The lemon caper sauce had ONE visible caper. The cook claimed that it was because they were diced up and that's why I couldn't find them! The tuna appetizer was so salty as to be almost inedible while the herb-crusted fish entree was criminally underseasoned.
Great food, service and atmosphere.
I was first introduced to Sam Walkers in Woburn, MA back in 2022 and have been going at least once a week since then. The bartender Crystal is phenomenal, friendly, knowledgeable and always has a kind word to say. I have never had a bad meal there. My current favorite is the Healthy burger. It's delicious!!! Sam Walker's American Tavern offers a wonderful brunch and amazing lunch experience with fantastic food and great service. The GM is super accommodating, and the staff, including Julie and Grace, are incredible, attentive waitresses who go above and beyond, making every interaction feel welcoming and at home. For a mid-week tavern meal, the food proves wrong any skepticism. The vibe is wonderfully cozy with a comfortable energy, and there is plenty of parking. The service is top-notch from start to finish, with a waitress greeting guests before they even settle into chairs. The kitchen is super fast, and the fish and chips from the kids meal come out remarkably quick. The Dry Rub Chicken Wings are a masterclass in execution, crispy on the outside and beautifully moist inside. The Buffalo Chicken Nachos stole the show—unequivocally the best with seasoned tortilla chips, a generous amount of toppings, and fresh guacamole. For dessert, the warm brownie with made-from-scratch ice cream is an incredible finish. Everything about the place fires on all cylinders, and guests will definitely be back.
