Joey was absolutely fantastic - setting us up at a table with an amazing view and checking on us multiple times during our visit. He offered to take our coats after we were seated and then offered to take pictures of us when we were on our way out. Ampersea has definitely been the most positive experience we have had during our trip. I look for things to not like and this is my second time here and can’t think of one bad thing. Service is good, but the food is literally outstanding. The mashed potatoes had great flavor as did the veggies - my steak was a tad overdone but it was so tasty it didn’t matter. Crab cake was filled with delicious lump crab! “We stopped by Miss Shirley’s Cafe during a trip to Baltimore after seeing glowing reviews on Google Map. It lived up to the hype.

Got here around 10am on a Sunday and waited about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn’t bad considering the popularity.

The decor is fun, eclectic, and welcoming. The menu is huge with plenty of both sweet and savory options to choose from. We ordered the fried green tomato breakfast sandwich and the banana chocolate chips pancakes, and both were excellent. I’d order either again. One note: the hot chocolate is very sweet. I ordered it with the pancakes and found the combo too much. If you prefer less sweetness like I do, skip it.

Service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant seemed very well run despite the crowds. Though it’s popular with tourists, the food and overall experience make it well worth a visit.“

“We had the fried green tomatoes as our first appetizer. They were tender and topped with lumps of crabmeat. Spectacular! Then we had the fried cheese appetizer. I can’t remember the name of the cheese, but it was delicious in the accompanying sauce and olive oil and pesto. All of the dishes we had came out perfect. My filet medallions were so tender,they melted in my mouth. Hubby got the pork loin over mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts and loved it. We will definitely come back!“

“We went to dinner here this evening with a large party of 10. While we enjoyed our food and our server was great our overall experience was not 🤦🏼‍♀️. I don’t know if we just had an evening of bad luck or what. First after sitting there a bit a VERY large picture fell off of the wall directly onto me and my 18 month old daughter, then there was a gnat in our drink, and my dad walked outside and a piece of shingle fell off and hit him in the head. Like, I seriously couldn’t make this up. 🤣 like I said food was good and so was our waiter but I feel like a little more could have been done after the picture situation. A cupcake and free drink didn’t really cut it. Had it just fallen on me I wouldn’t have been so upset but the fact that it fell on my daughter made my soul leave my body. We will give it another shot at some point and chock tonight up to the full moon or something just be careful where you sit your kiddos.“

Stopped by Riverside Taphouse and ordered the lump crab cake sandwich, and it absolutely delivered.

The crab cake arrived piping hot, packed with generous chunks of lump crab meat, and cooked to a beautiful golden-brown perfection. The house sauce complemented the sandwich perfectly without overpowering the flavor of the crab. Every bite was rich, fresh, and exactly what you'd hope for when ordering a Maryland crab cake.

The coleslaw deserves its own mention. It was the perfect blend of fresh, sweet, and tangy, adding a crisp contrast to the warm sandwich. It's the kind of side dish that elevates the entire meal rather than just filling space on the plate.

To top it off, the Bloody Mary was exceptionally well-balanced. Not too spicy, not too salty, and full of flavor without overwhelming the palate. It paired perfectly with the crab cake and completed the experience.

“I happened to drive by and see people sitting outside eating. It looked like a great place to stop. I went by myself. I was able to find free parking right outside the restaurant. The menu I was looking at was mostly breakfast and brunch. The price range was about $15 on up. I got a gingerale and their house wings as well as fries. Everything was good.. My bill was $21. The waitress was very attentive and nice and gave recommendations. I would recommend checking this place out. It had a nice atmosphere.“

I did move after a while because the draft from the door, but was happily helped to move my things. The atmosphere was friendly, everyone that came through had smiles.
