“Have not eaten at a Meltwich since pre-pandemic when it was located in Wpg Square. Did not disappoint tonight. Husband had the Southern Fried Chicken Melt it was to die for. Saucy and with a little kick. I had the Philly Cheese steak was quite good. But I like mine saucy would have been amazing with a horseradish mayo on it.
Fries were really crispy but not alot of flavor on their own. But still quite good. Probably quite delicious in their Poutines.
Sorry for the half eaten food pics, just tells you how much we were enjoying them.

Cautionary notice they come out piping hot. I would suggest a knife and fork for the Philly Cheese Steak as it comes piled high with stuff. But when its that hot you're either waiting for it to cool down or burning your fingers off as everything falls out with each bite. Knife and fork does the trick so you can savor it all together without risking a burnt lip or tongue 😉“

“The bistro has a menu that is clearly created with love for food and great knowledge of the Metis culture. The owner is a creative genius when it comes time to some of the unique combinations he has created to put on the menu. What I appeared most about the bistro experience, is the care that goes into sourcing every ingredient made to cook the quality food they offer. Your meals are not throwing together with margarine, or low quality butter. Give me are not purchased from superstore. The owners have taken time to locally source everything they can. From flour to fish, to bison and so on. This bistro is very evidently built and ran with the love and pride they take in their Metis roots. Apart from the quality and taste of the food and the owner go to make sure the guests have a quality experience, they give back to our youth. The owners took a chance and hired my 14 year old son to joint their team. Being a small business and taking a risk on hiring somebody so young was really something special. When my son was wanting to get a part-time job, we knew how challenging it would be for him being 14, and to enter the workforce. Most people wouldn’t want to give someone that young a chance. Especially with the role he was hired for. If he was the type of young man that didn’t show up to work, or didn’t keep his commitments, it would cause a lot of stress on the restaurant as a whole. And the fact that Dean and his wife took a chance and believed in my son… The bistro, and the owners will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s one thing to provide quality food, and to provide a great restaurant experience, but it’s another thing to be a good person behind the scenes. My son has learned so much not only about food, cooking and what it is to be an employee, but Dean has taught my son so much about our Metis culture, our roots our food and our traditions. everyone child check out APTN to see some of the amazing work Dean and his crew at the bistro did with our youth this past summer. I’m glad that they constantly tinker with the menu and add experiments but please bring back my Hogs and Scallops. I don’t care if scallops cost more now, raise the price but keep it on the menu.“

“Eadha bakery worker co-op is a wonderful big shop located at 577 Ellice avenue in the West End only a few steps from the University of Winnipeg main campus. This is an awesome place to go to for fresh baked goods, including scones, pizza, twists, cookies, and all other baked delicacies. The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. Service was excellent and the pricing was fair. Great place overall. Awesome vibe. There’s free parking in the back. I highly recommend.“

“I had the pleasure of running across this quaint little ice cream shop, with a large selection of very tasty ice cream. It was the day we celebrated Pinawa Birthday. I wanted ice cream and later went back for coffee. Our party of three each ordered a different flavour and were delighted in taste testing each others. The ice cream was so good. We had to wait our turn in the line up but it was so worth it. I went by later for coffee and discovered they were supposed to be closed an hour before that but the happy customers kept coming so she made us our lattes. There was a group of Police man after us and Julia happily served them after us. I loved the ice cream, I loved the passionate and friendly service and the lattes were very tasty. It’s nice to see a small town business being run with such care, compassion to stay over time and such a tasty selection. If you haven’t tried it yet… GO. I will be back. 😊😊😊“

“Used to go there as a kid, 45+ years ago. Was in the area so decided to order to go. Got there early so they asked if I was parked behind the building, they said wait in the car and they'd bring it out to me. The pizza was delicious, brought back alot of old memories of when we used to pick up from the original store with Tony himself making the pies.
Highly recommend picking up there. Staff was really friendly as well“

I recently went gluten, dairy and soy free, I ordered a mixed berry pie, chicken pot pie, sourdough cinnamon buns, oatmeal raisin cookies, sourdough bread and sourdough hamburger buns.. the cookies.. to die for, the sourdough bread.. it’s killing me how delish it is.. and everything else looks so yummy I’m trying hard to space it out so I don’t put myself in a food coma. “Well.....I figured I'd try the Traditional Poutine, the flavour and portion size were very good, unfortunately it was cool with cold spots in it. The perogies were VERY good, my friend had the Buffalo Chicken poutine and it was REALLY good. The Thai chicken bird were good with the prefect amount of spice. We also had the giant mozza sticks, the flavour was good, but not quite worth the $10 per stick.“

“I visited the East India Company Restaurant to pick up a delivery order and had a great experience thanks to Nafisa. She was polite, professional, and very organized even during a busy time. The order was ready on time, packed properly, and the pickup process was quick and smooth.

we got wonton soup, spring rolls, veggie chicken, szechuan beef, deep fried shrimp, gluten balls, and the mixed fried rice.

all the food was prepared very quickly, and made-to-order. everything tasted so amazing and fresh. you can tell each dish was made with care and love. the portions are very big for the price, so there will likely be leftovers to take home.

the service was phenominal, our server was so friendly and made us feel like we were eating dinner at our parents' house.

can't recommend spring roll enough, whether you are vegan or not.“

The event was flawlessly organized and orchestrated by the Hy's team, the food was next level even by Hy's standards and the service exceeded anything we have experienced anywhere in North America even in the finest hotels. Bryant Olender added a classic background with piano and vocal stylings that perfectly suited the atmosphere.
