“6/27/26: Corner Bites was a solid stop during our visit to Rockville and a great option if you’re looking for authentic Cantonese-style Chinese food. The restaurant has a no-frills, neighborhood feel, and the focus is clearly on the food.
We ordered the BBQ Pork Rice Roll, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Sliced Fish Stir Fry with Chinese Greens, and the Seafood Pan Fried Noodles. The BBQ pork rice roll was a great way to start the meal, with silky rice noodles wrapped around tender char siu and topped with a light soy sauce. The Yang Chow fried rice was well seasoned, packed with ingredients, and had that classic wok flavor without feeling greasy.
The standout dish for me was the Seafood Pan Fried Noodles. The noodles had a nice mix of crispy and soft textures, and the generous portion of shrimp, fish, squid, and vegetables made it easy to share. The Sliced Fish Stir Fry with Chinese Greens was another highlight, with tender fish and fresh vegetables cooked simply enough to let the ingredients shine.
Service was efficient, and the food came out quickly despite the restaurant being fairly busy. The dining room is clean and comfortable, though it’s definitely more of a casual neighborhood restaurant than a place you’d visit for the atmosphere.
Overall, I’d give Corner Cafe 4/5 stars. The food was fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced, with a couple of standout dishes that I’d happily order again. If you’re in the Rockville area and craving Cantonese comfort food, it’s definitely worth checking out. I’ll be back to explore more of the menu.“

“Pork Soup dumplings were good. The scallion pancake was crispy. I forgot to take a picture because I was focused on enjoying the meal. I
wish there were more shrimp options but overall a good experience. I would like to come back to try other things from their menu“

“We got lucky and had lunch here during a day of tourism. Inexpensive and great food and boba. The cook (who was the only one working there as you can order with the ipad) was nice and the place was clean and cozy. We went at an off-peak time so we were able to sit at the counter but I imagine that during lunch rush it must mostly be for takeout as there are few seats. Also I don't think they had a bathroom as I looked around for one and didn't see it. It wasn't an emergency situation though so did not ask to use one.“

“This was a great authentic Cantonese restaurant. I have been a frequent visitor since their soft opening. It is a bit sad that they are slowly switching menu to accommodate broader tastes, e.g. by including American-Chinese food and adding Sichuan style dishes. This is understandable given the demographics of the neighborhood and the market demand, but I do notice that the quality fluctuates for some skill-sensitive Cantonese dishes (e.g. 干炒牛河). It is also disappointing that the chicken in 啫啫煲 has been replaced with boneless chicken, which again is understandable to accommodate customers who don't like bone-in chicken, but that's just not how this dish is supposed to be made.
On the flip side of the menu changes, I like that they have added the Typhoon-style Lobster and Peking duck (I don't actually know why in the US many Cantonese restaurant offer Peking duck; maybe as a simple variation of HK-style roast duck.).
Overall, I hope this restaurant will flourish while maintaining its authentic taste and high standards!“

“ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! No I'm not employed here! I have to limit myself to once every other week. After being in the restaurant industry for 25 years I DEFINITELY respect this places consistency. Try it out.“

“Food was excellent! We went on a Friday night and it wasn't very busy, but with a holiday weekend people may be out of town
Dishes were large, hot, and fresh. Only thing I wish was different was that there was an iPad for ordering. However, servers stopped by multiple times to check in.“

“Due to certain reasons, our store has been targeted with malicious fake reviews by this despicable person.
It has been confirmed that these individuals are not real customers of ours, and the photos they used were not taken in our store.
We have already submitted applications to the platform to resolve this issue and have reported the matter to the police. We know exactly who you are — you are that Uber delivery driver who went berserk because you couldn’t wait for the food due to your own issues.
We have provided your name to the police and filed a formal complaint with Uber. We also have video evidence of you damaging store equipment, along with other supporting proof.
We hope you receive the consequences you deserve as soon as possible.
To our dear customers: please view this situation rationally and objectively. Thank you for your understanding and support.“

“Our whole family has been coming here since they opened more than 30 years ago. It's menu is classic — always delicious. Plus the staff treat you like friends and offer super service. Huge portions so there's always some to take-home. We've never had a lesser experience here in all these decades. A truly home-style, welcoming place with tasty dishes.“

