“It’s a cute, little bakery run by some lovely, wonderful people.I’m a pretty big guy who used to be overweight. My love for sugar is still very much present lol. That said, whenever I eat anything from here, I don’t feel that “guilt” or “shame” you feel when you prick up a candy bar.Everything that I’ve tried here is the perfect amount of sweet. Not too much, not too little. It will satisfy your sweet tooth without making your doctor cry at the amount of sugar you just ingested. It’s also very filling. I can easily eat 2-3 donuts from a donut shop. Meanwhile, I’ll be 3/4 of the way thru a pastry from this bakery and I’ll struggle to eat the rest. I want to eat the rest because they’re VERY delicious but it’s more than meets the eye. Also extremely well priced. The average for a single pastry or slice of cake seems to be right below $4 I think. Might be slightly off but the point is I didn’t feel like I was spending a lot. Again, for something that will fill a grown man up without being half your daily amount of calories in a single serving like some of these other sweets, this place is near impossible to beat.I love this place“

“I enjoyed the smoothies, the acai bowl was SO good! The flavor is great, the taste is amazing, and the service was ok for the amount of customers at the time, I wish the prices were slightly cheaper, but other than that it is a 5/5, peak!Vegetarian options: Very much alot of vegan options and bowls.“

“Swung by here from out of town. We only got an iced coffee, a mocha frappé and a cheese danish, and we were impressed! The pastry was fresh, soft and yummy, and the drinks were above expectations. The baristas were friendly, too. Peeped a few salads and they looked amazing too. Seemed a lot of people were there on coffee dates.“

“I came in here with high expectations and the smoothie delivered even above them! However, when someone doesn't know an ingredient, you tell them. You don't say 'chocolate is chocolate' if someone doesn't know what chocolate is.I wish I lived here to come all the time, even with that.Seriously good smoothies.“

“Very clean, modern, health-centric food option in Columbia. All ingredients felt fresh, clean, and tasteful. Avocado toast was great as was the green smoothie I had. My only complaint is the board the toast arrived on. I think I would prefer a plate, but that’s just my personal preference. Outside of that, my experience was positive. Will definitely be here in the future for a healthy, refreshing meal.“

“Kind people, helpful. I struggle to find a healthy-ish lunch while at work and this place satisfies that for me. They clearly care about a healthy lifestyle and encourage you to participate in a number of community events geared toward the marriage of their business and a healthy approach to life, like walks, runs etc. Not just a simple juice bar.“

“Simply the best place for snow cones. The fresh fruits they use are of great quality and make all the difference, the portion sizes are extremely generous - you definitely get more than what you pay for. Despite being a small place, they have a lot to offer and their snow cones are definitely worth trying.“

“Awesome place with delicious shakes! My friend and I went after a long hot run and both shakes were so so good! I’ve been to 2 other similar places and this one was the best. Very reasonable price for the size. And the owner was so kind and gave us another immunity drink for free with our purchase. Will be back for sure, go and check this place out!“

“What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into over 200+ stores, thousands of employees, and a mission to lead communities in healthy, sustainable living. The Playa Bowls™ concept is the vision of founders Robert Giuliani & Abby Taylor — both Jersey Shore natives & long time surfers. Abby grew up in Ocean Township surfing the beaches of Monmouth County, while Rob grew up surfing in Ocean County. They were inspired by chasing summer on surf trips to Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, California & Hawaii. Almost every exotic surf town they visited offered their own unique version of an acai or pitaya bowl. They decided to recreate their favorite recipes with their own twist at home at the Jersey Shore. They made a deal with the owner of the pizza shop they lived above on 8th Avenue in Belmar, NJ. They bought a blender, a patio table, a fridge & a freezer and set up a makeshift pop up stand on the sidewalk in front of the pizza shop. They spent a lot of time & effort telling their story and educating customers on the benefits of acai. As word spread of this creative & intuitive pop up stand, more & more people stood in line on the side of Ocean Avenue to see what Playa Bowls was all about. Rob & Abby realized it was time to take their growing business to the next level. Fast forward nine years & here we are, sharing our story & passion at over 200 stores nation wide. They serve our communities the highest quality, innovative products to support healthier lifestyles and inspire a world of fun, excitement and togetherness. At Playa Bowls, they LIVE there brand in actions and in the relationships that they make in our communities. Our focus is to provide a bowl full of deliciousness to every guest, delivered with authenticity and passion for the Playa way. There dedication to our mission, and refusal to cut corners has made Playa Bowls™ a standout leader in this space, helping us realize exponential franchise growth, opening over 200+ stores in the past nine years.“
“I've been a long time customer of Turning Natural and highly recommended their juices, smoothies and cleanses. My favorite smoothie is their Happy Hemp that comes with mango, pineapple, spinach, spirulina and hemp protein. So yummy! The black bean burger and spinach patty are pretty good too. They now even have açaí and pitaya bowls that I'm excited to try. They're also black owned and have locations throughout the DMV. You really can't go wrong!“
