natural saltiness of the pork and it's so good!!“

“I originally decided to visit this restaurant because of its positive Google reviews, so I wanted to share my own experience as well.

Overall, I really enjoyed the food. We did have to wait quite a while for our meals, but since we ordered steaks, I found the wait understandable and acceptable.

One thing I truly appreciated was that we were seated at what felt like one of the best tables in the restaurant. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our visit.

The only downside was the music. The volume was quite loud, and while it started with softer background music, it would occasionally switch to much more energetic songs at a higher volume. Because of that, it was difficult to have a comfortable conversation at the table.

We were actually enjoying our meal and would have liked to stay longer, but the noise level ultimately led us to leave sooner than planned. Aside from that, we were very satisfied with the experience, especially the food, atmosphere, and service“