“The food is excellent for the price, especially if you’re looking for authentic, no-frills Chinese cuisine. Service is acceptable but can be slow, and there’s often a line—though it’s generally worth the wait. Expect the straightforward Cantonese candor if you speak Chinese, but they are welcoming and accommodating to non-Chinese customers as well. The dining area is convenient and comfortable, with a cozy, Chinese cafeteria-style atmosphere (not a formal restaurant), which adds to the overall charm.
If you want, I can also make it sound more casual, more punchy, or more like a typical Yelp “Local Guide” review.“

“Korean BBQ sandwich came out hot and with fresh toppings pretty quickly after I ordered. But it was a bit bland, I wish it had more flavor. The payment system is a little confusing, order food on one, then take the receipt over to pay and then you have to use a different system to order drinks. But staff is very friendly and helpful.“

“Super friendly and super accommodating. This store is top notch. I’ve never done embroidery before and had no idea what to expect, but their products far exceeded whatever expectations I could’ve had. I am beyond pleased with how everything turned out and will definitely be bringing my future business back here. Thanks Gorman’s!“

“Such an amazing place - will always come back!
It is an owner-run place, and the owner is just a wonderful human being. When my friend sent a package to my place, it got erroneously delivered to Luna Hall. The owner called my friend proactively, and since she wasn't in town to pick it up, he even kept it at a safe place for several days before she could pick it up. This was a genuine act of kindness. Many others wouldn't have bothered, just deposed the package or used it for themselves. We were impressed by the integrity and good character, and will recommend this place simply for this reason: I am sure the same care and diligence go into preparing the food and running this place.“

“We came into eat here by mistake- but it turned out to be a happy mistake! The service was exceptional. My water was never empty. The food came out very quickly! Which was great because we had three hungry kids. Atmosphere was lovely with all the colored lamps. The Singapore noodles and pan fried chicken dumplings were our favorite. Great little find!“

“I heard a lot of good things about McDuck House, so we decided to stop by and try it for ourselves.
The dim sum and other dishes were okay, but unfortunately they didn’t really match our expectations. The flavors were just not quite what we were looking for, and some dishes, especially the shrimp, didn’t seem as fresh as we hoped.
We also tried the stir-fried pea shoots. Unfortunately, this dish was not prepared the way we expected. The vegetables seemed to be overcooked, so instead of having the fresh, slightly crisp texture and natural sweetness that pea shoots usually have, they became a bit soft and chewy. It felt more like boiled vegetables rather than a proper stir-fry. This was just our personal preference, as we really enjoy pea shoots when they are cooked lightly and still keep their freshness.
We did mention our thoughts to the kitchen because we wanted to share our honest feedback. Everyone has different tastes, and this is just our personal experience.
Overall, the food was decent, but it didn’t really wow us or leave a memorable impression. For us, it’s probably not a place we would return to, but we appreciate the chance to try it.“

“It’s a massive restaurant, spacious enough to accommodate weddings for hundreds of guests. As a matter of fact, there’s a traditional Chinese wedding decoration of double happiness and dragons on the wall by the entrance. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was Cantonese-style, with generous portions. The menu was like a giant book with all kinds of dishes and party menus.
We had fried Salt and Pepper Fish and Pork Flakes with String Beans. Both dishes had mild flavors.“

“This was a first-time don't-know-what-to-do kind of visit. And I LOVE IT. There was quick, excellent service to match the flavorful options for entrees and sides. I've definitely been missing out on this "pearl" located only minutes from Arlington.“

“This is a decent spot if you’re desperately craving an Asian food fix or Cantonese dim sum. We went with the $38 buffet (Option A). The steamed dim sum like har gow was acceptable, the wonton soup was a bit bland, but the porridge was actually really good.
We also enjoyed the pork potstickers and the beef hor fun — those were definite highlights for us. Overall, we did enjoy the meal.
That said, it didn’t feel super value-for-money for the price. If we were to return, we’d probably go à la carte instead. Still, it’s a solid option when you really need that Asian / dim sum fix.“
