Excellent food, fresh and beautifully presented; outstanding attentive service.
We came in a few weeks ago, around 845. We ordered appitizers, drinks, and several rolls in a timely manner, as we knew you closed at 10.. and our bill was well over $200. We were seated on the patio. First, the sushi was absolutely FANTASTIC, BUT our experience was less than stellar. We were seated on the patio, and around 930 were the only table left. Based on reviews, UMI Sushi is a family-owned and operated restaurant located in Historic Ellicott City. The food is outstanding, and they serve some of the freshest sushi in the area, with sushi that is fresh and dense. The avocado roll was simple but delicious. Other recommended meals include the hibachi chicken, served with fried rice and miso soup, and the teriyaki chicken bento box, which is the perfect lunch option. The Gyoza was really good, and the Tsunami Boat and Royal Steak, Philly and Honeymoon rolls were so delicious. The presentation of sushi was very well done. The cocktails were also a highlight, especially the unique Hello Kitty-themed drink. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting, and the servers are especially friendly and attentive. It is one of the busiest spots in Old Town, which says a lot about its popularity. The only downside is that the tables are placed a bit close together.
