East India Company at 349 York Ave was lively but welcoming. The buffet had bold flavors—lamb curry and dal were standout. Generous portions for the price. Parking was easy nearby, though a short wait during dinner. Staff were attentive and friendly. Slight suggestion: more vegetarian options would be great. A must-try for Indian food lovers!
Now open for lunch on Saturdays! This is our favourite restaurant for Indian food by far! We’ve eaten at this restaurant more times over the years than any other restaurant in Winnipeg. Highly recommended!
The service was probably the best that I’ve experienced all over Winnipeg.

Having been a favorite for over 20 years, the buffet offers an amazing selection of dishes, from various chicken dishes to shrimp, mussels in creamy sauce, lamb, butter chicken, and beef vindaloo. The rice has improved, and fresh-baked naan is now included in the buffet. The food is always hot and fresh, with a variety of vegetarian, salad, and dessert items. The decor transports diners to India, and the owner is always onsite, interacting with customers and ensuring a great dining experience. The ambiance is elegant and warm, perfect for a relaxing evening out, and the buffet price offers great value compared to other restaurants in the city.
