“We were a little surprised to start the evening by ringing a doorbell to get in, but the warm welcome that followed put us at ease right away. The atmosphere is fantastically unique, quirky, and full of character. The bartenders were genuinely friendly and the service was quick.

We ordered the Mac ’n’ Cheese with Jerk Chicken, Yuca Bites, Chorizo con Arroz y Gandules and the Cinnamon Mini Donuts. Everything was perfectly seasoned (especially great if you enjoy a bit of heat like we do). The only downside was that the portions felt a bit on the smaller side.

It also looks like they host a lot of interesting events like book readings, sip-and-paints, comedy shows and more. We didn’t get a chance to attend one this time, but it definitely added to the charm and made us want to come back.“

“I can't say enough about this place. It felt good from the door entrance. Three greeters welcomed us at the door. We did not have a reservation so they sat us in a very comfortable and quaint siting area while they picked a beautiful couples area for my wife and I. THE FOOD. OMG. I got reggae pasta with salmon. The flavor was the best I ever had. My wife got the salmon cakes but me being greater, dipped her fish cake into my pasta sauce 😋 🙃 😐. It was over. The live musician with all the singalong hits really pushed them over the top. Needless to say, i doubled my tip.“

“Spurrier's Restaurant and Lounge has an incredible view and surroundings from both in and out. I just spent but a day there, and I had an incredible time. The surroundings were neat and there were ample parking lot. Staff were polite, professional, and helpful. They do sell snacks. A special occasion gave me the chance to visit and to explore what do they offer. You can book a reservation. Stairs and elevator are available but I prefer using my legs. You can't miss it. It's within the city, and businesses are all around. I didn't order any food from there, so I don't know how their food taste, but what I can say is that the occasion I was invited to, the food was great. The food is more traditional based on the event. But overall, the staff were excellent and they did their very best to get everyone situated and to feel at home. ?

“Great decor, music, I like the margaritas they already have mixed, perfect location to walk to after an event at Hippodrome as we did (and I have many great memories of this club back in the day when it was under different ownership as well). It bumped loud enough that your body felt it and kept you dancing but low enough that you can talk to people and still hear each other so it's the perfect mix. Because of this I will def be coming back soon since it's a spot to both dance AND talk (which is actually very hard to find). Only 2 things. 1.needs a coat check 2.led lights were dope but the whites made it a little too bright but I know they're color changeable and dimable so it might just have been the settings while I was there and not an every day thing but I wished it was a little dimmer.“

“I had a great experience at Caribeyond Restaurant! The flavors brought me right to the heart of Haitian cuisine. The macaroni pie was creamy, cheesy, and perfectly baked—definitely a standout. The black rice was rich and fragrant, and the chicken legs were juicy and seasoned to perfection. I also really enjoyed the fish cakes—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor.

The only dish that didn’t quite hit the mark for me was the chicken patty. It was a bit dry and didn’t have the same bold taste as the other items. That said, everything else made up for it, and I’ll definitely be coming back to try more.
