“I’ve gotten assorted treats from Nikkie and her awesome team for years, but our most recent experience was by far the best. We ordered a custom cake for our daughter’s 5th birthday. I sent a few inspiration photos and my budget and let them know I also had a cake topper I wanted to use. Faith suggested a couple options in my budget that would customize it to our Cinderella theme and Nikkie helped to finalize the choices. When I picked up the cake I was stunned; it was perfect and when our daughter saw it she was absolutely enchanted. The birds and ribbons from Cinderella are one of her favorite parts of the movie, and they brought the entire thing to life. Everyone at the party commented on how gorgeous (and delicious) the cake was and we ate nearly the entire thing. My heartfelt thanks go to the entire team at Sage for adding such a memorable touch to our daughter's birthday celebration. Your skill, creativity, and attention to detail are truly appreciated!“
“I ordered my son a chocolate mouse cake online. We loved it, in fact it was better then a previous cake I bought for much more money. This one was only $31. “I was looking for a GF/DF/NF desert for my birthday and wrote them about allergens. The owner got back to me right away and came up with a solution that was perfect. When my husband and son picked up our order they also got some hot, made to order items. My son had been craving some chicken fingers and these were delicious. The onion rings were so good and the breading had the perfect amount of crunch. We had the cinnamon rolls the next day and they were just scrumptious. I love the Sanctuary and cannot wait to go back!“
“I just had some of the freshest food here that I've had in awhile. We had the bonjan borani as an appetizer and it was very flavorful with soft pita. Then we had side salads with the tomato tamari dip; the salad ingredients were fresh and crunchy and the dip was very umami. Then we each had the spicy chicken sandwich (I subbed tofu in for chicken). The coleslaw was great, all the textures worked wonderfully together, the garlic dip it's served with also delicious. Overall the meal was a tad expensive but it really felt worth it. It reminded me of the quality of food you used to get more regularly before the pandemic. This place is treat.“
“I would rate the cupcakes a 5 and the ice cream not so much. I had a scoop of Butterfinger and it was just okay. I love when I can chew my ice cream and this is chewable - if that makes any sense to anyone else! However - the flavor just wasn't there for me. The taste was like frozen yogurt. The cupcakes however - on point. You should be a buttercream icing lover though... So far I tasted the wedding cake and I will go back for that one - it had a hint of almond in the icing - just the way I love my buttercream. I sampled the pumpkin spice and it had a little custard in the center. I don't even like filling in my cupcake but I did in this one. The actual cake part was ...get ready for it...nice and MOIST. Overall, I found my place that I would bring for a special event or someone's birthday.“

“I first heard about Caroline at the Everything, Everywhere, All the Food at Once event at the Wharf. Her macarons were delicious and so cute! A few months later, Caroline made me the cutest cake for my 30th birthday. It was delivered with care from MD to DC and it was super easy to order online and later communicate directly with Caroline on some changes. The taste was just as good as the aesthetics! I just moved out of the area, but if I had stayed I'd definitely be ordering from Caroline for future events. Thank you Caroline!“
