“We always have an amazing experience at Libs. My son has a very hard time with eating and they NEVER let him leave hungry. Even when I insist “it’s fine” they refuse to settle for anything less than perfect! I was initially nervous to bring him there because of what an upscale place it is, but they prove that upscale doesn’t have to lose that family aspect. Now, I don’t know if I’ve just been fortunate to be around really well behaved kids when I go there, or if their behavior is reflective of the amazing service provided, as staff always treats my kids with respect, speaking to them like they belong there. Tonight my son left with a full belly and a big smile because Mr. Derek “was so nice!” for making him feel seen as a valued customer and not a needy kid with a medical issue. And even when I go without kids, Libs delivers for the perfect date night vibe. I love a restaurant that can do both! The food is spectacular, the ambiance on point and the service especially top of the line. I will sing their praises to anyone that will listen!”

“The best desi food in the area! Love their palak paneer, chicken korma, chicken byrani, and garlic naan! And the staff is very friendly! Also very understanding. We ordered to the wrong location and they honored what we had ordered and made it for us anyways. They are fabulous!”

“Just discovered a gem nearby. I ate at Kandahar on 36th Street. It is owned by the previous general manager of The Helmand. What a delight. Most reasonable prices and the food was excellent. The last few times I went to the downtown location it wasn't as good, I now know why. If you haven't been there, I promise, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars”

“The food was great! The owner explained how he brought food recipes from Afghanistan. Two of us shared the Kabuli Gosht Palau with Kabul eggplant. We also had the pumpkin called Kabul Kaddo that comes with bread. The flavors and freshness of the food are what stand out to me. We also enjoyed the Shugufa (means flower bud in Arabic) tea. It’s a whole pot of tea with a flower in it. It had a subtle flavor and aromatic smell. We ended with an order of Baklava. Everything tastes like it’s from someone’s home and unlike anything I’ve had in a restaurant. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The restaurant, though, is small. Make a reservation so you are sure to be seated. The restaurant seems to do a lot of takeout. The business also displays beautiful rugs for sale that adds to the feel of Afghanistan. For me, the experience of eating the food and drinking the tea in this sweet place was calm and comforting.”

“Options galore. The seitan chicken is worth a try and I typically get the vegan chicken caesar wrap that fills me up and gives me energy for the gym. The vegan shakes with taharka bros ice cream hit the sweet cravings too. Love that they bring in the vegan donuts from Vegan Treats PA as well.”

“Been a huge fan of Chef Jasmine Norton for several years. When our plans changed and we postponed our annual anniversary trip to Jamaica, there was no other restaurant that I wanted to have dinner in than The Urban Oyster. From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by their warm and staff, it set the tone for the entire experience. We started off with raw oysters from Chincoteague and Canada that were flavorful and had the perfect balance of flavor and salt. I then indulged in the lobster bisque which had me wanting more but I knew I needed to save room for the main course. I selected the Seared Scallops and my husband had the Branzino. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and left us with no room for dessert. My only regret is that I didn’t take pictures for the review because we were too busy enjoying every moment! Urban Oyster, you exceeded this foodie’s expectations and we will be back soon! Thank you for making our 15th anniversary so special!”

“This place rocks, I’ve been to weddings, election night parties, birthday extravaganzas, movie screenings, happy hours, and plain ol’ nights out with friends at Peabody Heights and it remains my favorite brewery in Baltimore, which puts it in running for best world wide. And the beer is delicious! A mainstay of Baltimore beer culture and the greater charm city community.”

“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!”

“Been meaning to shout this place out for a while. But Otoman HALAL SPOT has got to be the best halal food in the county, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. I eat there multiple times a week. For the vegans/vegetarians, their falafel is the best I’ve had. Their portions are incredible, and they even have non-halal food for those who like sandwiches / burritos / desert.”

The first two drinks that I got were absolutely amazing, as they were custom-made. We also tried a flight of tequila, which was also very delicious. We both got an entrée each, and got nachos and queso. It was all absolutely delicious. The waitress kept coming back to check on us and was very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening. “Their drinks are always so good, no matter what I get. I'm a fan of bubble tea, so I have tried many of the local places, and Chatime is hands-down the best! The store owners are SO friendly and really care about the community. The food they serve all come from local small businesses, so the quality is top notch! The egg custard, red bean, and pork buns are my favorites! 😋 For drinks, the strawberry au lait, tiramisu milk tea, and mango tea with mousse are my go to!”

“We come to eat at the Rosedale location maybe once a month. Even on long waits when we are extra hungry, we always request Draven because he is a rockstar! Our drinks are never empty and requests such as extra napkins, gloves, bibs etc are always met expeditiously. We never have to wait long for food and it is always fresh and hot. Our family are creatures of habit and we typically get the same thing every time. Let’s start with the clam chowder. A generous bowl with a heaping portion of clam. We especially enjoy the crackers on the side for our picky toddler to nibble on. For dinner I always get the Cajun boil with the hook n reel blend *spicy* with sausage and hard boiled eggs as an add on. I like to get a 20 oz. draft ipa. It pairs very well with the spiciness of the boil. Our toddler usually ends up with tenders and sweet potato waffle fries. Recently she has started to eat broccoli (hallelujah!) so we get that on the side as well. For a family of 3, we spend around $130. If you request Draven, please expect to be amazed by the service and expect to tip at LEAST 20% for impeccable service. For those bad at math, 20% of $130 is $26, which I like to bump up to $30. Sorry this was so long! If you got this far, enjoy your dinner at Hook n Reel in Rosedale. We always do!”

“Miss Shirley's always makes you feel welcome. The staff and atmosphere are friendly and low key. The food is great and a little bit different--enough so that you want to come back and try something new. Their fried green tomatoes are rated Best in Maryland by Southern Living magazine.

“Everything was amazing. Selenis was very attentive and the rest of the staff was very friendly as well. The Brazilian lemonade was very refreshing and the fried cheese is a must-try. We also had a nice conversation with Juan about the fried pineapple which was a great way to end the meal (we even got second). Though we have enjoyed the location in the city this one is a couple of steps above for staff.”

“If you have gluten or dairy allergies, this place is Heaven! My daughter swears the staff here are magical fairies because no human can make food this good that is GF and DF! Beyond that, they also have the best customer service of anyone around! Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Everything we have had here has been amazing!”
