“We love prigels so much. We go every week! Not only are the staff SO friendly but it’s family owed business and you definitely feel that love. We had a dog that was crossing the rainbow bridge so I went there to pick up some ice cream as a treat. The girl working saw me sobbing, asked and then paid for the ice cream out of her own pocket. Literally. Pulled her wallet out and paid for it. Just a small prime example as to why they’re the best!”

“Just discovered a gem nearby. I ate at Kandahar on 36th Street. It is owned by the previous general manager of The Helmand. What a delight. Most reasonable prices and the food was excellent. The last few times I went to the downtown location it wasn't as good, I now know why. If you haven't been there, I promise, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars”

“I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!”

“This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was really impressed! Drove a hour away! 😬 The food was delicious, they had a variety of oysters, atmosphere was great, and the service made the experience even better. Kimberly was my server and she was absolutely amazing friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. She really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The first two drinks that I got were absolutely amazing, as they were custom-made. We also tried a flight of tequila, which was also very delicious. We both got an entrée each, and got nachos and queso. It was all absolutely delicious. The waitress kept coming back to check on us and was very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening. “This place is such a hidden gem. I love that it’s in a very nondescript, mysterious location. The vibes are immaculate and I had the best cocktail of my life here (caffe pistachio) and they are delicious and reasonably priced. My only criticism is that the music was a bit odd, it felt like I was in a yoga studio. otherwise i would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique, true speakeasy vibe for an after dinner cocktail.”

Beyond that, they also have the best customer service of anyone around! Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Everything we have had here has been amazing!”
