“I recently dined at Modena DC and had an overall positive experience. The food was generally good, though some dishes stood out more than others. The crispy artichokes were absolutely delicious—crispy and flavorful, definitely a highlight of the meal. The butternut squash pasta was just okay, lacking a bit of depth in flavor, but the pesto gnocchi was quite good, with a nice balance of creamy texture and vibrant pesto.

For dessert, the crème brûlée was fantastic—rich, creamy, and perfectly caramelized on top. It was definitely a great way to end the meal.

While the food was decent, I did find the prices to be a bit on the higher side for what you get. Still, it wasn’t a bad experience overall.“

Honestly with an appetizer the half portion of pasta was absolutely perfect in size and the bomboloni for dessert was a delicious treat and very freshly made! I would definitely go back to try more! Drinks were also delicious, I got the sirene spritz and would definitely order it again. Their bread is also definitely to die for. So delicious.“

“I don't leave many reviews, but Bozzelli's (specifically the Vermont Ave location) is worth it. I travel to DC semi-regularly, and I've been to Bozzelli's for a chicken parm sandwich and lemon cake three times...should tell you something, considering the many other food options in the area. Food's great, and service is about as friendly as I've experienced. If you're looking for something quick, affordable, and delicious around Dupont Circle, this is the place.“

“We have been going to La Tomate for years. Retired several years ago and moved away from DC. Every time we are in DC we always go to one of our favorite restaurant, La Tomate. I love the selection on the menu, always something new to try with the daily specials. La Tomate has great staff and an excellent location. “My wife and I had an absolutely amazing evening dining out here on a long weekend trip to DC for our Birthdays. The food was incredible I have not found one dish at this or the Chicago location that wasn’t great. Abagail was simply the best waitress we have EVER had. She was attentive, personable and really went out of the way to give us the best dining experience my wife and I have ever had from top to bottom. We had a great experience in Chicago but I have to say I think the food was a touch better here. I am comparing caviar to caviar here as both were great, but DC has the win here and certainly did with our waitress as well.“

“I came here right when the restaurant opened and sat at the bar for the happy hour. Food came out quickly, love the bread a lot. We got the meatball, the grilled octopus with finger potatoes (please try this dish it’s so good). They also accommodated my request regarding the pasta, which was very nice of them. Tiramisu is good too. Would come back.“

“New York Pizza Grill recently catered our Halloween Party. All of the food was excellent, especially the Indian dishes. I would recommend them highly for anyone needing catering or pizzas to feed a group.“

“Honestly the best place in Adams Morgan! The place never disappoints. Me and my partner went here almost weekly. We usually just walked in around early weekdays like Tuesday/Wednesday and easily got a table on the bar. The atmosphere, food and drinks selection are all great. You can tell that they took care of the employees there very well by the energy all the servers gave out in return.
Their menu change by the season. This season they have a marvelous snap peas with Hummus as appetizer and they have this fried half chicken situation which is to die for.
I only have one feedback - Please bring back the gelato!!!“

“This was some of the best food I’ve ever had! We had a bachelor party of eight for Sunday brunch and Anna took incredible care of us. I needed dairy free options and she was able to recommend the veggie omelet and a custom pizza with cashew mozzarella which were both amazing. Our table ordered family style and everything came out promptly and delicious.

Service was great, especially as we had a lot of different dietary needs across the party.

Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian brunch options with cheese, egg, or both. Veggie omelet, potato cakes, grilled bread!

There are fewer vegan options and I believe the pasta is made with egg, the eggplant parm has Parmesan in the breading, etc. but it’s easy to order a customized vegan pizza or put together a salad.

Dietary restrictions: For an Italian restaurant there are a surprising number of dairy free and gluten free. It would be difficult to accommodate more than one allergy per person though.

Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and possible allergens. The only downside is that there aren’t any indications on the menu of what meals are customizable by allergen, so it’ll be up to you to ask for the accommodation.“

“I Love Italian - and when I say this place has THE BEST MEATBALLS I've ever tasted - it's saying a lot! The mushroom gnocchi was light and delish! Not to mention the roasted cauliflower, burrata and garlic bread!! It was a feast and worth every bite! The staff was friendly, polite and aimed to please! The decor and vibe super cool. It was recommended to me by a local and when I visit DC again - this gem will be a first stop!“

“This beat some of the NY style slices I had even in New York. Just the perfect ratio of crust to sauce to toppings. Perfectly sized pepperoni cups. A gorgeous toasty feeling to the freshly heated slice. Started with 3 slices between 2 people and essentially ended up eating a whole pie. Staff are amazing, so warm and friendly. Great brews on tap and a few salads and sides on the menu to go with the pies. Can’t wait to come back“

“Just happened their second location opened up during our stay in DC. This location at 4400 Connecticut Ave NW, was literally doing it’s hard opening when we strolled in. You know what impresses me, hard work, and in service, quality of meal, concern for my satisfaction, and just overall effort I was blown away. Food; FRESH my goodness from the appetizer, to each individual ingredient in a perfectly made oven baked pizza each individual ingredient added to an amazing overall flavor. Service: hard working and committed. When we sat down I saw this young man essentially making a sport of a crowd they had not anticipated for day 1. I could see his predicament and added some understanding to my patients, but this young man never lost focus or track and provided great service with something that is so rare today, sincerity. The owner came to see us at one point to ask us how we were doing and listened intently as I explained my perspective. Great Fresh Food, Service that genuinely cares and prices more than competitive and reasonable. Do yourself a favor, when in the area of 4400 Connecticut NW in the DC, and wanting good food, great service and fair prices, keep the his little place doing what they do best. Serving you! “We sat outside and our table neighbor had three smelly, poorly trained, anxious dogs, but there's not much that the restaurant can do about that. While our server was fantastic and the food was great, I was not getting warm and fuzzy vibes from the rest of the staff, specifically this skinny guy that seemed to be the lead host/ dining room manager. I guess he was not convinced that I could afford the lamb over saffron risotto for me and my date (it was the special). Maybe it was because of how old he thought I was, or my race, or because my hair is curly and natural instead of a manicured low cut, or maybe it was because he was having a bad day. I don't know why we received that energy, but what I do know is that I won't be back.“
