“Used to really love this place when it was asian garden. Now it's asian bistro and they no longer deliver to my house. The last 2 orders I've picked up have had a problem- the first was missing a soup-not a big deal. The second had hair in the sushi- ewwww. I'm just a bit disappointed they changed so much.“

“*update We finished the meal at home when we could scrutinize it in an unbiased local. Wife had sick stomach from her beef bowl and after opening the take home container was opened, there was indeed something not right about it. Rice smelled funny too. Maybe the egg that was placed on the dish was bad? I was ok for once and it seems that mine is generally made of rice paper too.*Apologies for finishing this review when we finished the food, but it was excellent. The wife and I really enjoy our time with this restaurant sister's restaurant, Chiwa Bistro. The good folks at Chiwa suggested Kakure and we accepted the challenge. Since we had some business in Newark, we checked them up last night. Now, usually we get the same things as a bassline that compares one meal to one from another place. That would be me. The wife just enjoys the food. Once again the decorations were fantastic, with all of the Demon Slayer figures to the random TVs with random anime on. Bathroom is gender neutral but contains wanted posters if you're hunting down the Straw Hats. Its can be a bit claustrophobic and when we walked in the place was packed. We got the last table in the place. As far as the help went there was this lone server covering the whole restaurant. We did get our dinner in a timely manner and still warm. I got the teriyaki and the wife got the seared pork butt bowl. We did try to order a few things too but those were items that run out? Run out of tea?All in all, the meal was pretty good. Not perfect but this might be a good place to go to find out if a new romantic interest is as into anime as well. Might even want to share the larger bento box since it's meant for sharing. Definitely want to share a bite or two of the Mont Blanc, which I've never had. They're charging the same prices that their sister restaurant charges, and it's a pick your poison as to whether you want to deal with Newark or the mall, but you're choice. They both serve food that the other doesn't have on the menu.“

“I have been a fan of pork steamed buns and went here in search for them. Unfortunately they don't have them.I did try the sweet and sour pork with fried rice and an egg roll. I also got an order of crab rangoons and shrimp toast.I have to admit that the shrimp toast was better than most. Not overcooked or extremely greasy. Flavor and texture was dead on. Definitely recommend it!The crab rangoons were sparsely filled and the filling was not as creamy or flavorful as I would have liked. For the best crab rangoon in the area I prefer Asia Boy in elkton. The sweet and sour pork was good. The cuts were good, the right balance of tempura and meat was to my satisfaction. The sweet and sour sauce was thicker than you usually get in the area, nice surprise.I normally prefer the brown fried rice over the yellow. Here you get the yellow kind. However, the vegetables are fresh and don't appear to be frozen and tossed in. For someone who doesn't care for the yellow rice, it was pretty good. The restaurant is like a lot of other Chinese restaurants that have closed up to public dining since the scamdemic. The plexi glass walls still stand, the counter and dining areas are still out of reach so no in the restaurant dining.I have no idea what the other meals are like but it seems like it's a decent place to get a meal.I spent $25 for the combo platter, shrimp toast and rangoons. Portions were good and I will be eating it for 2 to 3 meals so you definitely get your monies worth.Nothing stupendous but not disappointing either.“
