“My husband and I love Cafe Campli happy hours! For our anniversary last week, we sat at the bar and enjoyed the autumn salad and mushroom and arugula focaccia with some house wine, perfect. Topped it off by sharing the chocolate and pistachio gelatos. Perfection in every way!”

“We always have an amazing experience at Libs. My son has a very hard time with eating and they NEVER let him leave hungry. Even when I insist “it’s fine” they refuse to settle for anything less than perfect! I was initially nervous to bring him there because of what an upscale place it is, but they prove that upscale doesn’t have to lose that family aspect. Now, I don’t know if I’ve just been fortunate to be around really well behaved kids when I go there, or if their behavior is reflective of the amazing service provided, as staff always treats my kids with respect, speaking to them like they belong there. Tonight my son left with a full belly and a big smile because Mr. Derek “was so nice!” for making him feel seen as a valued customer and not a needy kid with a medical issue. And even when I go without kids, Libs delivers for the perfect date night vibe. I love a restaurant that can do both! The food is spectacular, the ambiance on point and the service especially top of the line. I will sing their praises to anyone that will listen!”

“Just discovered a gem nearby. I ate at Kandahar on 36th Street. It is owned by the previous general manager of The Helmand. What a delight. Most reasonable prices and the food was excellent. The last few times I went to the downtown location it wasn't as good, I now know why. If you haven't been there, I promise, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars”

“The food was great! The owner explained how he brought food recipes from Afghanistan. Two of us shared the Kabuli Gosht Palau with Kabul eggplant. We also had the pumpkin called Kabul Kaddo that comes with bread. The flavors and freshness of the food are what stand out to me. We also enjoyed the Shugufa (means flower bud in Arabic) tea. It’s a whole pot of tea with a flower in it. It had a subtle flavor and aromatic smell. We ended with an order of Baklava. Everything tastes like it’s from someone’s home and unlike anything I’ve had in a restaurant. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The restaurant, though, is small. Make a reservation so you are sure to be seated. The restaurant seems to do a lot of takeout. The business also displays beautiful rugs for sale that adds to the feel of Afghanistan. For me, the experience of eating the food and drinking the tea in this sweet place was calm and comforting.”

“This has been our go to spot for over 10 years now in Hamden! Great for comfort, food or brunch and always a fun atmosphere. The service has gotten so much better over the years and everyone there is incredibly sweet and friendly. I love that they keep good staples on the menu, but are always trying to reinvent New dishes to complement the old standbys. And even though prices have raised at most other places, this place still remains incredibly affordable.”

“Been a huge fan of Chef Jasmine Norton for several years. When our plans changed and we postponed our annual anniversary trip to Jamaica, there was no other restaurant that I wanted to have dinner in than The Urban Oyster. From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by their warm and staff, it set the tone for the entire experience. We started off with raw oysters from Chincoteague and Canada that were flavorful and had the perfect balance of flavor and salt. I then indulged in the lobster bisque which had me wanting more but I knew I needed to save room for the main course. I selected the Seared Scallops and my husband had the Branzino. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and left us with no room for dessert. My only regret is that I didn’t take pictures for the review because we were too busy enjoying every moment! Urban Oyster, you exceeded this foodie’s expectations and we will be back soon! Thank you for making our 15th anniversary so special!”

“Went for lunch today for the first time. Sat at high top in bar area. The atmosphere is great. Classy but slightly industrial which makes a great mix. Collin & Bridget waited on us and they were very attentive and we waited for nothing! Top tier service! Will definitely return soon.”

“I dined there for the first time tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is quaint, cozy, and perfectly decorated. The first two drinks that I got were absolutely amazing, as they were custom-made. We also tried a flight of tequila, which was also very delicious. We both got an entrée each, and got nachos and queso. It was all absolutely delicious. The waitress kept coming back to check on us and was very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening. “Cannot thank Harmony Bakery enough! They were closed yesterday, but willing to open briefly to allow me to buy lunch for my wife. We were only in town for a day visiting a family member in the hospital. After hearing the story, the reaction was “say no more, what can we get for your wife?” The food was outstanding. “Went to the Rosedale location yesterday. My friend had never been, so I was excited to show her this place. We both got the AYCE special, which is ridiculously cheap for all the food you get! John was our server and he was fantastic! Friendly, checked on us a lot and actually demonstrated to us how to eat a crawfish! We will definitely request him when we go back! Great food, great atmosphere and great service!”

“Their drinks are always so good, no matter what I get. I'm a fan of bubble tea, so I have tried many of the local places, and Chatime is hands-down the best! The store owners are SO friendly and really care about the community. The food they serve all come from local small businesses, so the quality is top notch! The egg custard, red bean, and pork buns are my favorites! 😋 For drinks, the strawberry au lait, tiramisu milk tea, and mango tea with mousse are my go to!”

“Been meaning to shout this place out for a while. But Otoman HALAL SPOT has got to be the best halal food in the county, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. I eat there multiple times a week. For the vegans/vegetarians, their falafel is the best I’ve had. Their portions are incredible, and they even have non-halal food for those who like sandwiches / burritos / desert.”

“Everything was amazing. Selenis was very attentive and the rest of the staff was very friendly as well. The Brazilian lemonade was very refreshing and the fried cheese is a must-try. We also had a nice conversation with Juan about the fried pineapple which was a great way to end the meal (we even got second). Though we have enjoyed the location in the city this one is a couple of steps above for staff.”
