I have dietary restrictions -no dairy, no gluten- while the menu has lots of options for restrictions they are also very flexible and creative in ways to mix and match offerings for multiple restrictions. I ordered the avacado toast on the cauliflower pizza crust and it was outstanding!! Our server, Brenna, was really patient and professional. She personally saw the chef and explained the special order. And she did it with a smile and an awesome attitude! Definitely worth a return trip!!”

“Just discovered a gem nearby. I ate at Kandahar on 36th Street. It is owned by the previous general manager of The Helmand. What a delight. Most reasonable prices and the food was excellent. The last few times I went to the downtown location it wasn't as good, I now know why. If you haven't been there, I promise, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars”

“Options galore. The seitan chicken is worth a try and I typically get the vegan chicken caesar wrap that fills me up and gives me energy for the gym. The vegan shakes with taharka bros ice cream hit the sweet cravings too. Love that they bring in the vegan donuts from Vegan Treats PA as well.”

“Been a huge fan of Chef Jasmine Norton for several years. When our plans changed and we postponed our annual anniversary trip to Jamaica, there was no other restaurant that I wanted to have dinner in than The Urban Oyster. From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by their warm and staff, it set the tone for the entire experience. We started off with raw oysters from Chincoteague and Canada that were flavorful and had the perfect balance of flavor and salt. I then indulged in the lobster bisque which had me wanting more but I knew I needed to save room for the main course. I selected the Seared Scallops and my husband had the Branzino. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and left us with no room for dessert. My only regret is that I didn’t take pictures for the review because we were too busy enjoying every moment! Urban Oyster, you exceeded this foodie’s expectations and we will be back soon! Thank you for making our 15th anniversary so special!”

“This place rocks, I’ve been to weddings, election night parties, birthday extravaganzas, movie screenings, happy hours, and plain ol’ nights out with friends at Peabody Heights and it remains my favorite brewery in Baltimore, which puts it in running for best world wide. And the beer is delicious! A mainstay of Baltimore beer culture and the greater charm city community.”

“We are there for the first time last night and I can say the food was absolutely amazing and the service was phenomenal. It’s a busy restaurant for obvious reasons, but the staff made the experience a great one. The owner Carlos was super nice and stopped by to say hello to us as we have a mutual friend. “I just have to share the fantastic experience we had tonight. My husband and I went to The Local around 6:30 pm (prime time without reservations lol). The only available seats were a high top table in the bar area. They asked us if that was ok and we said “sure”. Within a minute or so after being seated, it became apparent that our vision of a nice relaxing dinner would be impossible in that room. The Preakness was about to begin, and that bar was loud and hopping! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I love to see people enjoying themselves. It was a party, but just wasn’t our vibe tonight. We decided we would go elsewhere. We politely informed the hostess that we were going to leave because it was just a tad too noisy, but that we would definitely return again soon. We stressed that we were not mad, or upset. As we were walking to our car, a very nice gentleman followed us out and asked if we would consider returning if they could sit us elsewhere. We said “Of course!” We didn’t think there were any other available tables, but he said they would work something out for us. We told him we didn’t expect them to go out of their way for us and that we could wait. Within five minutes, we were seated at a lovely table in the dining room. We later learned the gentleman that helped us was none other than the owner/ executive chef Zack. We went on to have a delicious dinner with the most attentive and charming server. They demonstrated exemplary customer service, which sadly is lacking in many other establishments. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but they certainly went above and beyond for us, and it was very much appreciated! When we were leaving, Zack happened to be outside, so he made sure to ask how our experience was. We told him it was amazing, and that his restaurant has been one of our favorites since it opened. We told him we would be back soon. Our experience there tonight is just one of many examples why this restaurant stands out, and why we will always highly recommend them! Thank you all so much for proving customer service is not a dying art!”

“Been meaning to shout this place out for a while. But Otoman HALAL SPOT has got to be the best halal food in the county, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. I eat there multiple times a week. For the vegans/vegetarians, their falafel is the best I’ve had. Their portions are incredible, and they even have non-halal food for those who like sandwiches / burritos / desert.”

“My husband and I met some friends for dinner here. We passed by multiple, but this was our first time in. It feels like an upscale sports bar when you walk in. The service was standard and the food was very good. I heard that the lamb was a dish people raved about, so I tasted it. It did not disappoint! The salmon bites were also delicious. We had a great time! I think just about anyone would enjoy themselves here. It's not too casual, but not pretentious.”

“I dined there for the first time tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is quaint, cozy, and perfectly decorated. The first two drinks that I got were absolutely amazing, as they were custom-made. We also tried a flight of tequila, which was also very delicious. We both got an entrée each, and got nachos and queso. It was all absolutely delicious. The waitress kept coming back to check on us and was very attentive. Thank you for a lovely evening. “I went to this place after months of thinking about it. I ordered the detroit style pan pizza with pepperoni and extra cheese. And it was freakin delicious. Stays consistent a day later even after reheating. A little pricey though. If i could get a half of detroit pan pizza i would prefer that. Just in case i dont need to feed a whole family.”
