“I dined there for the first time tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is quaint, cozy, and perfectly decorated. The first two drinks that I got were absolutely amazing, as they were custom-made. We also tried a flight of tequila, which was also very delicious. We both got an entrée each, and got nachos and queso. It was all absolutely delicious. The waitress kept coming back to check on us and was very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening. “I heard the stories about this place and it had been closed for a couple of years as the hotel it's in underwent renovation and ownership changes but it's back open and I couldn't be happier.

Steve the bartender is currently a one man show and we were there on the weekend it reopened and he was so happy to be back in his happy place. The man is a cocktail maven who loves his craft and what he does and his customers as well.

There is currently no menu here you ask for what you want or can tell Steve what you are in the mood for and he will make something amazing!

I got a smoked old fashioned that he smokes with his own blend of wood and spices and it was easily in the Top 5 of best old fashioneds I've ever had.

Service to start I was greeted when I entered, friendly and welcoming. The service however was a little shaky, the person bringing the food was great and even the other staff walking around asking me if I needed any was also great. The waitress not so much, hardly saw her, her mannerisms were polite,“

“We were a little surprised to start the evening by ringing a doorbell to get in, but the warm welcome that followed put us at ease right away. The atmosphere is fantastically unique, quirky, and full of character. The bartenders were genuinely friendly and the service was quick.

We ordered the Mac ’n’ Cheese with Jerk Chicken, Yuca Bites, Chorizo con Arroz y Gandules and the Cinnamon Mini Donuts. Everything was perfectly seasoned (especially great if you enjoy a bit of heat like we do). The only downside was that the portions felt a bit on the smaller side.

It also looks like they host a lot of interesting events like book readings, sip-and-paints, comedy shows and more. We didn’t get a chance to attend one this time, but it definitely added to the charm and made us want to come back.“

“It is stunning. The photos online had us dying to come check it out and they did not disappoint. Every dish had a wow factor. The chef is so talented. A particular favorite was the quiche. You think you’ve had quiche before? You haven’t until you’ve tried this. My husband who doesn’t even like quiche said he would come back specifically to get it. Our server, Na was an absolute joy! She made it a whole other level of fun. She was attentive, helpful and gave great suggestions. Just excellent customer service all around. You all are doing so much right.“

“I had an Alma birthday gift card so it was time to use it on a Saturday night. We had a reservation at 6 but arrived earlier to enjoy the Bar and some apertivos. A good list/variety of Cocktails including Zero. Dan is the Man and not only made drink recommendations but navigated the menu for us. Lessons in Alliteration and the Mezcal y Manaca were my favorites, Guayabita and Vieja Escuela were also enjoyed.

We started with the Patacon Salvaje -Calamari, avocado etc-just wanted to look at it as it was a work of art-tasty, Tequenos-their version of cheese sticks-the Guayaba sauce takes it over the top!

First course-Alma Caesar salad-order it! Brussel sprouts, kimchi dressing-enough said, Caribe Atomico-have never had scallops (thinly sliced) this way before and loved it-the sauce wants to be spicy but stops at savory and the rice cracker complimented nicely-basically a Ceviche and another must try.

Entrees-based on recommendation went with the Solomo Criollo (prime NY strip)-came out medium rare as ordered and Yuca with Chimichurri was a perfect side.
The Duck Attolado stole the show! Exquisite spiced Duck breast
over a bed of rice similar to Paella-delicious!

Service was attentive and engaged-Kez took great care of us. Prices are at a premium and rightfully so as you won’t find these creations on every corner. Perfect spot for date night!“

“Went for the first time with a coworker for lunch and he suggested the jambalaya, we got there just as they opened so no one else was there besides us. He got the chicken jambalaya and I got the seafood and let me tell you it was AMAZING!! It was way too much for lunch I felt like I needed a nap after eating all that but man it was fantastic. The shrimp mussels and catfish were cooked and seasoned perfectly and the rice delicious I couldn't wait to take the next bite. Will definitely be going back and taking others with me to experience this place. “The drinks are amazing. It's located inside of the hotel Ulysses in the fed hill neighborhood. It definitely gives a speakeasy vibe and music really depends in who's behind the bar. The burger was great with some really tasty onions on top and a nice balance of the teriyaki on the burger. The churro was also delicious with a nice soft bitter chocolate flavor to the dipping sauce that balanced well with the sweetness of the churro. I love the idea of being able to do arts and crafts while enjoying a drink and some food with friends after work. We could see how lovely it got shortly after the end of the work day and there was even a jewelry class going on while we were there.
