“The food was delicious and Alejandro was a great server! He was very personable and prompt! We had the salmon cakes, banzino fish, w/greens, red beans & rice. The only thing that needed a smidge more seasoning was the fried green tomatoes. The first time I ordered them they were seasoned perfectly. I also thoroughly enjoyed the nicely cooked breakfast potatoes! This is my 3rd trip here, and I will be back!“

“What a hidden gem Dionne’s and Scarlet & Oak are! I ordered the chicken sandwich and crab fries… and YUM! My friend ordered the fish sandwich and crab fries and our total was $28. For DC, that’s inexpensive but even better, it was delicious. The entire space is beautiful, clean, and bright. This would be a great place for many different types of events. I’m already thinking about who and what I can bring back to it so we ensure the local businesses within are supported and it stays open for years to come.“

“Saw their videos on tik tok. We ordered for the first time today, a pollo con tajadas a carne mixta and an order of baleadas. It was over all great. Top tier, the flavor was amazing. Like stepping into San Pedro Sula with each bite. We ordered for pick up and it was ready in15 minutes. They also through in a free Pepsi that we were not expecting! We will most definitely be returning. I did not take pictures but now I wish I did honestly, the food did not disappoint the next time we order we will be taking pics!“

“I love the food at EllaRay’s Cafe. I go there every week. I usually call my order in and pick it up in 15 or 20 minutes. I prefer the vegetable platter and an extra side of beans. The portions are enough for two meals for me. I love breakfast there also. Glad I discovered them.“

“What a gem! Who would have thought that a little bit of Jamaica would be found just off of Suitland!!! Great food. Great service. Great value for the massive amount of flavor packed food! Seasoned just right, plantains to die for and rice that was out of this world.“
