“I see this is a chain (?) so I’ll mention I went to the one on Highland in Somerville. I had the adobado con platano and it was so yummy I’m certainly coming back. This is a greasy spoon atmosphere and they clearly weren’t used to getting questions about the ingredients, but they dish out some amazing food.“

As a San Diegan I have tried everywhere in boston and enjoyed great Salvadoran, Honduran, and Puerto Rican food but have not found great Baja Mexican or even good Mexican in general that remind me of home. “First time visiting. We visit a lot of Mexican restaurants in and around the North Shore, and have our favorites. This is for sure a new favorite for us. The customer service at the location in Malden was excellent, our waitress was so polite, personable, and the right amount of attentive. The restaurant was spotless, I mean, SPOTLESS, including the restroom. The rest of the staff checked in, and the food was excellent.“

“We ordered some tacos, a pork burrito, menudo, steak fajitas, and horchatas, and they were all very well prepared and the meats were tender. The dishes could have used just a little salt/seasoning, but were otherwise delicious, the menudo especially. We arrived on Saturday morning, around 9:30, and all the items on the menu were available for ordering. The atmosphere was chill, but charming, with Mexican decor and clothing items. Parking is a little difficult, as it is on a main road with a bus lane, but there is parking a little down the street or at Stop & Shop.“

“This place was amazing! We stumbled upon Toca Chida for a friend’s birthday—due to the fact that Earls gave away our table and it couldn’t have been a bigger blessing!!! Management was VERY accommodating and helped us finagle a set-up to sit 11 people in a flash! Our server was just as kind and accommodating! Food was to die for—some highlights included: blackened chicken quesadillas, shrimp ceviche, and the empanadas. For dessert the tres leche is a MUST try! Vibes were great and decor and ambiance wrapped it up together in a bow! I will definitely be back! Thank you SO much!“

“I like this place the most out of the Salvadoran places on Broadway. I personally think their best deal is the montecristo plate (~$16).

I was absolutely shocked when I first got it. Came with rice, beans, fresh tortillas, salad, queso fresco, a GIANT piece of steak, yuca frita, and a whole strip or Chicharron and a sweet plantain. Try the Chicharron and plantain mixed together--the sweetness really balances out the natural saltiness of the pork and it's so good!!“

“We came here for dinner. Service was good. Staff was helpful and friendly. We tried the Birria Taco, Fish Taco, Shrimp Taco, pork taco, Nachos steak fried, Pupuas and Churros. The Birria taco was juicy and tender. Pupuas was cheesy and delicious. We also tried some tequila and margaritas. Everything was great. Would come back“

“We visited Tulum in Somerville after hearing a lot about their tacos. Overall, it was a mixed experience.

We started with two drinks, the Sneaky Pineapple and the Spicy Marg, and both were good. For an appetizer, we ordered the shrimp and bacon, which was tasty but a little small and underwhelming.

For entrees, we got the enchiladas and the asada tacos. The enchiladas were awesome and easily the best thing we ate all night. Unfortunately, the asada tacos were absolutely terrible. The steak was so tough and chewy that we could barely eat them.

It was especially disappointing because we went in expecting great tacos based on everything we’d heard.

Overall: Good drinks, excellent enchiladas, an average appetizer, and very disappointing asada tacos. We'd may go back for the enchiladas, but I’d skip the steak tacos.“
